Significant environmental benefits have been achieved by the introduction of three-way catalysts (TWC) in motor vehicles. Palladium is a
crucial, expensive component of TWC and has limited natural availability. Its recovery has economic and environmental relevance depending
also from the large number of TWC which are going to be dismissed shortly. A friendly and effective Pd-recovering method from TWC has
been found and is proposed here to replace the unattractive methods currently in use
