    Hall, Giles - Audio Oral History Interview - CSWA ❧ Interviewed by September 25, 1989. An interview with Giles Hall as he discusses his entrance into the field of social work; his various roles and positions held throughout his professional career; other activities he has been involved in regarding social work and volunteering. ❧ A Los Angeles native, Giles hall is descended from an early California family. His wife's grandfather was Ozra Childs, who came to Los Angeles in the 1850s, made a fortune in real estate as well as a horticulturist, and was one of three contributors of the land on which the University of Southern California was established in 1880. Giles Hall was, for many years, the Director of Personnel for Electrodynamics Corporation in Pasadena; when it was taken over by another company, he went to the California Institute of Technology to head its Industrial Relations Council, where he remained until his death in the early 1990s. He was an active volunteer with a number of Pasadena and California organizations. ❧ Giles Hall (1903-1990). Volunteer with social welfare agencies and organizations.
