In the present text the author reproduces twenty-seven unpublished documents dated between 1701 and 1774. These papers prove that during the reign of Felipe V the Jesuit Royal Confessionary bore the final responsibility for transferring prelates or filling vacant bishoprics.
Since the effective date of the Decree No. 3.708/1919, which regulated limited-liability companies in Brazil, the discussion regarding preferred membership interests (in similarity to treatment of the preferred shares regulated under the Brazilian Business Corporation Act) had already been set. However, such discussion was an outcome of doctrine’s construction and business practice, since the legislation did not provide any rules about that type of membership interests. Even with the advent of the Brazilian Civil Code of 2002 (which repealed the Decree No. 3.708/1919), the preferred membership interests remained without express regulation under the legislation. On the other hand, many other peculiar provisions arose from the Brazilian Civil Code, which revived the dormant discussion about the possibility of existence of preferred membership interests in limited-liability companies, especially with regards to nonvoting membership interests. Since 2002 until 2020, the corporate regulatory authorities also joined the discussion, intensifying the debate and challenging the doctrine with the provisions brought by their normative instructions, at times allowing the issuance of preferred membership interests, at times denying it. Recently, in 2019, with the Economic Freedom Act (“Lei nº 13.874/2019”), and, in 2020, with the Normative Instruction No. 81/DREI (“IN nº 81/2020”), the preferred membership interests returned to the agenda. Therefore, the present paper seeks to understand how both the current legislation and corporate doctrine see the membership interests and the members of limited-liability companies, as well as to assess the possibility of issuance of preferred membership interests, especially nonvoting membership interests. That way, the present paper also highlights the importance of the use of corporate technologies (such as the preferred membership interests) as a way of providing the corporate activity with mechanisms of capital-raising, and as an incentive to the national economy, particularly in moments of recession

A.Dear Sir:-I see by late papers that you have returned from your trip to South Africa. i am pleased to know that you have returned safe, sincerely hope that you have had a pleasant trip and that the people there have not treated you worse than what you were treated here.we received the books that you ordered to be sent and thank you very much, I read them with interest and must say that after seeing and conversing with you, even if we had not known the author, we could have formed a good idea of who the author was. Here we are very much the same as you left us plodding along trying to keep our own pot a boiling as well as providing for those who are depending on our efforts. We have had a beautiful Summer and our harvest on the farms has yeal-ded satisfactory, the lumber business also has kept firm, in fact the country has produced so much that our rail road has not been able to move the products as fast as we could wish. Now in the beginning of winter, we are moving stuff more freely and hope soon again to get up to the normal. We often speak of you and remember the yarns you told us and often retail them in post to our friends. Your visit to us remains a bright spot in our memory. We cannot hope to have it repeated. Possibly some of us may go to San Francisco at the time of the exposition and if I be among that number, will surely hunt you up and enjoy your hospitality for a day or two.05207https://scholarlycommons.pacific.edu/jmcl/33300/thumbnail.jp

Inclusive growth: Why is it Important for Developing Asia?
Although Asian countries attain relatively high growth rates of GDP, many citizens do not seem to benefit from it. To remedy this problem, multilateral development institutions have developed the concept of inclusive growth, defined as growth that allows all members of a society to participate in and contribute to the growth process on an equal basis, regardless of their individual circumstances. The most direct way to achieve inclusive growth in Asia is to bring the objective of full employment of the labor force (i.e., zero involuntary unemployment) to the top of the policy agenda. Specific policies to achieve it are: (i) Redress the neglect of agriculture; (ii) Undertake public investment in basic infrastructure; (iii) Use of industrial policy to accelerate industrialization and structural transformation in general; (iv) Direct fiscal and monetary policies to the achievement of full employment; and (v) Devise Job Guarantee Programs (JGP) to ensure full employment with price stability
