Vestiges, part I & Nena and Anita vs. the powers of darkness, part I
In Vestiges, the author examines the relationship between her childhood and adolescence in a strict, Pentecostal home and her young adult life and experiences. The author uses humor and compassion to navigate her experiences, from growing up as the daughter of first generation Colombian immigrants in an incredibly controlled religious environment to finding herself at Harvard and through to her current journey as a young mother and writer. Each chapter will be structured as a self-contained essay.
In Nena and Anita vs. The Powers of Darkness, the author introduces us to Nena and Anita, twin sisters who are coming of age in a Pentecostal cult in an urban city. While the world (the 90s/00s) bustles around their home, they live in a sequestered, tightly controlled environment. Their church is particularly invested in the idea of spiritual warfare. The church’s obsession with purity and holiness culture also means that the girl’s budding sexuality and womanhood is perceived and treated as a threat. One Sunday morning, a visitor arrives in their church who changes everything. Not only does the visitor awaken the girls to their potential, sending them tumbling into their individual explorations of their own gender and sexuality, she also blesses/curses them with the gift of spiritual sight. Suddenly able to see the demons that lurk in their own home and church, the girls set out to exorcise their turf only to discover that the powers of darkness are not what they appear to be.M.F.A.Includes bibliographical reference
Projektna metoda v izobraževanju
Projektna metoda v izobraževanju odraslih in visokošolskem izobraževanju je dobra izbira zaradi naslednjih prednosti: poglablja uporabnost znanja, je naravna metoda učenja odraslih in povečuje notranjo motivacijo za samostojno izobraževanje. Odraslim omogoča neposreden prenos spoznanj v prakso, študentom pa daje potrebno samozavest in potrditev, da je znanje moč uporabiti v realnem življenju. Teoretiki projektno metodo različno poimenujejo, in sicer projektno delo, projektno učenje, projektno učno delo ipd. Povezujejo jo z raziskovalnim pristopom, s študijo primera, problemskim poučevanjem, z učenjem ali poučevanjem s projekti, samostojnim učenjem, z izkustvenim učenjem in še s čim. Nekateri govorijo o projektno zasnovanem učenju. Menimo, da je v izobraževanju odraslih pa tudi v visokošolskem izobraževanju najenostavnejša in najsmotrnejša uporaba izraza »projektna metoda«. Za projektno metodo je ključnega pomena ciljna usmerjenost, samostojnost, odgovornost, dalj časa trajajoča zavzetost učečega in povezanost problema s prakso. Izrazje sicer star približno sto let, ko ga je prvič uporabil Kilpatrick za kmetijsko izobraževanje. So pa izobraževanje s projekti uporabljali že v šestnajstem stoletju v Rimu in Parizu, v okviru študija arhitekture in tehnologije. Dandanes, ko je uporabnost znanj še kako aktualna, ko je samostojnost in odgovornost vseh, ki se izobražujejo, premalo poudarjena, je projektna metoda pogost odgovor na vprašanje, kako do kompetenc in ciljev, ki si jih zastavljamo v izobraževalnem procesu
Prihodnost izobraževanja odraslih v Evropi - inovacije v izobraževanju odraslih in oblike sodelovanja z Evropo
Prispevek je nastal na podlagi raziskovalnega potočila »Eurodelphy« z naslovom Prihodnost izobraževanja odraslih v Evropi. Osredini se na novosti v izobraževanju odraslih v Sloveniji, kjer ugotavljamo, da smo po pogostosti na tretjem mestu med šestnajstimi evropskimi državami. V zadnjih dveh letih je bilo največ novosti na področju komunikacij in osebnostnega razvoja, najbolj pa smo za drugimi zaostajali pri cilju sodelovati kot državljan. Povezovanje z Evropo se podobno kot v drugih državah najpogosteje uveljavlja pri izmenjavi znanja in izkušenj (know-how) in pri usposabljanju zaposlenih, zaostajamo pa pri oblikovanju skupne ponudbe in pri razvijanju mrež. Za porazdeljeno odgovornost in za uvedbo začetne kvalifikacije se zavzemamo prav tako intenzivno kot drugod, vendar pa od države pričakujemo več odločnosti pri zagotavljanju temeljnih možnosti za spremembe, ki bi nas glede razvoja izobraževanja odraslih približale evropskim tokovom
