    No full text
The main aim of the article is to analyse the introduction of keynesianism into Spain through the Manuel de Torres' works, the most active proponent of the new doctrine duríng the forties and fifties. The article focus on the adaptation to the Spanish context of the Keynes's ideas by Manuel de Torres. In particular, Keynesianism contrihuted to replace the agrarian ideas defended by Torres in the thirties by a new interest in industrial development during the 40's and 50's. Thus, the article provides an explanation of Torres' doctrinal evolution and vindicates the role played by the economic ideas as an instrument of transformation. These ideas contributed to change the Torres perception of the Spanish economic reality.Publicad

Semiclassical solutions in statistical quantum mechanics: second-order corrections and applications to nuclear matter

Treballs Finals de Grau de Física, Facultat de Física, Universitat de Barcelona, Curs: 2025, Tutor: Juan M. Torres RincónWe consider the Feynman path integral formalism applied to different quantum systems at finite temperature under the semiclassical approximation. To refine previous results, we first develop its second-order correction by implementing the Gel’fand-Yaglom method numerically and apply it to the 1D nonperturbative anharmonic oscillator. Then, we extend the semiclassical approach to a generic two-body potential, V (r), and apply it to the 3D spherical harmonic oscillator and to the nucleon-nucleon interaction to obtain thermodynamical properties of nuclear matte

Femtoscopy of D mesons and light mesons upon unitarized effective field theories

Hadron femtoscopy has turned into a powerful tool for accessing space-time information of heavy-ion collisions as well as for studying final-state interactions of hadrons. Recently, heavy-flavor femtoscopy has become feasible using the ALICE detector at the LHC. We compute the correlation function of D mesons and light mesons using an off-shell T-matrix approach to access the two-meson wave function, and predict the correlation functions involving charged D+,D*+,D+s, and D*+s with π± and K±. From the obtained results—all of them accessible in p+p collision experiments—we point up the case of D+π−, which is sensitive to the lower state of the two-pole D∗0(2300) system. The presence of such poles imprints a depletion on the correlation function, which could potentially be detected in experiments. While preliminary ALICE data do not show evidence of this effect, we suggest to look into the D+sK− system to explore the higher pole of the D∗0(2300), as the depletion in the correlation function is more pronounced. Using heavy-quark spin symmetry we also propose exploring the effect of the two poles of the D1(2430) and predict similar structures in the correlation functions of the D*+π− and D*+sK− pairs.Funded by SCOAP3.This research has been supported from Projects No. CEX2019-000918-M, No. CEX2020-001058-M (Unidades de Excelencia “María de Maeztu”), No. PID2019–110165GB-I00, and No. PID2020–118758GB-I00, financed by the Spanish MCIN/ Grant No. AEI/10.13039/501100011033/, as well as by the EU STRONG-2020 project, under Program No. H2020-INFRAIA-2018-1 Grant Agreement No. 824093. Path integrals in quantum mechanical systems

Treballs Finals de Grau de Física, Facultat de Física, Universitat de Barcelona, Curs: 2023, Tutors: Juan M. Torres, Assumpta ParreñoThis work has implemented the path integral formalism into quantum mechanics with systems at finite temperature. Low, medium and high temperatures have been considered. The study has been done with numerical computations based on Monte Carlo methods on the harmonic and the anharmonic oscillators. In this latter case the results have been compared with the Schr¨odinger equation solutions and it has lead to a high degree of compatibility. It has been shown that the path integral is an alternative and valid method to solve thermal quantum systems

Thermal Models for Hadron Production in Relativistic Heavy-Ion Collisions

Treballs Finals de Grau de Física, Facultat de Física, Universitat de Barcelona, Curs: 2026, Tutor: Juan M. Torres RincónIn this work, we investigate hadron production in relativistic proton–lead and protonproton collisions using phenomenological thermal-statistical models. The transverse momentum spectra (pT ) of identified pions, kaons and protons are analyzed with the Blast-Wave Model framework. The theoretical results show good agreement with experimental measurements from the ALICE Collaboration at CERN, successfully reproducing the spectra of different particle species and collision centralities. In addition, an improved Blast-Wave model is implemented in Monte Carlo simulations, which allows for hadron 3-momenta generation within the experimental acceptance, for its use in phenomenological applications. After validation, we finally apply the Monte Carlo code to generate pair distribution of hadrons as a function of their relative momentu

Fil: Torres, Juan M.
