Usage of information technologies in the course of programming.
There was a necessity to write master’s work “Usage of Information Technologies in the Course of Programming”. Living in rapidly changing world requires good IT using skills. I noticed a necessity of creating such a mean, moreover the presented work is closely connected with IT teaching. This educational mean should help pupils to understand the structures of algorithms and use theoretical materials. It could also help pupils to study independently. Pupils have enough It using skills so, educational computer programs can help them a lot. Therefore great attention is paid to the subject-matter of Educational Computer Programs (ECP), its relevance, the convenience of navigation and the possibility of test evaluation. An educational and control tests have been created. If the answer is correct a student is given the next question, but if the answer is incorrect, the next question doesn’t appear in the educational test. During the control test students are given all questions, not showing their mistakes and the results are shown when the test is completed. A comprehensive analysis of the results is also given in the end. Correct and incorrect answers are given. The programs that have been used to accomplish the work: 1. Microsoft Office Front Page 2. C# (sharp) 3. Joomla 1,5 TVS The greatest advantage the editing possibility of the ECP (Educational Computer Programs) content. There is a possibility of changing, supplementing and adapting according to the students needs
GRID QoS efficiency analysis.
Nowadays GRID computing issues become urgent. GRID quality of service (QoS) importance grows together with the development of GRID technology. The importance of QoS of the grid lies in at least three aspects: the concept of grid service, the multiplicity of users’ demands, and the heterogeneity of grid resources (Pu Juhua, Xiong Zhang and Wu Zhenxing. The Research On QoS For Grid Computing.). Besides discussing GRID QoS parameters, there are also suggestions about the methods to obtain them. The scope of this document is to research the GRID QoS aspects and the description of developed methodology for estimating QoS efficiency evaluating network and clusters parameters. The results of efficiency experiments done using the developed methodology are presented there
Paskirstytos sistemos su testavimo scenarijais kokybės tyrimas.
TestTool is an e-learning system for testing theoretical and practical student knowledge. Main difference from other knowledge assessment tools is the ability to use interactive graphical components in testing process. New administrative subsystem for TestTool was developed, it has dedicated resource repository and operation centre modules that make testing process more flexible. It also simplifies development and maintenance of new subsystems and system functions. These modules allow better adaptation of test process to customer needs and reduce implementation and later maintenance costs of various knowledge assessment features. It is very important to have free e-learning systems that are of the same quality as similar commercial products. This work provides the details of main development and testing stages of TestTool administrative subsystem that helped to achieve positive results of subsequent subsystem quality assessment
Information system for graphics rendering in cloud computing.
Graphics rendering is a complex task which needs a great number of computation resources. Therefore rendering systems (farms) are being developed and used by designers and animators. Because of non-consistent and dynamically changing workload it’s hard to maintain rendering systems fully loaded. So the downtime of such systems is an issue which leads to loss of profit. In this work using of cloud computing services is analysed as a solution to handle resources utilisation problem in graphics rendering systems. A complex of tasks was implemented to do this research. Firstly analysis of existent workload balancer models and graphics rendering systems which uses cloud computing was made. Secondly the information system for graphics rendering was created and resource distribution as a hybrid IaaS cloud was implemented. Algorithm of load balancing between private and public clouds was presented and experimentally tested in this system. Also different job scheduling strategies with ability to predict number of incoming jobs and reserve resources for them were suggested. To determine virtualisation influence to rendering speed an experiment of different resources distribution scenarios in network was made. As a result showed using of this complex solution can raise private resources utilisation level and lower usage of public cloud
E-teaching aspects of physical course "Lens".
