Among the extraordinary undertakings carried out by Paul V, the Borghese chapel in Santa Maria Maggiore is probably the one which, more than the others, reflects the most intimate aspects of his personality. The pope had it built immediately at the beginning of his pontificate, between 1605 and 1610, and endowed it with economic resources so that every Saturday the solemn devotion of the Salve was celebrated with the participation of a permanent music chapel made up of eight singers, an organist and a maestro. The article reconsiders the establishment of the music chapel in the light of Paul V's relationship with music. Furthermore, some hypotheses are presented about the repertoire of the chapel in the early years of its history
Villa Borghese
The east garden, view looking northeast over the garden; [The villa built by the architect Flaminio Ponzio, developing sketches by Scipione Borghese, (nephew of Pope Paul V and later Cardinal Borghese) who used it as a villa suburbana, a party villa, at the edge of Rome, and to house his art collection. Wikipedia entry] Scipione came to hold numerous different posts, which gave him a considerable income and allowed him to increase the family properties as well as indulge his passion for collecting. In Rome, Scipione had the Villa Borghese built (1612-1615), which he used to house his extraordinary collection of antique and contemporary sculpture. This included several pieces by Bernini, whose work he was one of the first to collect. His painting collection, originally housed in the Palazzo Borghese, consisted of works by such Old Masters as Titian as well as many by contemporary painters, including Caravaggio. SCIPIONE BORGHESE: ACTOR PROTAGONIST ÎN ȚINUTURILE TUSCOLANE
Scipione Borghese: Leading Actor on Tuscan Lands. The contribution focuses on the figure of Cardinal Scipione Borghese (1577-1633) and on the role he playedas patron of the arts in the Colli Albani area, in particular in the city of Frascati (located 20 kilometers east of Rome). The cardinal, nephew of Pope Paul V Borghese and very important personality of the Roman curia, is investigated hereas a promoter of the arts and in particular as the patron of many architectural and landscape arrangements made on the hills of Frascati. The villas purchased by the Borghese family under went enlargement, reconstruction and decoration (such as Villa Taverna, Villa Torlonia, Villa Mondragone and Villa Grazioli). The cardinal and the Villas moved a lot of money and many artistic workers (architects, painters, sculptors, plasterers, masons, etc.) that made Frascati the Petrified testimony of the economic, political and cultural ideas of the Borghese himself.
RIASSUNTO. Scipione Borghese: attore protagonista nelle terre tuscolane.

Multiscale models for data processing : an experimental sensitivity analysis
Hierarchical radial basis functions (HRBFs) networks have been recently introduced as a tool for adaptive multiscale image reconstruction from range data. These are based on local operation on the data and are able to give a sparse approximation. In this paper, HRBFs are reframed for the regular sampling case, and they are compared with wavelet decomposition.
Results show that HRBFs, thanks to their constructive approach to approximation, are much more tolerant on errors in the parameters when errors occur in the configuration phase

HBIM-Based Decision-Making Approach for Sustainable Diagnosis and Conservation of Historical Timber Structures
Historical timber roofs play a significant role in architectural heritage, as listed in the World Heritage List protected by UNESCO. Despite their complexity, they are frequently lacking in maintenance, with the consequence that only a few original examples have been preserved until today, contradicting the principle of minimum intervention. In the paper, a decision-making approach has been proposed for the best and most sustainable solution, in which tradition and innovation meet to achieve the maximum quality with minimum intervention. With an emphasis on sustainability (environmental, economic, technological, historic, and social), analyses have been carried out in order to compare various intervention alternatives, modeled in a Heritage-Building Information Modeling (HBIM) environment, assessed using the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP), and implemented with the multi-criteria Modelo Integrado de cuantificacion de Valor para Edificacion Sostenibles (MIVES) methodology. The case study is the roof of the Michelangelo Cloister in the Diocletian Baths in Rome, which is a significant example of historical timber roofs. The results are given in terms of a quantitative sustainability index SI, which takes into account different alternatives of intervention, including the task of diagnosis
