Rob Lorei Oral History Interview
Oral history interview with Rob Lorei, News and Public Affairs Director for WMNF-FM, a community radio station in Tampa, Florida. Lorei was one of the founding members of the station, which went on the air in 1979, and played a pivotal role in its inception and development. Vicki Santa Oral History Interview
Oral history interview with Vicki Santa, station manager for WMNF-FM, a community radio station in Tampa, Florida. Santa came to Tampa in 1972, graduated from the University of South Florida, and then moved to Gainesville for a few years. She returned to Tampa in 1979 just as WMNF-FM was going on the air, and she soon became a contributor. In the early 1980s she started volunteering at the station and answering the phone during fundraising drives. Santa started working at WMNF in 1998, leaving her longtime job in construction, when the station was looking for a development director. In 2000 she became the interim station manager and then the station manager. In this interview, she describes her job responsibilities, with particular emphasis on fundraising, volunteers, concerts and community involvement, ratings and audience size, and programming. Santa was the station manager until 2008, when she stepped down due to health problems; she died later that year
