MBS: Multilevel Blockchain System for IoT
Despite of their increasing popularity, Internet of Things (IoT) platforms are still suffering from major security problems, particularly during communications between the IoT devices. Indeed, these devices are commonly prone to malicious attacks and require prior mutual authentication to guarantee the confidentiality and security of data being shared as well as a proper network operation. In order to deal with this issue, several researchers have proposed the use of the emergent blockchain paradigm, which has emerged as a key technology that will transform the way in which information will be shared. As this paradigm is facing scalability and flexibility problems, the use of multi-agents systems has been adopted in recent works. However, current solutions are using agents for the rudimentary role of data collection only. In this paper, we propose to secure the IoT platform with a multilevel blockchain system (MBS) where the speed and flexibility of blockchain transactions are enforced by mobile agents which are migrating throughout the IoT network. The simulations of our solution through the Hyperledger Fabric are showing relevant results in terms of response time and energy consumption
Empowering Communications in Vehicular Networks with an Intelligent Blockchain-Based Solution
Blockchains have emerged over time as a reliable and secure way to record transactions in an immutable manner in a wide range of application domains. However, current related solutions are not yet capable of appropriately checking the authenticity of data when their volumes are huge. They are not also capable of updating Blockchain data blocks and synchronizing them within reasonable timeframes. This is the case within the specific context of Blockchain vehicular networks, where these solutions are commonly cumbersome when attempting to add new vehicles to the network. In order to address these problems, we propose in this paper a new Blockchain-based solution that intelligently implement selective communication and collaborative endorsement approaches to reduce communications between vehicles. Our solution represents the vehicles of the Blockchain as intelligent software agents with a Belief–Desire–Intention (BDI) architecture. Furthermore, we propose an approach based on multi-endorsement levels to exchange data of varying sensitive categories. This approach, which is based on endorsing scores, is also used to shorten the admission of new vehicles into the Blockchain. We run simulations using the Hyperledger Fabric Blockchain tool. Results show the efficiency of our solution in reducing the processing times of transactions within two different scenarios
Planning and Scheduling for Optimizing Communication in Smart Grids
Part 7: Modelling, Visualization and Decision SupportInternational audienceSmart grid is a concept defining future electricity distribution network with the purpose of improving its reliability, efficiency and reducing its ecological impact. To achieve that, massive volumes of data need to be sensed and transmitted between the elements of the grid. A robust and efficient communication infrastructure is thus as essential part of smart grid. Some of the data transmissions are not time-critical, providing an opportunity to improve the communication network performance. In this paper, we present a new approach to optimize smart grid communications through time-based scheduling. Additionally, we provide a review of communication technologies in smart grids and published approaches to avoid congestions and transmission failures
Tesla coil
In this work the author designs a Tesla coil with long discharges, intended for educational activities and visual and sound effects. In this work author first presents the physical principles of Tesla coils, analyzes various types of circuits, and the possibilities for their construction. It also includes a brief biography of Nikola Tesla. After the theoretical analysis of the circuits and principles, the power section of the Tesla coil is discussed and designed. This chapter includes a description of the power blocks and the principles of switching and control. Next, the author calculates the voltage and current ratios in the power section of the Tesla coil. Based on the calculated parameters, the required electronic components are proportioned and selected. The work also includes the design of a passive heat sink for the power components. Next author focuses on the analysis and calculation of resonant circuits. Based on the performed calculations, the primary and secondary resonant circuit coils are designed by using the online program Javatc. Based on this theoretical knowledge, all components are built and the PCB are designed. Author explains the analysis of individual blocks of the control circuit. At the end, the functionality of the entire device is verified, and the device is assembled
Tesla coil
Smyslem této práce je navrhnou Teslův transformátor s co nejdelšími výboji určeného pro vzdělávací aktivity a pro vizuální a zvukové efekty. V této práci autor nejprve představuje fyzikální podstatu Teslových transformátorů, rozebírá jednotlivé typy zapojení a možnosti jejich realizace. Součástí je také krátký životopis Nikoly Tesly. Po teoretickém rozboru různých zapojení a principů je rozebrána a navržena silová část Teslova transformátoru. V kapitole, věnující se silové části, je popis jejích jednotlivých bloků a principů správného spínání a řízení. Následuje část, kde se autor věnuje výpočtům napěťových a proudových poměrů v této silové části Teslova transformátoru. Podle vypočtených parametrů jsou následně nadimenzovány a vybrány potřebné elektronické součástky. V práci je též rozebrán i návrh a výpočet pasivního chladiče výkonových součástek. V další části práce se autor věnuje rozboru a výpočtům rezonančních obvodů. Z provedených výpočtů jsou pomocí online programu Javatc navrženy cívky primárního a sekundárního rezonančního obvodu. Z těchto teoretických poznatků jsou všechny patřičné komponenty postaveny a navrhnuty DPS. Pozornost je také věnována rozboru jednotlivých bloků řídicího obvodu. Project to Streamline Manufacturing Operations at a Selected Center at DSP Přerov, spol. s r.o
Diplomová práce je zaměřena na zefektivnění výrobních činností ve vybraném středisku firmy DSP Přerov spol., s r.o. Cílem práce je navrhnou systematickou metodu pro převá-dění obráběných dílů z konvenčních strojů na CNC technologii, zkrátit čas přetypování vybraného zařízení a snížit závislost na technologické kooperaci, konkrétně ve věci lako-vání a povrchové úpravy. V analýze současného stavu bylo použito přímé pozorování, měření, rozhovory, videozáznam a využití nejrůznějších metod průmyslového inženýrství, které jsou popsány v teoretické části práce. Výsledkem projektového řešení jsou návrhy opatření, které výrazně omezí plýtvání a zlepší výrobní proces.This diploma thesis focuses on the efficiency of production activities in selected centre of the company DSP Přerov Ltd. The aim of the thesis is to design a systematic method for converting machined parts from conventional machines into CNC technology, shorten changeover time of selected machinery and reduce the dependence on technological co-operation, specifically in the field of lacquering and surface finishing. In the analysis of the current state, direct observation, measurements, interviews, video recording and utili-zation of various methods of industrial engineering, which are described in the theoretical part of the thesis, were used. Project on dealing with medico-legal relations in Uherskohradišťská nemocnice a.s.
