Neoliberal policy for basic education: the new high school and the challenges faced by geography teachers
No full textEsta pesquisa visa compreender por meio das literaturas e percepções empíricas dos docentes, como a Reforma do Novo de Ensino e as políticas públicas que seguem esse mesmo viés neoliberal podem impactar a educação pública e na vida docente dos professores de geografia, afetados com a redução da carga horária de geografia no Ensino Médio. Diante das recentes limitações orçamentarias que tem sido impostas desde a implantação da lei do Novo Ensino Médio e das limitações curriculares presentes tanto na Base Nacional Comum Curricular (BNCC), como também em relação as exigências curriculares do governo do estado de São Paulo, por exemplo o Currículo Paulista Etapa Ensino Médio (CPEM), como os docentes de geografia estão contemplando sua carga horária e quais os percursos didático pedagógicos estão desenvolvendo nas escolas da educação básica do Estado de São Paulo? Para tanto, este trabalho apresenta uma análise teórico-bibliográfica e documental, sobre as atuais reformas educacionais e orçamentárias, além da aplicação de um questionário qualitativo aplicado a docentes de diferentes cidades do Estado de São Paulo. Como resultados, vemos, por um lado, que estamos diante de reformas de cunho neoliberal, que visam abrir os recursos destinados por lei à
educação, para benefício da iniciativa privada. E, por outro lado, os professores de geografia, para complementar sua carga horária que foi reduzida, necessitam se dedicar a itinerários formativos, projetos de vida e outros componentes curriculares, nos quais desenvolvem temas e conteúdo que nem sempre passam por aquilo que aprenderam na sua formação inicial.This research aims to understand, through literature and empirical perceptions of teachers, how
the New High School Reform and public policies aligned with neoliberal tendencies can impact
public education and the teaching profession of geography teachers. These educators are
affected by the reduction of geography class hours in high school. In the face of recent
budgetary limitations imposed since the implementation of the New High School law and the
curricular constraints present in both the National Common Curricular Base (BNCC) and the
curricular requirements of the state of São Paulo, such as the Paulista High School Curriculum
(CPEM), how are geography teachers managing their workload and what didactic-pedagogical
approaches are they developing in basic education schools in the state of São Paulo? Therefore,
this work presents a theoretical-bibliographic and documentary analysis of current educational
and budgetary reforms, in addition to the application of a qualitative questionnaire to teachers
from different cities in the state of São Paulo. As a result, on the one hand, we observe that we
are facing neoliberal reforms that aim to open up resources allocated by law to education for
the benefit of the private sector. On the other hand, geography teachers, to supplement their
reduced class hours, need to dedicate themselves to formative itineraries, life projects, and other
curricular components, in which they develop themes and content that do not always align with
what they learned in their initial training

No full textRealizada na cidade de Presidente Prudente – SP, com apoio da Fundação de Amparo à Pesquisa no Estado de São Paulo (FAPESP), a presente pesquisa teve por objetivo geral entender a dinâmica da fragmentação socioespacial, partindo da experiência de jovens menos favorecidos/as, ligados à coletivos ou culturas juvenis, visando entender a leitura que fazem a partir de suas posicionalidades na cidade, bem como compreender os saberes que circulam nesses coletivos/culturas. Os objetivos específicos tiveram intenção de acessar como essas jovens instituem e negociam suas diferenças e suas pautas, tematizadas nos coletivos juvenis e nos espaços formais de aprendizagem, nesse caso, na Escola Fernando Costa, espaço onde estudam as/os participantes da pesquisa, assim como entender suas diferentes experiências, conflitos e construções identitárias enquanto moradores da cidade de Presidente Prudente. Produzida durante a pandemia da Covid-19, a pesquisa teve de se adaptar metodologicamente à essa conjuntura, portanto, as metodologias foram realizadas inteiramente à distância, passando pelo levantamento bibliográfico, aplicação de questionário, entrevistas, netnografia, sistematização dos dados e escrita e conclusão dos resultados, apresentados todos no presente trabalho. Por conta deste contexto, houve também limitações quanto ao atendimento aos objetivos inicialmente propostos. Não acessamos propriamente jovens de coletivos juvenis, mas aqueles que se disponibilizaram em participar. Concluímos que há uma profunda conexão entre o espaço escolar, a cidade e as juventudes, jovens que produzem, aprendem e compartilham saberes, por vezes conflituosos, através de suas variadas experiências enquanto estudantes, citadinos e participantes de culturas juvenis.Carried out in the city of Presidente Prudente - SP, with the support of the Foundation for Research Support in the State of São Paulo (FAPESP), this research had the general objective