Thomas Wilson 145616
The "Thomas Wilson" was a whaleback built by the American Steel Barge Company in 1892 at Superior, Wisconsin. She was of 1713 gross tons. She was sunk in a collision with the wooden steamer "George G. Hadley" near Duluth, Minnesota June 7, 1902. Both the steamer and the "Thomas Wilson" sank. The "Thomas Wilson" was bound for Chicago, Illinois with a cargo of iron ore. Nine lives were lost. Survivors were rescued by the "Hadley" and a tug "Annie L. Smith.
