Viel, on Earth as in the Canon: A Place in the Corpus of Argentine Poetry
In order to analyze which is Héctor Viel Temperley’s place within Argentine literature, we propose to go through the edition and re-edition of his work, as well as the space he is given in poetic anthologies. Surprisingly, we have found some outstanding characteristics that come to deny his alleged absence in the national canon. On the other hand, we intend to show certain elements that illuminate some areas that have not been thoroughly studied. We shall also consider his inspiring role as an icon for younger generations of poets.Fil: Arancet Ruda, Maria Amelia. Consejo Nacional de Investigaciones Científicas y Técnicas; Argentina. Caftaric Acid Isolation from Unripe Grape: A "Green" Alternative for Hydroxycinnamic Acids Recovery
Phenolic acids represent about one-third of the dietary phenols and are widespread in vegetable and fruits. Several plants belonging to both vegetables and medical herbs have been studied for their hydroxycinnamic acid content. Among them, Echinacea purpurea is preferentially used for caffeic acid-derivatives extraction. The wine industry is a source of by-products that are rich in phenolic compounds. This work demonstrates that unripe grape juice (verjuice) presents a simple high-pressure liquid chromatography (HPLC) profile for hydroxycinnamic acids (HCAs), with a great separation of the caffeic-derived acids and a low content of other phenolic compounds when compared to E. purpurea and other grape by-products. Here it is shown how this allows the recovery of pure hydroxycinnamic acids by a simple and fast method, fast protein liquid chromatography (FPLC). In addition, verjuice can be easily obtained by pressing grape berries and filtering, thus avoiding any extraction step as required for other vegetable sources. Overall, the proposed protocol could strongly reduce the engagement of solvent in industrial phenolic extraction

"Non-cold" dark matter at small scales: A general approach
Structure formation at small cosmological scales provides an important frontier for dark matter (DM) research. Scenarios with small DM particle masses, large momenta or hidden interactions tend to suppress the gravitational clustering at small scales. The details of this suppression depend on the DM particle nature, allowing for a direct link between DM models and astrophysical observations. However, most of the astrophysical constraints obtained so far refer to a very specific shape of the power suppression, corresponding to thermal warm dark matter (WDM), i.e., candidates with a Fermi-Dirac or Bose-Einstein momentum distribution. In this work we introduce a new analytical fitting formula for the power spectrum, which is simple yet flexible enough to reproduce the clustering signal of large classes of non-thermal DM models, which are not at all adequately described by the oversimplified notion of WDM . We show that the formula is able to fully cover the parameter space of sterile neutrinos (whether resonantly produced or from particle decay), mixed cold and warm models, fuzzy dark matter, as well as other models suggested by effective theory of structure formation (ETHOS). Based on this fitting formula, we perform a large suite of N-body simulations and we extract important nonlinear statistics, such as the matter power spectrum and the halo mass function. Finally, we present first preliminary astrophysical constraints, based on linear theory, from both the number of Milky Way satellites and the Lyman-α forest. This paper is a first step towards a general and comprehensive modeling of small-scale departures from the standard cold DM model
Study on nitrogen demand and fermentation peformance of autochthonous wine yeasts selected from vineyards of important italian winemaking regions
In this study the fermentative activities of 10 wine yeasts in synthetic must supplied with three different nitrogen concentration were compared. The yeast strains tested were mine autochthonous yeasts and a commercial starter, used as control. The autochthonous strains belong to collection of 569 isolates obtained from the vineyards (by means of single grape bunch fermentation) of two important DOC areas of the Veneto Region: “Prosecco di Conegliano-Valdobbiadene” and “Piave”. Concerning these strains the main genetic and physiological aspects were deeply investigated and correlated with fermentation performances In this work 5 strains isolated from Prosecco vineyard and 4 from Raboso Piave were chosen on the basis of their interesting technological traits
