Portrait of a regional author - Ladislav Beran
Bakalářská práce představuje píseckého rodáka, patriota a spisovatele Ladislava Berana. ObhájenoThe bachelor thesis introduces the native of Písek, patriot and writer Ladislav Beran. Part of the paper maps important dates of his life, his creative inspiration and the work of a criminologist. I wonder if the author himself considers himself a regional author. I also analyze three of his books. I have gathered some reflections on these books, some interviews with the author, and articles about him. My main source from which I drew information was a personal meeting with the author
Karel Ladislav Kukla - observer
The aim of this bachelor thesis is to introduce the personality and works of Karel Ladislav Kukla, an author who was sidelined, in today's literary context. The thesis presents Kukla primarily as a Prague author at the turn of the 20th century, who dealt with the fate of people affected by social poverty, in his own words called "the Prague mud", against a background of significant socio-cultural changes. In his works, Kukla managed to capture, with a great deal of authenticity, significant social and cultural phenomena taking place in Prague such as the renewal and cessation of existence of the original nightclub quarters; the post-war housing situation and the emergence and development of slum colonies. In individual chapters of the thesis, the author analyses the works of Karel Ladislav Kukla in the context of the aforementioned phenomena, which are set within a broader literary-cultural framework. Key words Karel Ladislav Kukla, Prague, the turn of the 19th century, czech literature, prostitution, margin of society, renewal, slum

The aim of this diploma theses is to find philosophical, religious and ideological motifs in the work of Ladislav Fuks and subsequently interpret their origin, intertextuality and meaning in the text. The emphasis is put on proving the semantic functionality in the story. For our research, we have selected following works: Mr. Theodore Mundstock, The Cremator, and Addressing from the Darkness. We will study philosophical and theological literature, as well as materials from the archives and from the estate of Ladislav Fuks in order to base all the findings on the biographical author, too. The second chapter discusses Ladislav Fuks' relationship to philosophy, being anchored in both his friends' testimonies and the archival research of his estate. The third chapter is the most important and the most comprehensive one since it deals with the interpretation of philosophical motifs in each of the selected books. In the fourth chapter we compare individual philosophical motifs from different works with each other. We summarize the findings at the end of the theses
Ladislav Fuks and his work from the perspective of psychobiography
The aim of this bachelor's thesis is to understand the personality of the writer Ladislav Fuks using a psychobiographical approach. The thesis will incorporate selected works from his literary production, in which some taboo subjects from his private life are projected. The thesis will also include the compilation of a detailed biography of the author. Information regarding biographical data will be drawn from primary sources (the author's memoirs) and secondary literature. The study of texts about Ladislav Fuks will serve not only to gain knowledge but also to discover themes and motifs not yet sufficiently reflected upon. On this basis, an adequate text corpus will be created, compiled from selected fictional works by Ladislav Fuks. These texts will first be presented in terms of content (with an emphasis on selected motifs), then in the research part, subjected to analysis using the qualitative method of coding (the thesis will also include visualization in tables).
