Measurement Eccentricity the Moon’s Orbit with Image Analysis Technique by Using Tracker Software
One of the interesting physical phenomenon to be studied is about eccentricity of the Moon's orbit on the movement of the Earth and the Moon as explained in Kepler's Law. In order to explain the phenomenon, several research has been done to determine the measurement accuracy of Moon disk diameter using Trackers and to know the result of the eccentricity value in the application of Kepler's Law. This research can produce eccentricity values accordance with the application of Kepler’sLaw. The research method used is Image Analysis Techniqueassisted with Tracker. The result of this research shows that the eccentricity value obtained is 0.07 ± 0.01. This is in accordance with Kepler's first Law which stated that orbits of each planet and satellite is an ellipse and has an eccentricity value of 0 <e <1. The value of eccentricity obtained has accuracy of 22%,if it compared with the actual value.Whereas, if it compared with the value of ephemeris then the value of accuracy is 8%
The Influence of the Employment Contract System and Work Motivation on the Employees’ Performance of PT Busana Indah Global
Competition in the current industrial era is growing rapidly which requires more effective and efficient human resources. Contract employees are one of the company management's strategies for reducing the company's labor costs, but on the other hand, contract employees object because of uncertainty about career paths. Therefore, companies need to pay attention to the level of job satisfaction of contract employees, which is the main factor driving employee morale, discipline, and work performance in supporting the realization of company goals. Several factors that can influence performance are work motivation. This research aims to determine the influence of the work contract system and work motivation on the performance of PT. Busana Indah Global. The sample for this research is active contract employees. The technique for sampling was purposive sampling. In this research, the author used a questionnaire as an instrument in collecting data using Likert scale measurements. The method used in this research is a quantitative method that requires data analysis using validation, reliability, and multiple linear regression tests. This research was conducted by distributing questionnaires to employees of PT. Busana Indah Global consisted of 97 samples with 30 questions. Busana Indah Global
Robert Altman’s "Popeye" as anti-musical
The author analyses Robert Altman’s movie “Popeye” (1980) using genre determinants enunciated by Rick Altman for classical musical, pointing out the fact that director’s auteur style – especially polyphonic hubbub in soundscape – clashes with musical’s immersive character. Narrative scheme visible in the movie would rather suggest its affiliation with Western genre and visual gags strongly invoke another thoroughly American tradition – slapstick. This negation of “musical reality” paired with “entertainess” – category proposed by the author as distinctive for the genre and understood as a pleasurable result of experiencing something that can be considered as artistically well executed – are the reason to call Popeye an anti-musical rather than a musical.Udostępnienie publikacji Wydawnictwa Uniwersytetu Łódzkiego finansowane w ramach projektu „Doskonałość naukowa kluczem do doskonałości kształcenia”. Multiple irradiation sensing of the optical effective attenuation coefficient for spectral correction in handheld OA imaging
AbstractSpectral optoacoustic (OA) imaging enables spatially-resolved measurement of blood oxygenation levels, based on the distinct optical absorption spectra of oxygenated and de-oxygenated blood. Wavelength-dependent optical attenuation in the bulk tissue, however, distorts the acquired OA spectrum and thus makes quantitative oxygenation measurements challenging. We demonstrate a correction for this spectral distortion without requiring a priori knowledge of the tissue optical properties, using the concept of multiple irradiation sensing: recording the OA signal amplitude of an absorbing structure (e.g. blood vessel), which serves as an intrinsic fluence detector, as function of irradiation position. This permits the reconstruction of the bulk effective optical attenuation coefficient μeff,λ. If performed at various irradiation wavelengths, a correction for the wavelength-dependent fluence attenuation is achieved, revealing accurate spectral information on the absorbing structures. Phantom studies were performed to show the potential of this technique for handheld clinical combined OA and ultrasound imaging
“Muzykol” − A Cultural Metaphor of the Polish People’s Republic
W rezultacie peerelowski musical okazuje się czymś więcej niż nieudolnym naśladownictwem – staje się „muzykolem”, kulturową metaforą PRL.The article is an attempt to use the category of the musical as a tool for describing the society of the Polish People’s Republic (PPR) era. PPR film musical is shown here to be a rare phenomenon, but a symptomatic one. The author reinterprets the theory of Rick Altman in relation to socialist mass culture, ascribing the duality of cultural and counter-cultural on to the conflict between the interests of disliked powers and the unfulfilled expectations of the citizens. He shows how the analysed films differ from the Hollywood model in the attitude towards work and entertainment, and how they fulfil propaganda and compensatory functions. As a result, the communist musical turns out to be something more than an inept imitation - it becomes a “muzykol” [locally made musical like film, that is not up to Western standards], a cultural metaphor for the communist era in Poland
Meanders of (Anti-)War Cinema: The Role of the Context of Polish Film Criticism in the Reception of Genre. The Case of “1917”
