No full textIl saggio si prefigge di rivolgere l’attenzione verso alcuni modelli organizzativi e alcune soluzioni istituzionali rinvenibili nell’esperienza internazionale, segnatamente nei paesi di matrice anglosassone, che hanno visto negli ultimi decenni crescente interesse da parte degli studiosi di differenti discipline e da parte del legislatore. Si tratta di modelli e soluzioni che hanno come protagonista la “comunità”, intesa in senso più o meno comprensivo, e come tratto distintivo il suo coinvolgimento (o engagement) ed il suo empowerment: essi risultano pertanto più o meno tangenti o riconducibili alla logica insita nel principio della sussidiarietà orizzontale, sullo sfondo di un modello di Stato “attivatore” e “facilitatore” (enabling State) del potenziale endogeno della società civil

No full textThe sinking of photosynthetically produced organic carbon from the ocean surface to its interior is a significant term in the global carbon cycle. Most sinking organic carbon is, however, remineralized in the mesopelagic zone (∼100 m–1000 m), thereby exerting control over ocean-atmosphere carbon dioxide (CO2) partitioning and hence global climate. Sinking particles are considered hotspots of microbial respiration in the dark ocean. However, our observations in the contrasting Scotia Sea and the Benguela Current show that >90% of microbial remineralisation is associated with suspended, rather than sinking, organic matter, resulting in rapid turnover of the suspended carbon pool and demonstrating its central role in mesopelagic carbon cycling. A non-steady-state model indicates that temporally variable particle fluxes, particle injection pumps and local chemoautotrophy are necessary to help balance the observed mesopelagic respiration. Temperature and oxygen exert control over microbial respiration, particularly for the suspended fraction, further demonstrating the susceptibility of microbial remineralisation to the ongoing decline in oxygen at mid-ocean depths. These observations suggest a partial decoupling of carbon cycling between non-sinking and fast-sinking organic matter, challenging our understanding of how oceanic biological processes regulate climate.</p
Robot-assisted therapy in upper extremity hemiparesis: Overview of an evidence-based approach

Robot-mediated therapy is an innovative form of rehabilitation that enables highly repetitive, intensive, adaptive, and quantifiable physical training. It has been increasingly used to restore loss of motor function, mainly in stroke survivors suffering from an upper limb paresis. Multiple studies collated in a growing number of review articles showed the positive effects on motor impairment, less clearly on functional limitations. After describing the current status of robotic therapy after upper limb paresis due to stroke, this overview addresses basic principles related to robotic therapy applied to upper limb paresis. We demonstrate how this innovation is an evidence-based approach in that it meets both the improved clinical and more fundamental knowledge-base about regaining effective motor function after stroke and the need of more objective, flexible and controlled therapeutic paradigms

No full textLes contraintes rencontrees par les paysans du Nordeste bresilien ne sont pas exceptionnelles, elles existent dans de nombreuses autres regions. L'experimentation conduite pendant une campagne pour comparer 6 "systemes de culture:, en traction animale, merite a notre avis d'etre connue, meme s'il n'est pas encore possible, faute de resultats suffisants, d'en tirer des conclusions definitives. La demarche utilisee, prenant en compte le rendment final, mais aussi les aspects "temps de travaux" et "valorisation des pluies", est tres interessante, d'autant plus qu'elle associe etroitement la technique culturale aux materiels utilises, ceux-ci etant parfois indispensables a la mise, en oeuvre d'une technique culturale aux materiels utilises, ceux-ci etant parfois indispensables a la mise en oeuvre d'une technique (cas du cloisonneur de sillons). Nour verrons que le cloisonnement des sillons, souvent appele "tie-ridging", donne de bons resultats, mais eil est tres exigeant en main-d'oeuvre a um moment ou celle-ci est rarement disponible, la mecanisation de cette operation est donc necessaire. Cette situation est rencontree ailleurs, notamment en Afrique de l'Ouest-Burkina Faso par exemple - ou l'interet de la technique a ete demontre, mais sa vulgarisation en milieu paysan n'est pas facile. Dans tous les cas les materiels doivent rester a la portee des paysans (simplicite et bas prix)

Lanz Duret fue presidente de la Barra Mexicana de Abogados, profesor de Derecho constitucional en la Univ. Nacional, diputado, presidente de la Compañía Periodística Nacional y autor de Derecho constitucional mexicano y Consideraciones sobre la realidad política de nuestro régimen. A éste le sucedió su hijo Miguel Lanz Duret S., quien desempeñó la dirección de E. U. desde 1940 a 1959. Abogado, periodista y militar, n. en México el 12 en. 1909, y m. en la misma ciudad el 24 mar. 1959. Propuso la creación del Trib. Interamericano de Libertad de Prensa, del cual fue presidente, así como de la Soc. Interamericana de Prensa, de 1953 a 1954, y del Banco de las Artes Gráficas, S. A.; en 1946, recibió el premio Cabot de periodismo. En 1937, Lanz Duret S. casó con Francisca Dolores Valdés, quien, al enviudar, se puso al frente del diario; la penúltima etapa fue cubierta por Miguel Lanz Duret V., de 1961 a 1969. Desde esta fecha, es presidente y director general el lic. Juan Francisco Ealy. Ortiz
