    Portrait of Thomas Walker Davis. Thomas Walker Davis (1876-1951) was born in Wilmington, NC. He was educated in the public schools and at Cape Fear Academy. Davis worked for the Atlantic Coastline Railroad Company in various capacities before enlisting in the Spanish-American War. He received education in Law from the University of North Carolina (now University of North Carolina Chapel Hill) and was accepted to the bar in 1900. Davis joined his father's law practice in 1902 and continued in the practice for many years. During World War I, he served as Judge-Advocate with the rank of Major. After the war, Davis became the General Solicitor for the Atlantic Coast Line Railroad and served in the capacity for the remainder of his career. He is buried in Oakdale Cemetery
