No full textIl volume presenta una fotografia delle principali trasformazioni che hanno interessato il lavoro nel corso del Novecento, con una particolare attenzione ai mutamenti più recenti (smaterializzazione, soggettivazione e flessibilità del lavoro) e ai cambiamenti prodotti nella società (con la fine della centralità del lavoro salariato di stampo fordista e la nascita di nuove figure). In questo quadro, sono poi analizzati i percorsi di successo lavorativo e di mobilità sociale mettendo a confronto una generazione di lavoratori nata e cresciuta nel campo fordista e i due soggetti sociali (le giovani generazioni e gli immigrati stranieri), nati e cresciuti invece in epoca globale e direttamente interessati dalla flessibilità e dalla atipicità contrattuale, dal lavoro sommerso e dalla difficile ricerca di una integrazione nel territorio di arrivo.
Il confronto, effettuato attraverso l'analisi della letteratura specializzata e l'utilizzo di alcune ricerche empiriche, evidenzia le forti differenze di campo esistenti, approfondendo le numerose difficoltà incontrate da coloro che entrano oggi nel mercato del lavoro

differences, the figuration of Elias suggests to analyze power differences between social groups
(established and outsider) on the basis of more or less sociological seniority. In particular, the ability
of groups with greater seniority to mantein the dominance over newcomers. This paper analyzes, in
relation to the study of integration today, the three main methods used by the established in Winston
Parva: the symbolic power and the stigma; the stereotypes and the gossip; the memory of social group.
The paper show then how these dynamics are also present in the industrial district of Prato, which was
characterized in recent years by flows of migrants

No full textDopo avere introdotto le principali teorie sul tema, il volume affronta le profonde trasformazioni che hanno interessato il tempo sociale nel corso del Novecento, evidenziandone il legame indissolubile con il lavoro.
L’avvento del neoliberismo, tuttavia, caratterizzato da processi di accelerazione e competizione senza precedenti, ha prodotto la crisi dei confini nei quali restavano inquadrate le più rigide temporalità moderne (lavoro e loisir, festività e non, giorno e notte). Tra le conseguenze più significative vi sono la presentificazione dell’esistenza, la deriva narcisistica delle relazioni e delle emozioni ed il proliferare di nuove forme di alienazione. No full textAbstract: The paper shows the main results of a research about Chinese consumers in the area of Pra-
to through the particular point of view of the Italian retailers. Despite a widespread representation
which depicts the Chinese people settled as a homogeneous «community», this group of consumers
is increasingly internal differentiated and characterized by a rather complex socio-economic strati-
fication. The emergence of local Chinese «middle classes» is associated with and can be analysed
through the lens of specific consumption patterns.
The research reveals the opportunities that the Chinese group, thanks to its local consumption and
involvement in social transnational networks, may bring to the overall host society. Therefore, the
study of consumption becomes a new and original way to understand the complexity of Chinese
migrants’ social stratification in Prato

No full textThe Food Poverty in Tuscany: A Qualitative Research on the Caritas Centres
During and after the pandemic, Tuscany also recorded a considerable increase in the number of people and families requesting food aid. The «Mirod database» of Caritas (people who use food aid services provided by the territorial Catholic Church structures) highlights this increase well, remarking a 13% increase in food aid interventions. In 2021 the Social Observatory of the Tuscany Region promoted a survey on the topic. The aim was to produce a new cognitive framework that would give voice to the users of Caritas food support services in Tuscany. The arti- cle reports the main results of the research, focusing on the following three areas of analysis: the main characteristics of food poverty in Tuscany; the impact of the pandemic emergency and the consequences on families with children; the role of the Caritas food assistance system
