A New Early Ripening Table Grape Cultivar Obtained in Pietroasa Research Station: Vitis vinifera L. cv. Mihaela
AbstractThe evolution of the internal Romanian market for table grapes in recent years suggests that there are occasional problems with the supply, sometimes requiring imports, as well as a need for early maturing varieties, which can bring important benefits for both producers and consumers. This paper presents some data regarding a promising new variety of table grapes, Mihaela, obtained at the Pietroasa Research Station located in Buzău county, Romania, by crossing of Vitis vinifera varieties Cardinal and Coarnă neagră, the last being the maternal ancestor. Presented data includes ampelographic features, agrobiological and technological traits for the new Mihaela cultivar, as well as for its parent varieties. The results recorded thus far present Mihaela as a valuable early ripening variety which could be a good addition to the table grapes assortment of many producers
Retrospection, analysis and socio-psychological problems during the education and realization of dental technicians with bachelor’s degree // Ретроспекция, анализ и социално-психологически проблеми при подготовката и реализацията на "професионален бакалавър" по специалност "зъботехник"
There are no comprehensive studies of the motivation, education and realization of dental technician graduates in the literature available. This gives us grounds for research of the historical development of education of dental technicians and analysis of these issues in Bulgaria. The inquiry examination covered 495 respondents including students and teachers specializing as dental technicians and dentists. Historical, documentation, psychological (by using an academic motivation scale modified by us), sociological and statistical methods, as well as SWOT analysis, are applied. High values of students’ academic motivation were established, i.e. conscious identification (3,98 - 0,79), intrinsic motivation to know (3,69 - 0,87), extrinsic motivation by society (3,66 - 0,97) and low motivation (1,58 - 0,88). This favored education that was defined as good. Academic motivation was influenced by the following factors for educational quality: up-dated information delivered at lectures, organization and performance of seminars and vocational training; opportunity for successful professional realization; self-assessment of the theoretical and practical courses; conformity of education on the educational and qualification degree. The graduates with dental technician’s bachelor’s degree achieved successful realization. The present dissertation study is the first purposeful, profound and comprehensive socio-psychological investigation of the opinion of students and teachers of dental technician, dental technicians and dentists. It deals with educational issues and future development of the dental technician‘s profession in Bulgaria.
Mihaela Koletnik, Slovenskogoriško narečje (Maribor 2001)
The article brings a presentation of a monograph Slovenskogoriško narečje (The Slovenske Gorice Dialect) by Mihaela Koletnik, a dialectologist from Maribor. This is the 12th publication from the Zora series issued by Slavistično društvo Maribor. The results of author š years-long research on the phonological, morphological and syntactic levels of the Pannonian Slovenske Gorice dialect are presented in this monograph. The author justifies the division of the dialect into two sub-dialects on the basis of the quantitative opposition between the permanently long vowels on the one hand, and the old and the new acute vowels on the other.V članku je predstavljena monografija mariborske dia-lektologinje Mihaele Koletnik Slovenskogoriško narečje, kije kot 12. knjiga iz zbirke Zora izšla pri Slavističnem društvu Maribor. Professional Association and Evolution of the Activities of Dental Technicians in Bulgaria // Професионално сдружаване и развитие на дейността на зъботехниците в България
Brief historical data on the emergence of professional associations in Bulgaria are presented. The establishment and growth of healthcare professional organisations from 1878 to the present are presented. This provides context for the historical development of the dental technicians' associations in our country from 1910 to 2022 when the dental technicians established their legally regulated professional organisation. After 1990, the association "Union of Dental Technicians in Bulgaria" evolved from an object of state management to a self-governing entity. However, between 2009 to 2018, it served to advocate for and safeguard the rights exclusively of dental laboratory managers.
A large-scale sociological study was conducted through in-depth interviews with nine dental technicians and a survey among 360 practising dental technicians and 18 lecturers with educational and qualification degrees in the Dental Technician speciality at the medical colleges in Plovdiv, Varna, and Sofia. An analysis was conducted on the views held about the Bulgarian Association of Dental Technicians, alongside major issues concerning the training of students and their subsequent professional activities. A SWOT analysis of the Dental Technician's speciality was carried out.
A development model for the speciality and a strategy advancing the profession of Dental Technician’s profession were formulated. Ten conclusions, nineteen recommendations, two original contributions, eight theoretical contributions, and six scientific-practical contributions were formulated.