of understanding the dynamics of socio-spatial fragmentation, based on the experience of underprivileged young people, linked to collectives or youth cultures, aiming to understand the reading they make from their positionalities in the city, as well as to understand the knowledge that circulates in these collectives/cultures. The specific objectives had the intention of accessing how these young people institute and negotiate their differences and their agendas, themed in juvenile collectives and in formal learning spaces, in this case, in the Fernando Costa School, where the research participants study, as well as to understand their different experiences, conflicts, and identity constructions as residents of the city of Presidente Prudente. Produced during the Covid-19 pandemic, the research had to adapt methodologically to this conjuncture, therefore, the methodologies were carried out entirely at a distance, going through the bibliographical survey, questionnaire application, interviews, netnography, data systematization and writing and concluding the results, all presented in this report. Because of this context, there were also limitations as to the fulfillment of the objectives initially proposed. We did not exactly access young people from juvenile collectives, but those who were willing to participate. We concluded that there is a deep connection between the school space, the city, and the young people, young people who produce, learn, and share knowledge, sometimes conflicting, through their varied experiences as students, city dwellers, and participants of juvenile cultures.Fundação de Amparo à Pesquisa do Estado de São Paulo (FAPESP)FAPESP: 2018/07701-

No full textEste trabalho tem como intuito estudar o Centro Integrado de Educação de Jovens e Adultos Campo Limpo, situado na zona sul do Município de São Paulo, como alternativa para a EJA na cidade, enquanto potência criativa e inovadora na educação, a partir de uma proposta de educação pública, territorializada, popular, comunitária, social e cidadã. A partir desse contexto inicial temos como questão principal apreender como o Cieja CL sobrevive, como resiste perante os tensionamentos impostos dentro das dificuldades e precariedades enfrentadas cotidianamente, utilizando como recorte temporal a abertura do Cemes, em 1993 até o momento de realização da pesquisa, em 2022. O objetivo geral é identificar como os sujeitos da comunidade Cieja CL (gestão, professores, funcionários, servidores, parceiros) constroem o centro enquanto

No full textO objeto desta tese centra-se na apreensão e análise da sociabilidade juvenil no meio urbano, considerando o tempo, o espaço, as redes e os territórios. A abordagem, por isso, tem como foco o processo de constituição de um lugar, ao longo do tempo e como as práticas e espaços de sociabilidade disponíveis foram se transformando no processo, ou sendo alteradas pelas próprias transformações na sociedade local, sempre em articulação com contextos relacionais mais amplos. Para desenvolver essa perspectiva analítica, aborda-se, primeiramente, diferentes gerações (de 1950 e 1970) que viveram sua juventude na cidade, tendo-se como procedimento metodológico o trabalho com a memória. Num segundo momento, procura-se considerar a contemporaneidade da sociabilidade juvenil na cidade, pensando nos múltiplos processos que estão envolvidos na constituição das redes de sociabilidade. Para isso, trabalha-se a partir de duas culturas juvenis transterritoriais, que ganharam condições de possibilidade na cidade, que se ampliou e fragmentou ao longo do tempo. Tratam-se das culturas juvenis punk e hip-hop. Estas também são abordadas a partir da memória, que visa reconstruir a trajetória histórica de cada uma delas na cidade e o processo de constituição localizada das redes de sociabilidade que elas geraram...The objective of this thesis is based on the apprehension and on the analysis of the youthful sociability in urban areas taking in account the time, the space, the interrelationships and territories. Therefore the approach focus on the process of constitution of a place over time and also on how the practice and the spaces of sociability available became the process or were changed by the shifts in the local society always linked with larger related processes. Through an analytic perspective the study highlights firstly two different generations (1950 and 1970) that lived their youth in the city. The methodological procedure adopted to reach this aim was the work with the memory. At a second moment, the contemporaneity of the youth sociability is pointed out and multiple processes involved in the constitution of networks of sociability are examined. With this aim, the study has developed from two transterritorial youthful cultures that have reached the conditions of possibility in the city, which has become broader and more fragmented over time. This work draws attention to the punk and the hip-hop cultures. These cultures are also approached from the memory which tries to rebuild the historical trajectory of each event analyzed in the city and the process of constitution located in the networks of sociability that they generated... PUNK AND HIP-HOP AS SOCIAL MOVEMENTS?