Dejanske in imaginarne knjižnice v povezavi z neskončnostjo
Knjižnice kot institucije, arhitekture, zbirke, simbole in metafore med drugim bistveno določa tudi pojem neskončnosti. Oblike neskončnosti se lahko pojavljajo v dejanskih knjižnicah (v arhitekturi, klasifikaciji in razvrščanju zbirk, vsebini gradiva, simboliki), v imaginarnih knjižnicah (ki nastopajo v imaginarnih krajih in zanje ne veljajo zakoni znanega časa, prostora in perspektiv) in nevidnih knjižnicah (ki se razlikujejo od bralca do bralca, niso omenjane v tekstih, bralci pa jih lahko vnašajo sami in z njimi poselijo določene kraje in svetove v zgodbah). Članek prikaže, kako v dejanske knjižnice lahko prek ustvarjalne naravnanosti in ostrenja čuta za neskončnost vdirajo podobe imaginarnih knjižnic, lahko pa tudi podobe nevidnih knjižnic, in jih na različne načine bogatijo
Rancang Bangun Website E-Commerce Kustomisasi Pemesanan Produk Handicraft (Studi Kasus : UMKM Nena Namo)
Usaha Mikro, Kecil, dan Menengah Nena Namo merupakan kerajinan unggulan handicraft yang memanfaatkan karung goni dan kain blaco sebagai bahan dasar pembuatan produknya. UMKM Nena Namo juga mempunyai keunikan lain yang menjadikan produk buatannya memiliki ciri khas yaitu desain motif yang di lukis secara manual menggunakan tangan. Produk handicraft yang dipasarkan beraneka ragam seperti tas, dompet, kotak tisu, sapu tangan, tudung saji, kotak pensil, taplak meja dan lain sebagainya. Mekanisme penjualan pada UMKM Nena Namo saat ini hanya sebatas customer memesan melalui sms dan telepon atau datang langsung ke rumah produksi UMKM Nena Namo.
Melihat kondisi terkini proses bisnis UMKM Nena Namo dan pesatnya perkembangan teknologi informasi, mendorong penulis untuk merancang website e-commerce yang dapat membantu menyederhanakan proses bisnis dan membuatnya lebih cepat dan efisisen. Mengingat keunikan atau ciri khas dari produk handicraft UMKM Nena Namo adalah terletak pada desain lukisnya, maka website e-commerce ini akan dilengkapi dengan fitur kustomisasi untuk membuat desain. Pada fitur tersebut nantinya akan disediakan satu halaman khusus untuk mendesain produk sesuai keinginan customer. Pembuatan website e-commerce menggunakan bahasa pemrograman php dan framework CodeIgniter (CI). Metode pengembangan perangkat lunak yang digunakan sebagai acuan kerja adalah metode Waterfall. Website e-commerce UMKM Nena Namo juga dilengkapi dengan sms gateway, sehingga penjual maupun pembeli bisa mendapatkan informasi transaksi melalui sms.
Produk akhir yang dihasilkan dalam tugas akhir ini adalah website e-commerce UMKM Nena Namo yang dilengkapi dengan fitur kustomisasi untuk mendesain produk secara langsung pada website dan customer mendapatkan informasi transaksi pembelian melalui sms.

Nena Namo is a leading handicraft micro small medium entreprise (MSME), which utilizes burlap sack and blaco fabrics as the main materials of its products. Nena Namo’s other uniqueness is it produces homemade product designs which are manually painted by hands. A wide range of handicrafts are marketed by the entreprise, including bags, wallets, tissue boxes, handkerchiefs, pencil boxes, and tableclothes. The mechanism of sales implemented at Nena Namo is currently limited by receiving consumers’ orders via short message service (SMS) and phonecall, as well as from buyers who directly purchase in Nena Namo’s production house.
Regarding the latest condition of Nena Namo and the rapid development of information technology, has encouraged author to design an e-commerce webiste in accordance with the business process. Considering that the uniqueness or characteristic of the handicrafts by Nena Namo is in the designs painting, this e-commerce website will be equipped with customization features. On the developed e-commerce website, will be provided a special page to design products according to consumers’ desires. The e-commerce website will employ php programming language and Code Igniter (CI) framework. The reference used in the software development is Waterfall method. Nena Namo’s e-commerce site also works based on SMS gateway, therefore sellers and buyers can access transaction informations through SMS.
