CINEMA OF THE FUTURE: Value Creation Through Digital Technologies and IoT
I dette kandidatprojekt er Nordisk Film Cinema blevet undersøgt. Studiet omhandler, hvordan de Skandinaviske biografer kan skabe mere værdi for deres organisation og for biografgængerne. Nuværende tendenser viser at flere forbrugere i dag forventer og påskønner personaliserede services. Af denne grund begynder mange virksomheder at ændre deres platforme til at efterleve forbrugernes behov. Nye teknologier såsom Internet of Things og digitale services, kan bidrage til at indsamle mere data om forbrugernes præferencer og behov. Studiet forsøger at undersøge, hvordan biograferne kan bruge digitale teknologier til at forbedre deres viden om forbrugerne, samt skabe personalisering. Opgaven er opbygget på grundprincipperne i business modellen STOF. I studiet er der blevet fortaget seks interviews, hvoraf de tre var med Nordisk Film medarbejdere, og de resterende med specialister indenfor privatlivspolitik og sensorer. Et spørgeskema er også blevet distribueret til 152 biografgængere, hvoraf ni efterfølgende interviews er blevet fortaget. Projektet har resulteret i en række anbefalinger til Nordisk Film Cinema. Disse inkluderer anbefalersystemer til personalisering, flere automatiserede processer, fokus på forbrugeren i organisationen, mere vidensdeling i Nordisk Film og en fremadrettet fokus på fremtidens biografgængere og deres behov

Device Fingerprinting by News Media Websites in EU: An analysis of data taken in 3 different point of times
The current study is inspired from the audience’s ability through different devices used to generate the data for the news media companies while browsing their websites. The research intends to answer the main research question ‘How do news media companies in EU captured audience data after the implementation of new GDPR’ through three sub-questions including ‘what are the techniques of audience data gathering through device fingerprinting’, ‘which countries in EU have an increased percentage of capturing data from audiences using device fingerprinting’, and ‘what are the transitions in capturing device fingerprints over different time periods after the implementation of GDPR’. The research then followed a literature review which inspired to apply theory of audience commodity and digital labor theory in the research process. The research was followed with a quantitative research using big-data received from scholars Sørensen & Kosta (2019) who observed and captured data from several websites in three point of times including June 2018, February 2019 and June 2019. This helped this research to refine and retrieve the relevant data form twenty-eight countries and get the results for identifying what kind of data is retrieved through device fingerprinting, the countries with a percentage level of capturing device fingerprints, and a transition over the three time periods in capturing the device fingerprints. The results showed that after GDPR, news media companies still use device fingerprinting to capture the audience data; however, the percentage levels of identifying unique device fingerprints has been decreased from June 2018 till June 2019 by news media companies in 20 out of 28 European countries. Despite of this drop in capturing device fingerprinting data, it cannot be confirmed whether it is due to GDPR or there are other reasons as the intermediary transitions are still not convincing to agree that GDPR is influencing the news media companies to capture least data from the audience

Digital Twins in Healthcare: Conceptualisation and Privacy Aspects
The digital twin technology is experiencing increasing popularity and is being applied in fields such as manufacturing, product lifecycle management, prognostics and health management, waste management, and smart cities. A digital twin is a virtual representation of a physical product, consisting of three main components: the physical object, its virtual equivalent, and the data connection between the physical and the virtual entity. Digital twins support the physical system regarding maintenance, prediction, and simulation. Healthcare is an up-and-coming, yet relatively uncharted and complex field of application for digital twins as the physical object is the human. This master thesis aims to explore how digital twins can be implemented in healthcare in a privacy friendly manner. Firstly, specific privacy challenges associated with digital twins in healthcare are identified. Secondly, the influence of the identified privacy risks on the implementation of digital twins is of interest. For this purpose, an adapted step-by-step process based on Requirements Engineering serves as the underlying methodological approach to identify essential prerequisites from stakeholders while uncovering the challenges that digital twins in healthcare pose. Within these steps, semi-structured expert interviews with six participants knowledgeable in the field of digital twins, digital twins in healthcare, and privacy studies are conducted. The findings gathered in the interviews are analysed using Mayring’s approach for qualitative text analysis and are interpreted in relation to relevant literature and theories in the field of digital health and digital twins. Finally, the insights are discussed critically and assembled into a model. The outcome is a visualisation of the digital twin infrastructure that includes the main components in the physical and virtual space, as well as their relationship with another. Additionally, the challenges and privacy friendly design strategies to counteract the issues are included. This conceptual framework of the implementation of digital twins in the field of healthcare acts as a guide on what needs to be taken into consideration when developing such technology and serves as a source for further research in the field of digital twins in the health domain
