An Invertible Transform for Efficient String Matching in Labeled Digraphs

    No full text
Let G = (V, E) be a digraph where each vertex is unlabeled, each edge is labeled by a character in some alphabet Ω, and any two edges with both the same head and the same tail have different labels. The powerset construction gives a transform of G into a weakly connected digraph G' = (V', E') that enables solving the decision problem of whether there is a walk in G matching an arbitrarily long query string q in time linear in |q| and independent of |E| and |V|. We show G is uniquely determined by G' when for every v_ ∈ V, there is some distinct string s_ on Ω such that v_ is the origin of a closed walk in G matching s_, and no other walk in G matches s_ unless it starts and ends at v_. We then exploit this invertibility condition to strategically alter any G so its transform G' enables retrieval of all t terminal vertices of walks in the unaltered G matching q in O(|q| + t log |V|) time. We conclude by proposing two defining properties of a class of transforms that includes the Burrows-Wheeler transform and the transform presented here

Litinium quangi sp. n. shares the ovoid shape of the amphideal fovea having a small round aperture with L. aequale, L. curticauda, L. parmatum, L. subterraneum and Litinium sp. 1 of Quang et al. (2008) but other known species have a fovea shaped as a half moon. Litinium quangi differs from all species by having only one midventral preanal seta instead of two or more setae. The female of L. quangi differs from L. parmatum with unknown males by having smaller anterior sensilla (1.1–2.5 vs 18 µ m) and a shorter rounded tail (c' 1.12 vs 4.2, conical tail). Litinium quangi differs from the most similar and sympatric species L. sp. 1 of Quang et al. (2008) by having shorter outer labial and cephalic setae (respectively, 2.1–2.6 µ m and 1.4–2.2 µ m vs 5.2 µ m and 4.4 µ m) and one vs two midventral precloacal setae. Litinium guangi differs from L. curticauda in the number of precloacal supplementary setae and by the greater distance from the head apex to the ventral pore (68–75 µ m vs 39.5–48 µ m), shorter spicules (30–33 µ m vs 43–49 µ m), slightly longer tail (c 72.1–94.1 and c ' 1.36–1.63 vs 110–119 and 0.83–0.94, respectively). Convolutional Autoencoder for the Spatiotemporal Latent Representation of Turbulence

    No full text
Turbulence is characterised by chaotic dynamics and a high-dimensional state space, which make this phenomenon challenging to predict. However, turbulent flows are often characterised by coherent spatiotemporal structures, such as vortices or large-scale modes, which can help obtain a latent description of turbulent flows. However, current approaches are often limited by either the need to use some form of thresholding on quantities defining the isosurfaces to which the flow structures are associated or the linearity of traditional modal flow decomposition approaches, such as those based on proper orthogonal decomposition. This problem is exacerbated in flows that exhibit extreme events, which are rare and sudden changes in a turbulent state. The goal of this paper is to obtain an efficient and accurate reduced-order latent representation of a turbulent flow that exhibits extreme events. Specifically, we employ a three-dimensional multiscale convolutional autoencoder (CAE) to obtain such latent representation. We apply it to a three-dimensional turbulent flow. We show that the Multiscale CAE is efficient, requiring less than 10% degrees of freedom than proper orthogonal decomposition for compressing the data and is able to accurately reconstruct flow states related to extreme events. The proposed deep learning architecture opens opportunities for nonlinear reduced-order modeling of turbulent flows from data.Green Open Access added to TU Delft Institutional Repository ‘You share, we take care!’ – Taverne project https://www.openaccess.nl/en/you-share-we-take-care Otherwise as indicated in the copyright section: the publisher is the copyright holder of this work and the author uses the Dutch legislation to make this work public.Aerodynamic

ObhájenoShort animated film If people were oviparous, the anidok is set in a fictional environment, so we can also call it an animated documentary. The film deals with current social issues and aims to clearly present an issue which, despite the maturity of civilization, is still relevant. An example is homophobia, abortion, adoption, equality, etc. Anidok is not a common form of storytelling, but in the Czech Republic it is beginning to take shape in a very interesting direction (for example, Štvanice by Michaela Režová, Cam Van Nguyen, FAMU) I tried to take anidok differently. Because I have been dealing with social issues for a long time, I was looking for other expressions of animation. It is supposed to be an entertaining film, presented as a documentary film and a fiction naming the problems of today's civilization. The technique is therefore chosen so that the drawn animation blends the real videos and the use of stopmotion animation. The technique is partly connected to the famous Czech animator Jan Švankmajer, who is very progressive in a similar style

This bachelor thesis deals with electronic communication between the city of Letohrad and its citizens. It is specifically about communication of fault reports. Nowadays almost every person in productive age owns smartphone. Therefore, it is preferable to let citizens report faults directly from their smartphones instead of personal or telephone communication. There is already a solution in form of website for fault reporting but is not used frequently by citizens. The aim of this thesis is to develop a mobile app for gathering fault reports from citizens of Letohrad city, using React Native framework.Analysis of app requirements is consulted with the Letohrad city representative. Part of the work is a research of existing solutions and adapting the application design, based on its results. This thesis is divided into four main chapters, guiding the reader through the means of reaching the goal set by the author of this thesis.First chapter is analysis of the problem, which includes research and requirements for the app itself.