The final outcome generated in this final project is an e-commerce website equipped with customization feature, where the consumers can design their own Nena Namo’s handicrafts, directly from the website. Besides, buyers can obtain necessary purchasing transaction informations through SMS as this website works based on SMS gateway
Eremita alter philosophus: pojmovanje askeze v poganski in krščanski filozofiji
Starting from the designation of the desert as the most suitable place for devotion to philosophy, as alluded to in the Praise of the Desert (De laude eremi) by Eucherius of Lyon, the article explores the Christian reception of ancient pagan philosophy concerning asceticism. In line with Hadot’s conception of ancient philosophy as a way of life, the article focuses on the concept and practice of asceticism, expressed in the form of “spiritual exercises” or physical endurance. While both dimensions of asceticism existed in classical Greek philosophy, physical isolation – the departure of Christian ascetics into the desert – proves to be the differentia specifica of Christian asceticism. The article highlights the identification of philosophy with monasticism and follows its assimilation into the context of Christian asceticism, which places isolation among the fundamental criteria of “philosophy.”Izhajajoč iz označitve puščave kot najprimernejšega kraja za posvečanje filozofiji, ki jo v Hvalnici puščave (De laude eremi) poda Evherij Lyonski, članek raziskuje krščansko recepcijo antične poganske filozofije, zlasti z ozirom na askezo. V skladu s Hadotovim pojmovanjem antične filozofije kot načina življenja se v prvi polovici osredotoča na koncept in prakso askeze, ki se je izražala v obliki »duhovnih vaj« ali telesne vzdržnosti. Ob ugotovitvi, da sta obe dimenziji askeze obstajali že v klasični grški filozofiji, se kot differentia specifica krščanske askeze izkaže fizična osamitev – odhod krščanskih asketov v puščavo. Članek tako v drugi polovici izpostavi poistovetenje filozofije z meništvom in sledi njeni asimilaciji v kontekst krščanske askeze, ki osamitev umesti med temeljne kriterije »filozofije«
«Abuelos de negra estirpe». Cuerpo, oralidad e identidad en María Teresa Ramírez, María Elcina Valencia y Nena Cantillo
The term “Afro-Colombian literature” refers to a concept under construction for which each author contributes their particular vision. In this paper, we promote a dialogue with three authors who share the place of enunciation of the black woman: María Teresa Ramírez (1944) in La noche de mi piel, María Elcina Valencia (1963) in Pentagrama de pasión, and Nena Cantillo (1981) in Aquella noche con Winnie the Pooh. We choose three axes: body, orality and identity. Regarding the body, in the three books the woman is associated with nature, although it varies greatly in the relationship with the male body. Orality is very present in the three works, although in different ways: connection with ancestral songs, with the sounds of nature and with the colloquial speech of the city, respectively. In terms of identity, we find great differences between Ramírez's pan-Africanist vision, Valencia's ecosophy and Cantillo's radical openness. In the conclusions, we discuss the variety of approaches, the possible causes and the richness that they contribute to the concept of “Afro-Colombianity”.El término «poesía afrocolombiana» se refiere a un concepto en construcción para el que cada autor aporta su visión particular. En el presente artículo, establecemos un diálogo con tres autoras que comparten el lugar de enunciación de la mujer negra: María Teresa Ramírez (1944) en La noche de mi piel, María Elcina Valencia (1963) en Pentagrama de pasión y Nena Cantillo (1981) en Aquella noche con Winnie the Pooh. Para ello, trabajamos en torno a tres ejes: cuerpo, oralidad e identidad. Respecto al cuerpo, en los tres libros la mujer se asocia a la naturaleza, aunque varía mucho en la vinculación con el cuerpo masculino. La oralidad está muy presente en las tres obras, pero en diferentes formas: conexión con cantos ancestrales, con los sonidos de la naturaleza y con el habla coloquial de la urbe, respectivamente. En cuanto a la identidad, encontramos grandes diferencias entre la visión panafricanista de Ramírez, la ecosofía de Valencia y la apertura radical de Cantillo. En las conclusiones, discutimos la variedad de enfoques, las posibles causas y la riqueza que aportan para el concepto de «afrocolombianidad»
Dogovor o v samoizobraževanju - Dogovor o samoizobraževanju, osebni učni načrt, učni dogovor ali učna pogodba?
