    Omophron (Omophron) capense Gory, 1833: 212 Comments: Widespread species, known from Angola, Botswana, Congo, Mozambique, Namibia, RSA, Zambia and Zimbabwe. Members of different populations in some parts of its range are morphologically distinct. However, the presence of transitional forms in the structure of the apex of the aedeagus, as well as similar structure of the endophallus, prevents us from separating them with certainty into different species. However, it is possible that genetic studies will make it possible to assign a species status to the subspecies described by us.     Omophron (Omophron) capense kmecoi ssp. n. Type material. Holotype ♁: Namibia, Kavango, Rundu, Okavango riv., 16– 19.1.1999, 1050m, Rudolf Kmeco leg. [-17.906009, 19.740619] (DUBC). Paratypes: 2 ♀, idem (RKC, MNHN); Namibia, 28.II.–6.III.1994, 18°14’S / 21°43’E, Kavango: Mahango, Game Reserve, leg. U. Göllner [-18.231883, 21.720392] (1 ♀, ZMHB). Differential diagnosis. Members of this subspecies have distinctly elongate elytra, with narrow lateral borders. The sides of the pronotum are almost straight, similar to those in O. capense pumilum ssp. n., while in O. capense s.str. they are slightly rounded. The first tarsomere in males is very strongly expanded, in comparison with those other subspecies (Fig. 97). Aedeagus with wide apex, very slightly curved ventrally, with the sides of the aedeagus evenly narrow towards the apex, without the shape of a “bottleneck”. Description. Body length 4.5–4.7 mm; width 2.9–3.1 mm. Habitus (Fig. 33). Venter (Fig. 37). General taxon characteristics correspond to those given in the description of the nominate subspecies. Distinguishing features are indicated in the differential diagnosis and key. Aedeagus with weakly downturned apex. Apical lamella long, sides of aedeagus taper gradually towards the apex, without shape of a “bottle neck” (Fig. 42). Endophallus is slightly atypical for the species: both groups of spines consist of larger spines, and are located beside each other (Fig. 47). Etymology. New subspecies named after our friend and colleague Rudolf Kmeco (Czechia). Distribution.     Omophron (Omophron) amandae Valainis, 2010: 14 Material examined. MADAGASCAR: “ Andapa, Inst. Scient. Madagascar, XII.1948, leg. Capuron ”, “ Coll. Mus. Congo, Madagascar, Col.P. Basilewsky ”, “ Omophron madagascariensis P. Basilewsky det., 1952”, (Holotype ♁, MRAC); “Andapa n: 10”, “institute scientifique Madagascar ”, “coll Mus. Congo, (ex Museum Paris) Coll. P. Basilewsky ” [-14.625629, 49.689875] (1 ♁, 2 ♀, Paratypes, MRAC). Differential diagnosis. Similar to O. madagascarensis, but differ in having more rounded elytra, 15 elytral striae, a characteristic green metallic tinge on the head, pronotum and elytra, less rounded hind angles of the pronotum, and different endophallus structure. Redescription. Body length 4.8–5.0 mm; width 3.25–3.3 mm. Habitus (Fig. 53). Color: head, pronotum, and elytra rufopiceous. Dark green pattern on posterior and lateral parts of head, central portion of pronotum, and elytra with a metallic hue. Legs and antennae dark brown. Mandibles dark rufopiceous. Venter, excluding epipleura, dark rufopiceous. Proepipleura and elytral epipleura dark brown. Head moderately flat, coarsely punctate laterally and posteriorly, sparsely punctate around clypeus and on middle of frons, with punctures deep and with their sides distinctly margined. Frons faintly wrinkled around eyes. Pale pattern on head V-shaped and well-developed. Clypeus with small wrinkles, bisetose. Labrum slightly emarginate, with six setae. Subocular ridge well developed and sinuate. Antennal scape unisetose at apex, antennomeres 3 and 4 with 4–6 setae. HW: 1.68– 1.69 mm. Pronotum (PW: 2.72–2.81 mm.) moderately convex, transverse, base bisinuate, sides slightly rounded, hind angles nearly acute. Apex, base, and middle of disc densely and coarsely punctate. Sides of disc sparsely punctate, with larger and deeper punctures. Reflexed margin wide, margined and with just a few large punctures. Median line almost obsolete. Prosternum coarsely and irregularly punctate. Punctuation on the sides of prosternum and proepisterna coarser and deeper. Prosternal plate distinctly and broadly margined laterally.PL: 1.24–1.39 mm., Elytra (EL: 3.12–3.20 mm., EW: 3.34–3.37mm) moderately convex, ovate, sides hardly widened behind shoulders, with reflexed border much narrower than that of the pronotum. Elytra with 15 striae, distinct from base to more than two-thirds of the elytral length, evanescent to the apex. Striae deep, punctures deeply impressed, intervals moderately convex and smooth, more convex and narrower laterally. Venter (Fig. 55). Metasternum coarsely and irregularly punctate.     Omophron (Omophron) mimeticum sp. n. Material examined. Holotype, ♀: “ Namibia, Okavango reg., 80 km W of Divundu, 1080m, 5–6.XII.2011, Rudolf Kmeco leg.” (DUBC). Differential diagnosis. In overall appearence, similar to O. capense, but easely distinguished by punctate epipleura and ventrite VI. Description. Body length 4.8 mm; width 3.5 mm. Habitus (Fig. 23). Color: head green with light purple tinge, frons with diffused brown triangular spot; pronotum green, laterally with light purple tinge, anterior and posterior margins dark brown, sides of pronotum widely yellow, with greenish pearl tinge; elytra green, laterally with purple tinge, elytral pattern consisting of isolated and diffused, brown prescutellar spot, a large humeral spot, an oblique post-median band, extended from stria 5 to lateral margin, a preapical spot, and 3 marginal intervals connecting all other pale areas. Lateral edge of elytra narrowly greenish-pearl color. Labrum of pearl color. Legs and antennae brownish yellow. Venter rufopiceous. Head relatively flat, sparsely punctate laterally and posteriorly, with one supraorbital setiferous puncture on each side of head. Subocular ridge well developed, curved upwards and slightly rounded. Clypeus smooth, bisetose. Clypeal suture distinct. Labrum with slightly bisinuate anterior margin, moderately rounded sides and six setae. Antennal scape unisetose at apex, antenomeres 3 and 4 smooth, with a few longer setae around the apex, 5–11 pubescent. Gula slightly wrinkled, gena strongly wrinkled, coarsely and densely punctate. HW: 1.41–1.43 mm. Pronotum (PL: 1.12–1.17 mm, PW: 2.58–2.63 mm.) moderately convex, base bisinuate on each side, with wide lateral border, sides almost regularly and slightly rounded. Anterior angles acute. Disc coarsely and densely punctate, punctures sparsein center. Median impression barely visible. Prosternum, episternum, and proepipleura coarsely but sparsely punctate. Elytra (EL: 2.79–2.86 mm, EW: 2.93–3.01 mm.) strongly convex, sides regularly rounded; with 15 deep, densely punctate striae. Intervals moderately convex on the disc, distinctly convex laterally. Venter (Fig. 26). Mesepisternum sparsely punctate. Metasternum, metepisternum, metepimeron and elytral epipleura coarsely and densely punctate. Ventrites I–III coarsely punctate laterally; ventrites IV–V with 2–3 large punctures on sides and 4–6 punctures across middle; ventrite VI coarsely punctate. Aedeagus. Male unknown. Etymology. From Greek mimçtikos “imitative, good at imitating”, because at first glance, it is easy to confuse with O. capense, with which it occurs. Distribution.
