An invariant analytic orthonormalization procedure with applications
No full textWe apply the orthonormalization procedure previously introduced by Bagarello and Triolo [J. Math. Phys. 48, 043505 (2007)] and adopted in connection with coherent states to Gabor frames and other examples. For instance, for Gabor frames, we show how to construct g(x) ∈ L 2(R) in such a way the functions gn(x)=e ian1xg(x+an2), n ∈ Z2 and a some positive real number, are mutually orthogonal. We discuss in some detail the role of the lattice naturally associated with the procedure in this analysis

No full textPolymer and diblock copolymer phase separation in supercritical (SC) fluids was analyzed by developing a mean-field theory. A phenomenological hole theory that was extended to consider the polymer/solvent/vacancy pseudoternary mixture was used to describe the highly compressible SC fluid. In high density, the homogeneous phase was was favored while polymer aggregation was triggered by the reduced polymer-solvent contacts at low densities. The critical solvent density required for the onset of phase separation (CMD) decreased linearly with temperature, with its slope being tightly dependent on solvent and polymer properties

No full textLe dinamiche strutturali cui sono soggette le città meridionali tendono a configurare spazi di vita svantaggiati dove la tradizionale dicotomia centro/periferia è data più che dalla distanza fisica da un centro da una, ben più profonda, distanza sociale. Si sta conducendo una sperimentazione didattica sul tema della riqualificazione delle periferie urbane di Palermo assumendo come campo di applicazione contesti locali che presentano caratteri morfologici e sociali abbastanza diversificati tali da offrire un quadro esaustivo delle diverse forme che la marginalità assume nel sistema urbano. La sperimentazione ha interessato le aree del fiume Oreto e i quartieri Zen, Borgo Nuovo e Malaspina, curando aspetti tecnici del progetto intrecciati alla sfera comunicativa dell’interazione con gli abitanti. Emerge la potenzialità offerta ai processi di rinnovo urbano dal riconoscimento che la differenziazione costituisce un valore e può agire da elemento propulsore per lo sviluppo della città

No full textWe discuss a general strategy which produces an orthonormal set of vectors, stable under the action of a given set of unitary operators Aj, j=1,2,n, starting from a fixed normalized vector in H and from a set of unitary operators. We discuss several examples of this procedure and, in particular, we show how a set of coherentlike vectors can be produced and in which condition over the lattice spacing this can be done. © 2007 American Institute of Physics