Artykuł odpowiada także na pytania o skomplikowany status filmu antywojennego oraz śledzi gatunkowe koncepcje obecne w recepcji krytycznofilmowej 1917.The article explores the war film genre through the lens of the reception of Sam Mendes’s 1917 (2019) in Polish film criticism. Using the example of this film, which generates numerous problems for a genre-based approach, the author demonstrates the importance of considering the context of film criticism in genre studies, in particular due to the war film genre being ambiguously defined in film studies. He argues for a shift from Rick Altman’s film genre theory to Andrew Tudor’s approach, which incorporates social and cultural contexts. In his research, the author also draws on Pierre Bourdieu’s field theory, which recognises the role of critics in shaping cultural knowledge, as well as Janet Staiger’s perspective, which emphasises the influence of social and national factors on the reception of cinema. The article answers questions regarding the complex status of the anti-war film and traces the genre concepts present in the critical reception of 1917
Narration in the Rain: About Heavy Rain – A Groundbreaking Game From the Quantic Dream Studio
We wstępie autor szkicowo przedstawia postęp technologiczny w dziedzinie gier typu sandbox. In the introduction the author presents an overview of technological developments in games of the sandbox category. Games of this type do not have a linear storyline forced upon the player and are not particularly popular on the market. Heavy Rain appears to be a groundbreaking development in this area. Pitrus supposes that the game might give rise to a new trend in interactive entertainment, and for sure will prove to be a challenge for theoreticians. The shape of “narration” in Heavy Rain is different from most interactive games, as the characters are not immortal, and in the case of failure in a stage of the game, the game does not end, but continues, taking on a different character. If we are not happy with the events taking place, we can restart the game, and retry to influence the destinies of the characters. In his further analysis of the narrative meanders in Heavy Rain Pitrus refers to the theories of Rick Altman, David Bordwell and Jacek Ostaszewski. He concludes that the pleasure of playing Heavy Rain, comes above all from the sphere of building the narrative
Self-management and self-efficacy across the multiple sclerosis journey
Multiple Sclerosis (MS), the most common progressive neurological disease in young adults can take a relapsing remitting (RR) course especially in the early stages. There is a gap in knowledge in the application of self-management and self-efficacy with progressive long-term conditions. This research explored the experience of individuals with RRMS with particular focus on their attitudes to self-management and development of self-efficacy. The research addresses the question about engagement with self-management and self-efficacy influencing the journey of people with RRMS and their formal and informal carers. The research draws on the experiences, perspectives and understanding of the social processes and reality through interaction. Using grounded theory for generation of the themes captured from people with RRMS, their partners/carers and professionals involved in their care. The research design around a conceptual framework, used longitudinal studies capturing the experiences of people with RRMS and their partners/carers, through individual interviews and self-efficacy qualitative questionnaires over eight monthly meetings. The research sample of people with RRMS was three male and three female with an average age of 44.5 years, a mean duration with RRMS for 9.6 years. Professionals shared their perceptions and experiences through a focus group and individual interviews. Personal and reflective diaries kept by the researcher of events throughout the study enabled decision and audit trials to contribute to the rigour of the research. The data analysis has generated a number of themes that have been developed and presented throughout the thesis. The research process has generated new theory around the knowledge of and experiences of the three groups of research participants. Fluctuations of living with RRMS across roller coaster journeys, with transitional processes of daily changes and meanings brought threats and challenges. These highlight the importance of self-efficacy and self-control, of coping with uncertainty and unpredictability, through engaging with self-management behaviours. These enhanced perceptions of self- determination, positiveness, independence, quality of life and well-being. The transformation of uncertainty secured hope, opportunities and embracing RRMS through coping mechanisms and self-confidence. Formal and informal support was required where the People with RRMS deemed appropriate. The epistemological perspective has explored power as a multilayered and dynamic concept with different knowledge bases and issues that need addressing prior to successful partnership working. The research is original in terms of the groupings, the areas reviewed for this RRMS group and the potential for ongoing work, policy and practice changes both locally and nationally. Implications for practice, policy and further research were derived from the conclusions. In practice more empowerment, advice and information are required for people with RRMS to live independently. Policies for skills and knowledge training in these areas are required for shared decision-making and partnership working. Further research is required into utilisation of Integrated Care Management of ways of supporting independence, self-control and personalised plans for people with long- term conditions and their informal carers