Předmětem diplomové práce "Projekt řešení medicínskoprávních vztahů v Uherskohradišťské nemocnici a.s." je problematika medicínskoprávních vztahů, které se realizují v rámci poskytování zdravotní péče v Uherskohradišťské nemocnici a.s. Hlavním cílem předkládané práce je navržení projektových opatření při řešení medicínskoprávních vztahů. Důraz v práci je kladen na odpovědnostní vztahy mezi poskytovatelem a příjemcem zdravotní péče, u kterých mnohdy dochází ke stížnostem, případně je nutno soudního či mimosoudního řešení odpovědnosti za škodu. Teoretická část práce se věnuje zejména zásadním pojmům medicínského práva, odpovědnostním vztahům a dále odpovědnosti za škodu. V neposlední řadě teoretická část práce vymezuje legislativu, která je spjata s poskytováním zdravotních služeb. Legislativní vymezení je rozšířeno o změny v důsledku zdravotnické reformy, která proběhla v roce 2012. V druhé části práce, tj. praktické části, je provedeno dotazníkové šetření a dále kvalifikované rozhovory. Dotazníkové šetření je zaměřeno na ověření znalostí práv pacientů a lékařů v Uherskohradišťské nemocnici vzhledem k faktu, že právě tyto znalosti mnohdy zapříčiňují výskyt stížnosti či potřebu soudních a mimosoudních řešení odpovědnosti za škodu. V závěru práce je zhodnocena situace dle výsledků výzkumu a jsou navržena opatření, která by mohla napomoci k optimálnímu stavu v dané problematice.The thesis entitled "Project on dealing with medico-legal relations in Uherskohradišťská nemocnice a.s." is concerned with medico-legal relations that take place while providing health care in Uherskohradišťská nemocnice a.s. hospital. The main goal of the paper is to propose general arrangements for dealing with medico-legal relations. The paper emphasizes the responsibility relation between the provider and the receiver of health care. Within these relations, complaints occur frequently and they can sometimes lead to legal proceedings or out-of-court arrangements connected with liability for damage. The theoretical part of the paper mainly focuses on principal concepts of medical law, liability relations, and liability for damage. It also defines the legislation connected with providing health care. The definition of legislature is extended with changes in health care reform that was passed in 2012. The second, practical part of the thesis contains a survey research and qualified interviews. Due to the fact that the knowledge of the rights of patients and doctors are the cause of the occurrence of complaints or the need for legal proceedings and out-of-court arrangements connected with liability for damage, the survey research focuses on testing of such knowledge in the hospital in Uherské Hradiště. In the final part of the thesis, the situation is evaluated in accordance with the results of the research and measures that could help to reach an optimal state in this area are proposed.Ústav regionálního rozvoje, veřejné správy a právaobhájen
A Dynamic Approach to Process Design: A Pattern for Extending the Flexibility of Process Models
Part 4: Enterprise Modelling Approaches and Tools for Agility and FlexibilityInternational audienceThis paper presents a specific approach to Business Process design by combining selected principles of Adaptive Case Management, traditional modeling of processes executable in Business Process Management Systems, and a constraint-based approach to process design. This combined approach is intended for business situations, where traditional process models with rigid structures can lead to limitations of business flexibility. We propose a process design pattern that is suitable for the modeling of ad-hoc processes within common BPMS-based systems. The pattern can be used to define a process structure in a declarative constraint-based manner. Further, we present an application of the approach in an actual project, which is an end-to-end BPM project from an insurance business. The project uncovered needs for an extended flexibility of process structures. This along with requirements based on ad-hoc processes led to advancement in the presented approach. This paper presents a versatile, generally applicable solution, which was later tailored for the purpose of the aforementioned project and led to the successful satisfaction of the requirements. The approach is part of a more comprehensive research effort – complex BPM adoption methodology BPM4SME designed primarily for Small and Medium Enterprises, which put emphasis on the agility of the BPM adoption process and consequent flexible implementations of BPMS-based systems