Get PDFAbordo aqui duas culturas juvenis transterritoriais – Punk e Hip-Hop –, problematizando a possibilidade de considerá-las como novos sujeitos políticos, territorializados no lugar. Inicio o texto situando o conjunto de preocupações, que tem direcionado minha atenção: as relações entre sociabilidade e cidade, no espaço-tempo. Punk e Hip-Hop colocam-se como possibilidades de identificação para jovens, situados em diversos lugares da cidade, construírem suas redes de sociabilidade e territorializarem-se na cidade. Uma territorialização que não é indiferente à cidade concreta em que se realiza. Assim, argumento que a consideração do Punk e do Hip-Hop como movimentos sociais só pode se dar a partir de parâmetros muito precisos. Para referendar o argumento, reconstruo a trajetória histórica de ambas as culturas juvenis, do mundo ao lugar, tomando como referência uma cidade média paranaense. Para finalizar, apresento uma reflexão, ainda preliminar, sobre a dialética socioespacial, tema para o qual estudos dessa natureza podem trazer alguma contribuição.I examine in this study two transterritorial youth cultures – punk and hiphop –, considering the possibility of being new political agents territorialized and “placed”. The starting point of the text are some concerns which have conditioned my attention, related to the links between sociability and city in space-time. Punk e hip-hop are regarded as a possibility of identity building for youngsters, who are located in many places in the city and who also build their nets of sociability and their own territories in the city. This territorialization is not indifferent towards the concrete city in which it is realized. In the light of this, I argue that classifying punk and of hip-hop as social movements can only be undertaken under consideration of very clear parameters. Empirical evidence for this argument derives from the history of both young cultures at different scale levels, from the world to the place, taking as reference a midsized city in the state of Paraná. To finalize, I present a preliminary reflection about the socio-spatial dialectic, a subject for which studies like this one can bring some contribution
PUNK AND HIP HOP IN THE CITY: TERRITORIES AND BONDS OF SOCIABILITY
Get PDFThis article tries to approach the process by which the punk and hip-hop movements are constituted in the city of Guarapuava-Pr in order to develop a geographical examination of these social movements constituted by young people. first there is a brief introduction to the mode of constitution of the very place that, in a certain time, had the geo-historic conditions fit for the making of these youthful transterritorial movements. The study then elaborates a brief history of the rise and spread of the punk and hip hop culture all over the world. finally, attention is drawn to an interpretation on the way these movements took root in Guarapuava and emphasis is placed on both the making of located bonds of sociability and the territorialization of each movement in the city since they were responsible for the constitution of new political characters who were in dialogue and also in conflict with the ones already present. The central point of this work is the spread, the territorialization and the making of bonds of sociability in both these movements.Procuro abordar, neste artigo, o processo de constituição, na cidade de Guarapuava/PR, dos movimentos punk e hip-hop, com vistas a oferecer uma possibilidade de abordagem, na Geografia, dos movimentos sociais constituídos por atores jovens. Inicialmente, apresento, de forma resumida, a trajetória de constituição do próprio lugar que, em certo momento, contou com condições geo-históricas favoráveis à aterrissagem desses movimentos juvenis transterritoriais. Depois, apresento uma breve história do surgimento e difusão do punk e do hip-hop pelo mundo. Por fim, trago uma interpretação das trajetórias desses movimentos em Guarapuava, traçando o processo de constituição das redes localizadas de sociabilidade e de territorialização de cada movimento na cidade, que fizeram com que, no lugar, se constituíssem novos sujeitos políticos, em diálogo e em conflito com aqueles já presentes. o centro do trabalho é o estudo comparativo da difusão, territorialização e formação das redes de sociabilidade de ambos os movimentos
