Innovazione, impresa e competitività territoriale nel Mezzogiorno
This volume presents an interdisciplinary reflection on the opportunities and limits of the productive, economic and social system of the italian "Mezzogiorno" (Southern Italy), through an analysis of both quantitative and qualitative multiple processes in place. The authors investigate, in this way, some of the most relevant aspects concerning the relevance of the "Mezzogiorno", articulating a complex mosaic of proposals aiming to trace new paths of competitiveness and economic change. The complexity, diversity, the extreme fragmentation of southern part of Italy constitute a major challenge for the preparation of consistent development strategies . Is, therefore, a priority a careful evaluation and a careful selection of each potential present in the region which, taken out of the isolation of their respective niches of excellence may become key drivers of growth

Il Mezzogiorno e la rete. Tra occasioni di integrazione e nuove possibili marginalità

Practical contingencies, then, to which we must add the fact that the changed approach to discipline has also a purely epistemological roots that produced a real "cultural change".
The contributions collected in this volume, presented at the conference "The cultural turn in geography", in the work of the International Geographic Union Commission on Cultural Approach in Geography (Gorizia, September 2003), analyze the condition of Southern Italy