The Opinion of Dental Technology Students about the Harmful Effects of the Materials Used During Practical Training and Means of Prevention
Abstract :
In the process of training in the special academic disciplines dental technology students are exposed to the harmful effects of various materials, volatile substances and dust particles. All of above can cause allergies, diseases of the respiratory system, neurological diseases, etc. The purpose of the present article is to study whether the students of the “Dental Technician” Educational Sector are familiar with the fact that some of the materials used in their practical training have a harmful effect on the body as well as to give information about means of prevention students can use. A sociological method using a specially designed for the purpose questionnaire was used to achieve the goal of this scientific study. The survey was conducted using Google forms in June 2023 and was distributed among first, second and third year (62.39 % in the study stage) Dental Technology students at the Medical College subordinate to the Medical University of Varna. For the presentation of the results a graphical analysis was used. It was found that a very large number of students know about the harmful effects of some of the materials they work with and more than half of them are worried about their health; not all of the students use protective equipment and there are some who do not use protective equipment at all ( 12.20 %). The following recommendations have been made to the educational institution and to the respondents based on the results, the conclusions and the students’ suggestions: it is recommended that the aducational laboratories are equipped with a central and individual aspiration system (for each working space), aspiration above worktops and fireplaces, hoppers for crushing the packaging mass when releasing the cast dental structure; students are also adviced to use personal protective equipment – uniforms, protective gloves, glasses, masks, helmets
Professional organizations of dental technicians (a study of foreign practices)
Since May 2019, dental technicians in Bulgaria have had their own professional organization, with mandatory membership required by law. The aim of this article is to examine such memberships and provide a comparative analysis of the policies and strategies of professional dental technician associations abroad. To achieve this, the study employs documentary methods, a review of literary sources, internet research (via the official websites of professional dental technician organizations), and comparative analysis. In 2021, ten professional organizations of dental technicians from nine countries (Bulgaria, Romania, the United Kingdom, Malta, Greece, Russia, Norway, Germany, and Canada) were analyzed. The findings and comparative results were published in the Bulgarian Journal of Public Health, vol. 13.Due to the continued interest of both the author and her class, this current study explores nine additional professional organizations from eight different countries. Many of the policies and strategies of these organizations are strikingly similar, focusing primarily on: promoting the profession; improving practices through the adoption of new technologies; preserving jobs and enhancing competitiveness; advancing professional qualifications through postgraduate education and activity monitoring; issuing licenses for practice and certification of dental technicians; and defending and promoting the labor, economic, insurance, social, and union rights of members. These efforts aim to improve their members’ professional, cultural, and living standards while ensuring quality services for the public.
Representations and Consequences of Moral Evil in Cenușă rece by Mihaela Perciun
This article offers a literary analysis of the existential dilemmas and psychological traumas of the characters in Mihaela Perciun’s novel, Cenușă rece. The sources and the chain of causality that marked the destinies of the characters from the perspective of moral evil are particularly highlighted. We have shown that moral deviations and the constraint of freedom of conscience are what can create both social dissensions and identity fractures over time. By using black humor, the author illustrates an upside-down world, wicked and with values followed only on a declarative level, thus managing to offer us a full picture of this society. It also analyzes the drama of three generations of women and how the male character, Tudor Cocargea, marked their existence by one moral slip he committed. Thus, we found that the characters, although they are blood relatives, are devoid of affection and totally unknown to each other
Mihaela Ursa, Indisciplina ficțiunii: Viața de după carte a literaturii, Cluj-Napoca: Casa Cărții de Știință, 2022, 312 p.
In an increasingly apocalyptic climate in which the death of literature is loudly proclaimed, Mihaela Ursa refuses a nostalgic and melancholic reflection on the decline of the culture of the book. Instead, she chooses to investigate the ways in which the current media landscape has shaped the reception of fiction and how these mutations can be used in order to “revive” the classics and literature in general for a new generation of digital natives. Therefore, although this book is focused on canonical texts, the author does not intend to discuss their canonicity or their aesthetic value, but the way in which they are reappropriated through their transmedial circulation. The introductory chapter starts with the important assertion that literature is no longer the privileged road towards accessing narratives. However, instead of either mourning or praising the end of the literature-centric era, the author proposes a more useful activity: reflecting on how this change may impact our relationship with fiction. Since cultural and artistic revolutions do not manifest themselves as a destruction of previous practices in their field, the new technologies and media that are developing very rapidly do not signify the end of the book as a material support or the end of literacy as an ability, but instead their mutation and integration in a new network of narrative media. After all, as Mihaela Ursa argues, transmediality has been a trait of artistic productions since the very beginning, the rise of literature being the phenomenon actually responsible for narrowing the narrative space to its strictly written manifestation