by Kathy Harker
Five years has past since Jason Lang was gunned down
in the hallway of W.R. Meyers High School in Taber.
Reverend Dale Lang, Jason’s father, spent an hour with students
and interested community members on Wednesday in
the Tom Karren Gym to share his memories and message of
faith and forgiveness. For Reverend Lang, April 28 will
always be a memorable day - first, in 1977 his oldest son
was bom while he was working at Resolute Bay and was the
day he dedicated himself to a life centered around Jesus
Christ. April 28,1999 was the day his life changed again
when his son Jason was taken from this earth and he put
into practice the teachings of love and forgiveness he had
been studying and teaching.
Reverend Lang’s memories of what began as an ordinary
day include a pleasant drive with Jason before school
and as he stated, they were the “best of friends on the last
day of his life.” Being a normal father/son he said they had
moments of displeasure in their relationship but their last
time together left no regrets. He referred to the Apostle
Paul when he said, “Don’t let the sun go down on your
anger.” Rev. Lang’s words of wisdom to us were, “Don’t
leave home angry. Even when you argue, remember you
also love. You can’t guarantee today will be a normal day.
We don’t have the luxury of time to stay angry with anyone.”
Forgiveness is the opposite of revenge and Reverend
Lang has been an example of this right from the moment he
was at the hospital and was told Jason had died. Anger came
that his son was gone, but not at the boy who did the shooting.
His thoughts were that this must be a troubled person
to have done such a thing.
He said God gave him the grace to forgive and kept
him from the prison of anger. On the road to freedom and
Rev. Lang speaking to the Jr./Sr. High School at the Tom Karren Gym.
healing, Reverend Lang chose forgiveness. If he had not, the
boy and the incident would have control over his life.
The concluding message from Rev. Lang was that we
have the privilege of impacting the lives of those around us -
even those we don’t care for.
Through a story example, he taught that even a kind
word for a less popular person can impact that person. If
Jason’s killer had had a friend, Jason may still be here tod:,.
As the Spirit of Alberta played Amazing Grace, we pc -
dered truly amazing grace in ¡lie life of Reverend Lang.

