David Zimmer Christmas letter
No full textThis Christmas letter written November 30, 1999, by David Zimmer is titled "Season's Greetings from the last of the Red-Hot-Santas!" It features an illustration of Santa Claus with a guitar, and a summary of Zimmer's year.
David Zimmer (1929-2005) was born in Harrisburg, Ohio. He enlisted in the U.S. Army and served for two years during the Korean War at the Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, where he performed in drag for wounded soldiers. After the war, he returned to Ohio. Zimmer performed as Dolly Divine, a name inspired by the song "Hello Dolly." In 1964, he established the Berwick Ball with Orn Huntington, another important early gay activist in Central Ohio. The Ball began as a formal Halloween costume ball that provided a safe space to gather and enjoy drag shows for the gay community each year; over the years, it grew into an annual Halloween tradition and an important fundraiser for the AIDS movement and other charities. During the 1970s, Zimmer was also known for hosting lavish parties at his Harrisburg home. In 1989, he moved to the German Village area of Columbus where he remained active in the community. During the 1990s, Zimmer continued to perform in and out of drag and commissioned costume designer Dick Frank to make elaborate outfits. Zimmer worked for Huntington National Bank for 39 years and was a member of the Harrisburg United Methodist Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the German Village Society

Complicaciones obstétricas en adolescentes embarazadas, Hospital Regional Docente de Trujillo, 2011-2015
No full textOBJECTIVE: To determine the obstetric complications in the adolescents (10 to 19 years) who were treated in the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics of the Trujillo Regional Teaching Hospital from 2011 to 2015.
MATERIAL AND METHODS: An observational, descriptive study And a cross-sectional study, a sample of 293 patients was selected from the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics at the Trujillo Regional Teaching Hospital from 2011 to 2015. The medical records were reviewed and obstetric complications were evaluated.
RESULTS: 86% of pregnant adolescents were 16 to 19 years old. Anemia occurred in 108 (36.9%) cases, hypertensive disorders of pregnancy in 56 (19.1%) cases, threat of preterm birth in 37 (12.6%) cases, premature rupture of membranes in 39 (13.3%) cases, (33.1%), hemorrhage in 11 (3.8%) cases, 4 (1.4%) cases of abortion and 106 (36.2%) cases of cesarean sections.
CONCLUSION: The most frequent complication is anemia, followed by urinary tract infections and hypertensive disorders of pregnancy, which necessitates the development of health policies and sex education to reduce the frequency of pregnancies in this group AgeOBJETIVO: Determinar las complicaciones obstétricas, en las adolescentes (10 a 19 años), que fueron atendidas en el departamento de Ginecología y Obstetricia del Hospital Regional Docente de Trujillo, del 2011 al 2015.
MATERIAL Y MÉTODOS: Se realizó un estudio observacional, descriptivo y transversal, se seleccionó una muestra de 293 pacientes, que acudieron al Departamento de Ginecología y Obstetricia en el Hospital Regional Docente de Trujillo, del 2011 al 2015. Se revisaron las historias clínicas y se evaluaron las complicaciones obstétricas que presentaron.
RESULTADOS: El 86% de adolescentes embarazadas tuvo de 16 a 19 años. La anemia se presentó en 108 (36.9%) casos, los trastornos hipertensivos del embarazo en 56 (19.1%) casos, amenaza de parto pretérmino en 37 (12.6%) casos, ruptura prematura de membranas en 39 (13.3%) casos, infección de vías urinarias en 97 (33.1%) casos, hemorragia en 11 (3.8%) casos, 4 (1.4%) casos de aborto y 106 (36.2%) casos de cesáreas.
CONCLUSIÓN: La complicación que más se presenta es la anemia, seguida de las infecciones del tracto urinario y los trastornos hipertensivos del embarazo, lo que hace necesario el desarrollo de políticas de salud y de educación sexual, para reducir la frecuencia de embarazos en este grupo etarioTesi
El presupuesto participativo municipal y su influencia en la calidad de vida de los distritos de la provincia de Trujillo: 2008-2011.
No full textThrough this research it was determined the influence of the preparation and execution process of the municipal participatory budget in the quality of life of the population of the districts of the province of Trujillo: 2008 - 2011. It was used a quantitative-descriptive design and a survey procedure in a representative sample of 383 families in the districts of El Porvenir, La Esperanza and Moche and interviews with officials of the municipalities under study. As a result, It was identified the causes of minority participation, limitations and difficulties that presented the preparation and execution process of participatory budget over the past four years. It was found that 55.6% claims that there were public works in favor of education services, 53% consider that executed development projects did not gear to meet their needs for drinking water and sewerage system, improvement of access and housing conditions through public works, representing 70.8% and that the municipality's investment in public works has helped to improve their economic capacity revaluing in 10% homes of the district. It is concluded that prioritized executed projects in the participatory budget process: 2008 - 2011, only meets three of the four indicators of unmet basic needs measuring quality of life.Mediante la presente investigación se determinó la influencia del proceso de elaboración y ejecución del presupuesto participativo municipal en la calidad de vida de la población de los distritos de la provincia de Trujillo: 2008 - 2011. Se utilizó un diseño cuantitativo – descriptivo y un procedimiento de encuestas en una muestra representativa de 383 familias de los distritos de El Porvenir, La Esperanza y Moche y entrevistas a los funcionarios de los municipios en estudio. Como resultado, se ha identificado las causas de la minoritaria participación, las limitaciones y dificultades que presentó el proceso de elaboración y ejecución del presupuesto participativo durante los últimos 4 años. Se encontró que el 55.6% manifiesta que existieron obras públicas a favor del servicio educativo; el 53% considera que los proyectos de desarrollo ejecutados no se orientaron a satisfacer sus necesidades de agua potable y alcantarillado; el mejoramiento del acceso y condiciones de su vivienda mediante obras públicas representa el 70.8% y que la inversión de la municipalidad en obras públicas ha contribuido en mejorar su capacidad económica revalorizando en 10% las viviendas del distrito. Se concluye que los proyectos ejecutados priorizados en el proceso del Presupuesto Participativo: 2008 – 2011, solo responde a tres de los cuatro indicadores de las Necesidades Básicas Insatisfechas que miden la calidad de vida
