Extension in domain specific code generation with meta-model based aspect weaving
No full textDomain specific code generation improves software productivity and reliability. However, these advantages are lost if the generated code needs to be manually modified or adapted before deployment. Thus, the systematic extensibility of domain specific code generation becomes increasingly important to ensure that these advantages are maintained. However, the traditional extension approaches, like round-trip engineering, have their limitations in supporting certain code customization scenarios. In this thesis, we address this problem with aspect-oriented techniques. We first show that the meta-model and the code generator can be used to derive a domain specific aspect language whose join points are based on domain specific elements. We then show that a corresponding aspect weaver can be derived as well, provided a proper model tracing facility can be made available for the code generator. We demonstrate the viability of our approach on several concrete domain specific code generation case studies, respectively with the AUTOFILTER code generator, the ANTLR parser generator, and the CUP parser generator. We successfully construct a few Java program analysis tools as a result of these case studies
Advances in carbon nitride supported single-atom photocatalysts for hydrogen evolution
No full textOwing to their distinct collaboration nature, high atom usage, and high catalytic performance, single-atom catalysts have become most dynamically studied in various catalytic reactions. Graphitic carbon nitride (g-C3N4), as one of the most promising two-dimensional supports for stable immobilization of singleatom metals, has received extensive investigations. In this review, the recent developments of g-C3N4-supported singleatom photocatalysts for hydrogen evolution are summarized, with the metal-support interactions and structure regulations for stable and efficient catalysis being highlighted. Finally, the difficulties and potentials for future development of g-C3N4- supported single-atom materials in photocatalytic hydrogen evolution are proposed.Fanpeng Meng, Zhihao Tian, Wenjie Tian, and Huayang Zhan

No full textIn July last year I had the opportunity to interview Meng Yue, literary scholar and author of Shanghai and the Edges of Empire (2006). Meng Yue has been collaborating with Toronto-based architect and artist Adrian Blackwell for a number of years, with their students from literature and architecture undertaking highly interesting research on the peripheral zones of Beijing. Questions of peri-urban food production, land use, resource distribution and the multiplication of labour skills have framed these investigations. The interview below is extracted from a considerably longer discussion we had in Beijing during the late summer of 2007, half of which was lost to the faulty battery of an ipod (the rest remains to be transcribed from video…)
