    No full text
Given the focus on a multi-stakeholder approach in the implementation of the GCR, it was considered important to conduct the gender audit of the the UNHCR Consultations with NGOs which took place immediately following the Second preparatory meeting for the Global Refugee Forum, from the 3rd to 5th July. The agenda for the first two days of these consultations addressed the over-arching theme of ‘Working together Better’, while the third day was devoted to the planning of Global Refugee Forum, December 2019. In total over 500 people participated in the consultations with approximately 40 of these being refugee representatives. There were six plenary sessions, two each day and 20 Thematic panels and workshops. This report details the findings and makes reccommendations for a stronger Gender focus in the preparations for the Global Refugee Forum

Findings from a 2018 Phone Survey of Afghan Returnees and UNHCR Data

This report is the result of a collaboration between the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and the Poverty and Equity Global Practice of the World Bank Group (WBG). Repatriation or the return of refugees to their country of origin has been rarely studied, and data on their socio-economic outcomes is sparsely available. In such a context, the World Bank and UNHCR teams attempted to make good use of the existing data sources and complemented it with new data collection methods to better understand the patterns and characteristics of recent Afghan refugee returns. More specifically, the team attempted to analytically connect insights between different data sources to explore (albeit imperfectly) questions of selection among Afghans who remained in Pakistan and those documented returnees who returned to Afghanistan
