Beyond and Behind Platforms and Algorithms: Exploring the Lived Experiences of Gig Workers
While the literature on gig work is expanding rapidly, many are the issues that need to be answered in order to fully understand the lived experiences of gig workers and illuminate the dynamics of gig work. Despite it is widely recognized that gig workers constitute an heterogenous workforce, for instance, seminal works have focused on finding similarities among gig workers across platforms, while the mechanisms behind different gig workers’ behaviors and perceptions are still widely obscure. Moreover, most of the literature focuses on what gig workers do individually on platforms, but not – or only cursorily – on how these workers manage the interplay between their online and offline activities. Specifically, comprehending how the online dimensions of work blur or integrate with offline aspects of gig workers’ lives – such as family condition or family needs, the presence of alternative, offline jobs, the cultural context of the community and country of origin – is of significant importance. This symposium addresses these issues by examining what happens behind and beyond platforms, and by presenting four papers looking at different gig workers’ experiences and different forms of interplay between online and offline aspects of gig work.

A Comparative Study of Stakeholder Engagement in the Dual Education System: A Case of Germany, the United States and Kazakhstan
Stakeholder engagement in the dual education system is one of the key factors in developing a sustainable educational system. In this study, the authors aim to explore the role and responsibilities of the key stakeholders and the level of their engagement in the dual education system. The authors aim to contribute to stakeholder engagement in dual education by identifying, assessing, and prioritizing project stakeholders’ interests and influence on the education system. The paper used a case study approach and conducted semi-structured interviews with representatives of vocational schools in Kazakhstan. The case study was conducted by comparing the results of the project stakeholder analysis in the dual education systems of Germany and the United States to Kazakhstan. The semi-structured interviews were conducted with 15 experienced educators from different vocational schools in Kazakhstan. The author\u27s analysis reveals that significant changes are necessary to the legislation in Kazakhstan to improve the dual education system
Collection and preprocessing of fine needle aspirate patient samples for single cell profiling and data analysis
Summary: High cell viability and recovered cell concentration are typical quality control requirements for single-cell processing and quality data. This protocol describes procedures for sampling, live-cell biobanking, preprocessing for single-cell RNA sequencing, and analysis of fine-needle aspiration (FNA) samples of the skin. The minimally invasive nature of FNA collection is more accepted by patients and allows for frequent longitudinal sampling, resulting in high-quality single-cell sequencing data that capture cellular heterogeneity in clinical samples

This article discusses the role of innovative digital technologies in medicine to improve its competitiveness and efficiency of organization and management in health care, as well as improving the quality of treatment. Health care shows the diversity of achievements and the flow of innovations based on technology. Most of the innovations that the author will describe here are still at the initial stage of development. Everyone is impressive in their own way. But the good news is that these innovations have been opened up from the traditional healthcare system to “unified medicine”. The goal is to identify and prevent the disease, along with treatment. In an outdated model of medicine, the necessary data is scattered between paper files, or classified into an electronic medical record system. Today, its improved model is being implemented. This is an individual technology for continuous monitoring of vital functions and comprehensive presentation of information about the patient’s health status. The development of information technologies and home self-monitoring devices leads to the creation of convenient services for remote consultation of citizens who care about their health