Pastoral Charge of South
Alberta Presbytery, of
the United Church of
Canada.
Following the resignation
and departure of
Rev. David Moors, Mrs.
Michelle Moors and
infant daughter Molly, to
Rev. George Ward and his wife,
Rev. Rose Ward
Saskatoon the end of June 2002, the churches in Magrath

worship services in both churches were conducted each
Sunday morning by retired ministers and lay people of the
area, and were very well served.
In July, 2003 the Pastoral Charge was fortunate in
obtaining Rev. George Ward and his wife, Rev. Rose Ward
who took up residence in Cardston.
Rev. George Ward had been a chaplain in the Canadian
Armed Forces from 1974 to 1987 and was an ordained minister
since 1969- Rev. Rose Ward was ordained in 1987. The Wards
came to Cardston From Deloraine United Church in Manitoba
where they had been for five years. They had previously ministered
to churches at Unity, Sask, and Forestburg, Alberta.
The United Churches of Magrath and Cardston look
forward to a long and rewarding association with the Wards. ♦

Panda Basketball
This past weekend
saw the Pandas at the
Taber Tournament. They
first played Milk River,
winning by 21 points
then played Foremost,
winning by 30 points
before advancing to the
final game against Taber.
The Pandas handily won
84 - 54 taking home the
championship. Kim
Miller was honoured
with an All Star while
Mandee Sabey received
MVP for the tournament.
Zenith Basketball
The Zeniths also
travelled to the Taber
Tournament this past
weekend. Their first game was against St. Francis of Calgary
and Coach Ron Strate said, “St. Francis came out as hot a
shooting team as he had seen.” They made 6 three pointers
in the first 5 min. of play. The Zeniths just couldn’t catch up
to that deficit and lost 92 -76.
That placed the Zeniths on the consolation side where
they handily beat LCI 73 - 54. During this game Riley Sabey
came down from a rebound, landed on someone's foot and
ended up with a cracked ankle. Unfortunately, that means at
least three weeks off the court for him and in a cast for now.
Game for consolation was against Vauxhall, winning
73 - 42.
This Friday the Zeniths will be battling with the
Comets on home ground. The Tom Karren Gym should be
packed!

Hansen pulling down 8 rebounds.
Feb 7th the girls travelled to the Father Leonard Van
Tighem School to their Basketball Jamboree and they took
the championship. The team also won the foul shot and lay
up contests. Bonnie Balderson took top spot in the Hot Shot
Contest. Top scorer in the tournament was Sarah Balderson
with Jordan Hansen and Jenna Perks top rebounders.

Chinook Health Region Reminds
Travellers to Book Travel Consultation Early
That dream vacation can quickly become a nightmare
if you become sick in a strange land. The key to keeping
your health from going south while you're travelling is a
pre-trip visit to your local Community Health Office.
At the CHR’s Travel Clinics, public health staff will
advise you on the major health risks for your destination and
see that you get the appropriate immunizations. “We sit down
with you and determine - based on your itinerary, length of
stay and medical history - your risk for certain infections and
other diseases,” says Karen Thomas, Communicable Disease
Coordinator for the Chinook Health Region.
In addition to immunization, Travel Clinics provide
health education for travelers. Current health status and
consideration of chronic health needs - such as Diabetes - is
taken into account. Consultations also include special advisories
to travelers going to specific countries, information
and education related to food and water safety, insect precautions
for malaria and other insect related diseases, personal
safety, sun protection, and information on animal bites
and rabies.
All Travel Consultations are by appointment only so
travelers are urged to schedule an appointment at least four
weeks prior to their planned departure. “Some of these
immunization are a series of three injections, so it’s best to
book an appointment far in advance of your departure
date,” says Thomas.
The Travel Clinics are offered on a cost-recovery basis.

The Trouble Tree
Author Unknown, Submitted by Lis Jensen
I hired a plumber to help me restore an old farmhouse,
and after he had just finished a rough first day on the job, a flat
tire made him lose an hour of work & his electric drill quit, and
bis ancient one ton truck refused to start. As I drove him home,
he sat in stony silence. On arriving he invited me in to meet his
family. As we walked toward the front door, he paused briefly at
a small tree, touching the tips of the branches with both hands.
Upon opening the door he had undergone an amazing transformation.
His tanned face was wreathed in smiles and he hugged
his two small children and gave his wife a kiss.
Afterward he walked me to the car. We passed the tree
and my curiosity got the better of me. I asked him about what I
had seen him do at the little tree. “Oh, that’s my trouble tree,”
he replied. “I know I can’t help having troubles on the job, but
one thing’s for sure, those troubles don’t belong in the house
with my wife and the children. So I just hang them up on the
tree every night when I come home and ask God to take care
of them. Then in the morning I pick them up again. Funny
thing is,” he smiled, “when I come out in the morning to pick
them up, there aren’t nearly as many as I remember hanging up
the night before.” ♦
