Ontology matching evaluation : A statistical perspective
This paper proposes statistical approaches to test if the difference between two ontology matchers is real. Specifically, the performances of the matchers over multiple data sets are obtained and based on their performances, the conclusion can be drawn whether one method is better than one another or not. To do so, the paired t-test and Wilcoxon signed rank test are proposed and the comparisons over six recently proposed methods are reported. © 2016, CEUR-WS. All rights reserved
A WS-Addressing Profile for Distributed Process Documentation
Process documentation can often be distributed across different provenance stores. To enable the discovery of related process documentation, a mechanism is required to link disparate but related process documentation to enable the effective collection of such documentation in order to answer provenance queries. This document represents a WS-addressing profile on distributed process documentation that provides mechanisms to solve this problem
A 3-POSITION TRANSMISSION REFLECTION METHOD FOR MEASURING THE PERMITTIVITY OF LOW-LOSS MATERIALS
A 3-position transmission/reflection method for measuring the permittivity of low loss materials is presented. In this method, the measurement errors of the permittivity due to 1) the mismatch at the connections, 2) the metallic loss of the holder, 3) the uncertainty of sample position in the airline, and 4) the imperfection of the calibration kit can be removed by the measured data for a sample at three different positions. Experimental results for a low loss engineering plastic (tan delta congruent-to 0.025) are included.X1137sciescopu
Can models of author intention support quality assessment of content?
Academics seek to find, understand and critically review the work of other researchers through published scientific articles. In recent years, the volume of available information has significantly increased, partly due to technological advancements and partly due to pressures on academics to 'publish or perish'. This amount of papers presents a challenge not only for the peer-review process but also for readers, particularly inexperienced readers, to find publications of high quality. Whilst one might rely on citation or journal rankings to help guide this decision, this approach may not be completely reliable due to biased peer-review processes and the fact that the citation count of an article does not per se indicate its quality. Here, we analyse how expected author intentions in a Related Work section can be used to indicate its quality. We show that author intentions can predict the quality with reasonable accuracy and propose that similar approaches could be used in other sections to provide an overall picture of quality. This approach could be useful in supporting peer-review processes and for a reader in prioritising articles to read. © 2019 CEUR-WS. All rights reserved.Peer reviewe
Service-oriented models for audiovisual content storage
What are the important topics to understand if involved with storage services to hold digital audiovisual content? This report takes a look at how content is created and moves into and out of storage; the storage service value networks and architectures found now and expected in the future; what sort of data transfer is expected to and from an audiovisual archive; what transfer protocols to use; and a summary of security and interface issues
Complex Event Processing Network Usage in WS-BPEL Processes
WS-Notification).
Atslēgas vārdi: BPM, RTBPM, CEP, WSRF, WSN, integrācija.Recently a new market segment has emerged in business process management which is oriented towards real time business process management (RTBPM). On the other hand a topical area is Complex Event Processing (CEP) with CEP engines, which has developed independently of business process management. Unfortunately CEP engines are used rarely to implement RTBPM solutions.
Author extends the CEP engine abstraction with a CEP network which represents an infrastructure for event processing in a multi system environment. In this paper author provides CEP network and WS-BPEL (WS-Business Process Execution Language, selected business process model) engine integrated RTBPM solution as well a practical implementation of this solution. Main solution idea is to encapsulate CEP network queries in WSRF (WS-Resource Framework) resources which then allow WS-BPEL processes to receive events using WSN (WS-Notification).

An Architecture for Provenance Systems
This document covers the logical and process architectures of provenance systems. The logical architecture identifies key roles and their interactions, whereas the process architecture discusses distribution and security. A fundamental aspect of our presentation is its technology-independent nature, which makes it reusable: the principles that are exposed in this document may be applied to different technologies
Bottom-up Electrosynthesis of Highly Active Tungsten Sulfide (WS3–<i>x</i>) Films for Hydrogen Evolution
Transition metal dichalcogenides
have been extensively studied
as promising earth-abundant electrocatalysts for hydrogen evolution
reaction (HER). However, despite the intention to achieve sustainable
energy generation, conventional syntheses typically use environmentally
damaging reagents and energy-demanding preparation conditions. Hence,
we present electrochemical synthesis as a green and versatile alternative
to traditional methods. In this fundamental study, we demonstrated
the bottom-up synthesis of a mixed WS2/WS3 film-like
material via cyclic voltammetry (CV). The film-like material can be
directly electrosynthesized on any conductive substrates and renders
the catalyst immobilization step redundant. Through stepwise analysis
of deposition voltammograms facilitated by straightforward modification
of CV conditions, and characterization using X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy
(XPS), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and energy-dispersive X-ray
spectroscopy (EDS), a two-step mechanism involving the initial WS3 deposition and subsequent partial reduction to WS2 was proposed. The WS2/WS3 material was determined
to possess composition of WS2.64. Compared to non-electrosynthesized
WS<i>x</i> materials, its predominantly basal
orientation limited the heterogeneous electron transfer rate toward
surface-sensitive redox couples. However, WS2.64 demonstrated
excellent HER activity, with the lowest Tafel slope of 43.7 mV dec–1 to date; this was attributed to different metal-chalcogen
binding strengths within WS2.64. Fundamental understanding
of the electrosynthesis process is crucial for green syntheses of
inexpensive and highly electrocatalytically active materials for sustainable
energy production. Albeit, the process may be different for a myriad
of nanomaterials, this study can be exploited for its analyses from
which the conclusions were made, to empower electrochemical synthesis
as the prime fabrication approach for HER electrocatalyst development
