Edilizia Sanitaria Territoriale.

The opportunities offered by the high exactness’s digital morphometric acquisition are influencing the development of investigation processes in many fields: cultural, historical and artistic heritage and architectural design. The MUDI project – the new Museo degli Innocenti in Florence – benefits by this opportunity: the project combined the design process with the high density information of morphometric models. Measurements and datum levels interlace with sketches and themes of composition but relief and design are procedures completely different. The relief is constrained to start from the object and its result is a graphic reconstruction that recounts the architecture. The design born from imagination, thinking about something that still does not exist and its results are drawings that foreshadows the space to be built. During the MUDI project, the 3D laser scanner relief was used as useful tool for the building plan stage and as an essential instrument for the control of shapes and dimensions during the execution plan stage. The execution design is the most technical step of the entire design process and it is necessary the control of the space with millimetric accuracy, especially dealing with the restoration of monumental buildings. Thanks to its intrinsic feature of precision, the morphometric relief shows and explains the complexity and the volumetric lay-out of the object: with the tridimensional data base it is possible the metric check via the direct extraction of measurement and it is also possible the morphological investigation, an incomparable level of knowledge of the building

L’obiettivo dell’Azienda è di implementare questo sistema con i risultati della ricerca “Streamer” per utilizzarlo quale supporto in tutte le fasi decisionali riguardanti il proprio patrimonio immobiliare in un’ottica di contenimento energetico e di efficienza funzionale.“Streamer” is a research project funded in cooperation with the EU that aims to reduce the energy consumption and carbon dioxide emissions of the large healthcare districts by 50%; the project includes the construction or refurbishment of buildings within these districts. The success of the project relies on advanced planning instru- ments able to direct the choices of the decision makers and management of the large hospital groups towards energy efficiency. These instruments examine and optimise the integument and the organization of the buildings, the medical systems and equipment and the infrastructure network system across the entire healthcare district and its surroundings. AOU Careggi has made the strategic decision to involve the University of Florence as third party in the project, providing access, for research purposes, to an advanced computerised and geographi- cally referenced system. The objective is to implement the results of the “Streamer” project in this system and use it to support all decision stages involving its buildings, with the aim of reducing energy consumption and promoting efficient functionality

Fifty years after the Convention Concerning the Protection of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage adopted by UNESCO in 1972, the objective of protecting and safeguarding the heritage inherited from the past persists unchanged. What has evolved is not only its concept, which progressively included increasingly diversified tangible and intangible assets, broadening its extension and enhancing its richness, but also the processes aimed at their safeguarding. Within this scenario, a key role is played by Competence Centres for their strategic function capable of responding to the European Union approach with reference to the pact system enucleated by the 1972 UNESCO Convention for heritage protection. Focusing on the first phases of the 4CH Project (Grant Agreement 101004468), this paper aims to outline the ongoing experience in setting up a Competence Centre for the Conservation of Cultural Heritage, strongly centred on the promotion and enhancement of innovative technologies for heritage safeguarding

    No full text
As part of 3D integrated survey applied to Cultural Heritage, digital documentation is gradually emerging as effective support of many different information (photos, texts, non-destructive diagnostic analysis, multi-resolution images, historical data, etc.) in addition to the shape, morphology and dimensional data. Sustainable strategies in heritage documentation can be achieved through the implementation of effective data collection processes and the development of semantically enriched 3D models. The contribution will deepen in particular the integration of different documentation techniques to enable understanding, interpretation and sharing of collected data

Lack of knowledge and bad implementation during the construction processes risks to affect the benefits of prefab solutions - as components for building envelopes, windows and equipment - for NET Zero Energy buildings. The energy-efficiency potential of the building results often unmet as designed. The gap between the design specification and the As-Built condition is mainly due to the ineffective communication among design, production and construction professionals. The INSITER European project aims to prevent the performance discrepancy developing self-instruction and self-inspection procedures, supported by BIM-based software tools and augmented reality applications. BIM and AR technologies, which have revealed as part of Industry 4.0, play an important role in connecting the virtual design environment with the physical production and construction sites

Il patrimonio culturale come attivatore di dinamiche urbane circolari = Cultural heritage as activator of circular urban dynamics

Cultural heritage can represent a key factor in circular processes on an urban scale that trigger relationships between users and the surrounding environment, generating new urban capital and enhancing individual and collective capacities. This topic is addressed through a review of academic literature and policy documents and a comparative analysis of two regeneration processes carried out in the cities of Bologna and Bogotà: the H2020 ROCK – Regeneration and Optimisation of Cultural Heritage in creative and Knowledge cities (GA 730280) project – on the historical university area, and the experiments on the former Ravone railway station of the OBRAS – Opportunities for Boosting urban capabilities project – developed in parallel on the La Sabana Station in Bogotá, Colombia

The paper reports the results of an ongoing research programme developed at the University of Ferrara by the spin-off INCEPTION, a start-up created on the basis of the outcomes of the project 'INCEPTION - Inclusive Cultural Heritage in Europe through 3D semantic modelling' (EC H2020-funded research project). The paper focuses on the enhancement and improvement of some tools and functionalities of the INCEPTION platform and reports the results of tests performed on the 3D model of the church of Santa Maria delle Vergini in Macerata developed in the framework of the collaboration between INCEPTION and the ICCD (Istituto Centrale per il Catalogo e la Documentazione) of the MIC (Ministry of Culture). The first section investigate how the field of cataloging characterized by semantic web technologies, consisting of ontologies, LOD (Link Open Data), open standardized dictionaries and metadata, can be exploited for enriching H-BIM (Historical/Heritage Building Information) models thanks to the use of the INCEPTION platform. In particular, the workflow consisting of Scan2BIM procedures and advanced geometric modeling is described. Therefore, the automatic correlation and extraction of data from the New Digital Catalogue of Cultural Heritage, based on the ArCo ontology, is made possible by ontology mapping techniques and the use APIs and SPRQL queries. The results consist in a H-BIM model of Santa Maria delle Vergini that can be visualized online together with all the associated information and metadata retrieved for other sources in real-time, offering a better understanding of the church and the beautiful paintings of its altars. The BIM model of the church of Santa Maria delle Vergini was also used to test a new tool of the INCEPTION platform designed for the management of inspections, monitoring of deterioration conditions and planning of 'conservation maintenance' of cultural heritage sites and buildings. The tools for the inspection management and maintenance planning consist of a protocol for inspecting and assessing the condition of building components or parts, and applications to perform guided inspections, transfer the collected data to the platform, and later access that data by interacting directly with the building's digital twin. The paper presents the main elements of the ongoing experimentation: the matrixes for the automatic analysis of the detected data and the assignment of the "condition score", the structure of the ontology with which the semantic tools of the platform operate, the workflows for data loading phases such as: in situ inspections, remote monitoring, planning of interventions
