Un esempio di didattica in rete della traduzione assistita
The paper reports on the author’s experience as a teacher of Computer-Aided Translation in a distance post-graduate translation course. After analysing the features of Computer-Aided Translation, the author draws a parallel between this subject and its fellow research and practice field, Computer Assisted Language Learning, in order to define a common theoretical and methodological framework. The author then introduces the online course in which he works as a teacher of Computer-Aided Translation and illustrates how the drawbacks of teaching technology online together with the features of the subject have induced him to define an ad hoc teaching methodology so as to simplify as much as possible his learners’ work. This is done through a series of strategies, e.g. by shortening each tutorial step, by adding pictures and by using forum discussion and screencasts as a support medium

CALL Teacher Education. Language Teachers and Technology Integration
CALL Teacher Education is a practical resource for teacher trainers who are about to deal with the challenging and exciting task of preparing language teachers to integrate technology into their everyday professional practice.
As research yields results that show the solid and growing potential of technology for language education, Computer Assisted Language Learning has become a rather common subject in teacher training programmes worldwide. Based on the author’s experience in teacher education, the present book aims at providing trainers with thorough methodological foundations and practical understanding to design and implement effective CALL courses. To achieve this goal, the volume collects and harmonises the different sources that constitute the base-knowledge of CALL Teacher Education and gradually leads the reader from theory down to practice.
The volume, the first monograph on this subject, offers a comprehensive overview of CALL Teacher Education, both as an academic discipline and as a practice ambit, and explores among others the following topics:
• The relationship between technology and language learning;
• The integration of technology into language education;
• Theoretical foundations of CALL teacher training;
• Frameworks and standards for CALL education;
• Approaches and processes;
• CALL training procedures;
• Curriculum design
La controversia storiografica sulle glottotecnologie Una rivisitazione
History plays an important role in research on Computer Assisted Language Learn- ing (CALL) as it can help researchers better define a composite field in which the connection between technology and pedagogy has never been either clear or easy. Yet, despite CALL be- ing a rather recent field of investigation and work, accounts of its historical development vary among authors, especially as regards the so-called interpretative histories, which sketch the field's evolution by identifying and characterising broad historical phases. This paper aims at describing such controversy and compare the various accounts so as to highlight the different interpretations of the field which underpin each of them. A new history will be proposed in the end based on the field's development in the last decades which posits that network technologies may be able to reconcile CALL with Second Language Acquisition research
