A Quantitative Study of the Paratexts in Erasmus-Froben Imprints
We study the paratexts in Erasmus’ imprints with Johann then Hieronymus Froben of Basel between 1514 and 1536. From Valentina Sebastiani’s bibliography of Johann Froben we observe that Erasmus was a more abundant paratexter than other authors who published with Johann Froben. We supplement that work with a bibliography of Erasmus’ imprints with Hieronymus Froben. We note trends across the Erasmus-Froben corpus, including: a remarkable number of imprints, equally balanced between new editions and re-editions, abundant dedications without correlation to format, indexes in folio volumes especially, a growing attention to errata lists over time. These patterns shed light on one author-printer partnership but also on more general trends in learned publishing in the early 16th century.HistoryAccepted Manuscrip
Compliance to Hand Hygiene Guidelines in Hospital Care: A stepwise behavioural approach
Healthcare associated infections (HAI) are a threat to the health of people requiring acute
or chronic care. Since HAI can often be avoided by taking preventative measures, including
proper application of hand hygiene principles, the prevention of these infections has
received growing attention over the past decades. However, the application of preventive
measures in clinical practice remains problematic and the observed compliance with
such measures is often poor. Hand hygiene is one such area where compliance needs to
be improved. To be able to develop successful interventions for the improvement of hand
hygiene, it is essential to identify the factors influencing hand hygiene behaviour, and to
investigate which interventions best target these factors.
This thesis reports on a number of studies on the identification of behavioural and environmental
correlates of hand hygiene behaviour among healthcare workers, and the translation
of these determinants into an intervention. This chapter describes the background,
aims and theoretical framework used, and presents an introduction to the individual
studies that are part of this thesis

Author Correction
The original version of this Article contained an error in Table 4, in which the coefficients of the LASSO regression model of treatment response corresponded to a version that was performed without non-coding genes. The new version of the table, which was generated during revision of the manuscript, contains the coefficients that were obtained after including potential non-coding driver genes in the model. Genomic features that became statistically significant after re-running the model were also added, which included: ‘nr of 10 kb–1Mb deletions’, ‘SBS41’, ‘Non-coding - LINC00672’, ‘Gain 7p12.3 - (PKD1L1)’, ‘Loss 4q22.1 - (CCSER1)’, and ‘Loss 18q23 - (NFATC1*)’. This has now been corrected in both the PDF and HTML versions of the Article. The original version of this Article also contained an error in the author affiliations. The affiliations of Job van Riet with Cancer Computational Biology Center, Erasmus MC Cancer Institute, Erasmus University Medical Center Rotterdam, Rotterdam, The Netherlands and Department of Urology, Erasmus MC Cancer Institute, Erasmus University Medical Center Rotterdam, Rotterdam, The Netherlands were inadvertently omitted. This has now been corrected in both the PDF and HTML versions of the Article. The original version of this Article contained an error in the Methods, section “Whole-genome sequencing; identification of somatic changes”, which incorrectly read ‘GATK BQSR and Haplotype Caller v3.4.46 were used to call somatic mutations.’ The correct version is ‘GATK BQSR and Haplotype Caller v3.4.46 and Strelka v1.0.14 were used to call somatic mutations’. This has been corrected in both the PDF and HTML versions of the Article.</p

The Vocation of Erasmus
Using vocation in its core sense of a call from God to follow a personal path with a definite mission, the author reads Erasmus’ life as the progressive implementation of that heaven-assigned task; he sees no basic discontinuity between Erasmus’ youth as a student of the Brethren of the Common Life, then as an Augustinian canon, and in his independent career as a pious priest busy editing the New Testament and the Church fathers. Even his secular writings, such as the Adages and the Colloquies, breathe the spirit of devotio moderna. His last masterpiece, Ecclesiastes, is a treatise on preaching. </jats:p