There are four different expressions to describe the method of learning, which increases the efficiency of adult learning. The article explains the translation of »learning contract« into Slovene as a method in adult learning area, which came in use in USA in 1970, also in organizations offering formal education. In the period of lifelong learning, when everyone is supposed to be able to learn efficiently from different sources it is even more important to have the skills to plan our learning. Learning contract develops these competencies and has already become established in organizations, which support learning processes. Learning contract is slowly gaining ground also to the area of formal education. Learning contract is an agreement in writing between two people, where one of them offers advice, the other undertakes the learning process. How do we prepare the agreement, who is responsible for its preparation and execution? Learning contract in writing explains objectives, techniques, strategies and how the learning process will be assessed. At the same time, learning is also limited in time. It is a strong motivational took, since it comprises needs of an individual and is adapted to the interests and learning style of a particular individual. This is especially suitable method for acquiring competencies, for field work and experiential learning at work. Learning contract is very suitable and efficient also for independent academical studies, especially when combined with the method of discussion.Kar štirje izrazi so na voljo za podobna prizadevanja oziroma metoda izobraževanja, ki poveča učinkovitost izobraževanja odraslih !judi. V prispevku avtorici utemeljita prevod izraza »learning contract« v dogovor o samoizobraževanju kot metoda v izobraževanju odraslih, ki so jo zaceli pogosteje tudi v institucijah za formalno izobraževanje uporabljati v ZDA že okoli leta 1970. V času vseživljenjskega učenja, ko naj bi se vsakdo znal tudi uspešno učiti iz najrazličnejših virov, je se toliko pomembnejše, da znamo svoje izobraževanje načrtovati. Te kompetence razvija ravno metoda dogovora 0 samoizobraževanju, ki je že osvojila uspešna učeča se podjetja, počasi pa si utira pot tudi v forma/no izobraževanje. Dogovor o samoizobraževanju je pisni dogovor med najmanj dvema osebama, kjer bo ena oseba svetovala, druga pa se bo samoizobraževala. Kako pripravimo dogovor in kdo je odgovoren za njegovo pripravo in izpeljavo? Z dogovorom o samoizobraževanju (Sf) v pisni obliki pojasnimo cilje, tehnike, strategije in načina evalvacije izobraževalnega procesa. Hkrati pa izobraževanje tudi časovno opredelimo. Je močno motivacijsko sredstvo, ker izhaja iz potreb osebe, prilagajamo ga interesom in učnemu slogu osebe. Predvsem je to primerna metoda za pridobivanje kompetenc, za terensko delo in izkustveno učenje na delovnem mestu. Dogovor je zelo primeren in učinkovit tudi za samostojen akademski študij, se posebej, kadar ga kombiniramo z metoda pogovora in diskusije
Potential socio-economic impact of xylella fastidiosa in the near east and north africa (Nena): Risk of introduction and spread, risk perception and socio-economic effects
The serious damages of Xylella fastidiosa (Xf) in Euro-Mediterranean countries (e.g. Italy, France, Spain) raise concerns for the Near East and North Africa (NENA). Therefore, a study was performed to a) assess the risk of Xf entry, establishment and spread in target NENA countries (viz. Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Palestine, Syria, Tunisia); b) analyze risk perception and preparedness level among agri-food chain stakeholders; c) estimate potential socio-economic impacts for olives, grapes and citrus. Pest risk appraisal suggests that Morocco, Lebanon, Palestine and Syria are the most exposed to Xf risk; other target NENA countries, except Algeria, have an intermediate risk. Risk perception analysis shows that governance efficacy and practices application can be improved by involving stakeholders and raising their awareness. Socio-economic impact assessment indicates declining yields, production, profitability, export, employment, and increasing import, with the highest impacts relating to olives, then citrus and grapes. The study suggests that the expected socio-economic impacts are unacceptable and require urgent action against Xf at national and regional levels