E-teaching mediums help to reach more effective development of a cognitive work and gives an opportunity for the creative student’s perfection. A computer can be used in physics lessons, which can replace a piece of equipment needed for experiments and laboratories. Thereto teaching computer-based mediums are needed, with there help demonstration of experiments supplement experimental course of physics, lessons become more effective and easier to soak up. However majority of teaching computer-based programmes are in a foreign language. Naturally that programmes do not match the education content, they are too difficult for teachers and students. Therefore it is needed to create an interactive teaching medium fitted for teaching a physics course “Lens”. In master’s work The analysis of teaching mediums used in physics teaching is done. During it was found that some devices are quite old, adjusted to a MS – DOS medium. So sometimes it causes problems using modern OS, because of the partial incompatibility it works unstable. The teacher’s survey analysis was done. It was found that teachers face problems using the computer-based equipment. Basic of them: they do not match the education content, a complicated control and most of them user’s linking language is foreign. Considering the advantages and disadvantages of usable computer-based programmes, a computer-based teaching device and its functions are defined. A projection of a teaching computer-based device components was done. During it, the basic attention was paid on the structure of the medium, the control and the selection of the accomplishment technologies. An interactive teaching page was created using FrontPage programme, Java skript and Java applets. It can be used in different types of lessons: explaining a new theme, demonstration, self-control and experiments. The virtual laboratory work “Lens” was created using a Delphi medium and Pascal computerese. This device is designed to do a virtual laboratory work, when in the class there are not enough implements. The student’s knowledge testing programme is created using the computerese PHP. Using this system we can check how students soaked up analysed physics course. During the experimental research was found that students who repeated the course using the device general evaluation mean is higher then students who during the repetition did not use the computer-based teaching device
Monitoring System of Grid.
This research paper deals with security technologies used in monitoring systems. As GRID network is developing rapidly, secure information transfer in GRID network still remains as one of the most crucial aspects. For this reason, the main aim of this paper is to adopt the most effective methods in order to create secure BalticGrid monitoring system that will ensure authenticity, integrity and confidentiality of information. First of all, the vulnerabilities of existing monitoring systems were examined. Further, the main safety criteria for monitoring systems were stated. Later, the analysis of architectures used in monitoring systems was performed and, accordingly, the most suitable architecture for modern Grid monitoring network was suggested. Finally, BalticGrid, a secure system designed to monitor network parameters, was created. Its security is ensured by the fact that it can be approached only by users possessing either BalticGrid or LitGrid certificates. Additionally, the event register is enabled; its function is to store information about all actions that each user has performed in the system. A special feature of BalticGrid includes saving cluster’s parameters in PDF file format signed with electronic signature. In this situation, electronic signature ensures complete confidentiality of data
Mathematics computer-based training tool for pupils with special educational needs.
Mathematics has a great influence on the development of world science and education, technology and human culture. Ukeje observes that without mathematics there is no science, without science there is no modern technology and without modern technology there is no modern society. In other words, mathematics is the precursor and the queen of science and technology and the indispensable single element in modern societal development. So, it plays a vital role in developing learners abilities to count, their visual, spatial and logical thinking [39]. Mathematics is especially very difficult subject for pupils who have learning disabilities. Those pupils are defined as learners with special needs who require special education and related services to achieve their fullest potential (the same conception is used to define gifted pupils but I am not going to discuss about them in my research). The use of educational technology as a learning tool helps to meet the individual needs of pupils. But usually teachers and learners face the problem that they do not have the necessary computer equipment and software for helping pupils with special educational needs to learn mathematics. Thus there is a demand for specific educational software for computer-based mathematics teaching. In nowadays Lithuania there is no interactive educational tool which could help pupils with special educational needs to study mathematics. There is a high demand for the tool which could help to study individually or by playing. Mathematics course is quite extensive and special educational software could be very helpful. It would be beneficial for learners as well as for teachers. Lithuania is not the only country which has such problem. For example, according to Lingnau A., P. Zentel (Germany) there is no doubt that computers are capable of supporting the learning of pupils with learning disabilities. However, there is a lack of professionally developed learning software for this target group. There are few products designed by special education teachers with a high level of instructional design but at a low technical level, inflexible and not adaptable. Conversely, there are highly technical commercial products with very little instructional quality. The aim of my research paper was: to improve mathematics teaching process for students with special educational needs using interactive tool-based teaching and learning materials [28]. The aim was achieved through defined goals by analyzing educational computer-based material that is pros and cons were assessed, mathematics computer-based training tool project was carried through, testing and designed „MKMP“ educational tool was used and evaluated. During teaching and learning process children were placed into two groups, one group used created computer-based mathematics software „MKMP“, other group used conventional learning methods. The group that used „MKMP“ was on line and was asked to do three level tasks: easy, medium and upper clicking on „Tests and Practice“. They could use the test system Test Tool and have the possibility to practice. By analyzing and comparing the results of both groups, it is possible to state that those learners who used the software performed significantly better than students using traditional methods. Using specific educational software has a positive impact on student achievement and on student motivation and self-concept. Educational computer-based training tool can be improved and used for teaching mathematics younger pupils
