Museum metaphysics
This review deals with the book by S. V. Klimenko, a well-known philologist, a staff member of the N. G. Chernyshevskiy Estate Museum. It shows the academic character of the book under review. The book is timed according to the periods of the author’s creative life, but at the same time the identified periods appear to be crucial for the history of the museum as they were linked to anniversaries of N. G. Chernyshevskiy or memorable dates in the history of the museum itself. The content of the book combines fascinating stories about the creation of new museum “products” and the definition of the essence and purpose of the profession of someone whose life is connected to a literary museum. A literary museum worker is presented in the book as a person for whom the literary studies of sources become not only a process inseparable from the museum work but also an object of academic research and exploration. Considerable attention is paid to the problems of museum work as the most important area of humanitarian knowledge. S. V. Klimenko is also concerned with the issues of personnel training and funding. An important point for the author of the book becomes the question of what materials a separate museum exhibition or a large exposition should be based on. S.V. Klimenko assigns great importance to the development of the concept of an exhibition or exposition in museum work. Discussions that accompany the emergence of any new “product” represent the birth of the concept, i.e. understanding of the principles of material selection, logic of its presentation and scientific commentary. The author of the book advocates the conceptual approach to the presentation of museum exhibits in showcases or on walls in an essentially rigorous way. S. V. Klimenko has succeeded not only in opening the world of the literary museum to the reader, but in showing its heartbeat in several dimensions, projected on the science, source studies, archives, education, working with the visitors, and the work of exhibition designers

Assessment of historical polymers using attenuated total reflectance-Fourier transform infra-red spectroscopy with principal component analysis
Introduction: Attenuated total reflectance-Fourier transform infrared (ATR-FTIR) spectroscopy with a diamond ATR crystal was used to examine 41 historical polymer fragments and a selection of polyurethane fragments subjected to accelerated ageing. The advantages and limitations of FTIR data for polymer assessment is discussed. Moreover the efficacy of the data interpretation tool principal component analysis (PCA) is debated for potential applications in polymer characterisation and polymer degradation. Results: Analysis of polymer fragments by ATR-FTIR spectra was shown, as expected, to be an ideal method for polymer classification. Curved surfaces could be tolerated when spectral data were carefully collected, similarly opaque samples could be analysed due to the reflective nature of the FTIR technique used. More importantly perhaps, these results reaffirm the necessity to examine individual spectra as further information can be obtained which allow a better understanding of the material's stability. It was possible to identify potential degradation of cellulose nitrate and rubber, discriminate between the ether and ester-form of polyurethane, and discriminate between high and low density polyethylene. It was also shown that PCA could be used to unambiguously identify samples which contained cellulose acetate, cellulose nitrate, polycarbonate or polyurethane with a selection of known samples, but without the use of a spectral library. Conclusions: This study supports previous publication results indicating that ATR-FTIR is a useful tool for the examination of objects containing polymers. Here it was shown that polymers could be characterised in object fragments that were not specially prepared and without the use of a spectral library. PCA was shown to be a useful tool for the unambiguous identification of cellulose acetate, cellulose nitrate, polycarbonate or polyurethane polymers in historical plastics with different additives, plasticisers or age. More excitingly, even though spectral features were similar for new and aged samples of polyurethane, PCA was able to discriminate between samples of foam that had been treated by heat (50°C for 24 h or 144 h) or by exposure to light, although more results for other polymeric materials are required to support this proof of concept study
Особенности профессионального выгорания врачей-онкологов
Introduction. The present paper considers the issue of emotional burnout among doctors of oncology departments. The profession of a doctor refers to so-called socionomic professions, which are associated with higher socio-psychological requirements as well as mental and psycho-emotional stress. The relevance of the study stems from the persistent psycho-emotional problems that arise in the process of professional activity of oncologists. Aim. To study theoretical aspects of professional burnout, to carry out experimental evaluation of professional burnout among oncologists and to develop the preventive measures contributing to reduction in symptoms of emotional burnout in oncologists. Materials and methods. The author conducted an experimental study of the emotional burnout among oncologists and explored the diagnostics aspects of emotional burnout. The experiment was carried out by means of the questionnaire “Diagnostics of the level of emotional burnout” (V. V. Boyko). The study sample consisted of 50 oncologists. Results and discussion. The author revealed that the symptom “experiencing psychotraumatic circumstances” is highly expressed at the stress stage in the group of oncologists with developed emotional burnout (24, 58). The symptom shows preventive reaction to the influencing aspects for emotional burnout: “emotional response” (24, 6), “reduced job performance” (31, 66), characterizing the methods of mental support; the “emotional defi cit” (25, 33), “emotional detachment” (28,12), reflecting the state of parasympathetic nervous system, are considered as the main symptom at the overstrain stage. It was found that the work with critically ill patients demands high level of professional competence, considering the increased responsibility and constant emotional stress. Conclusion. The results of the study confi rm the presence of leading symptoms in developing emotional burnout. In order to prevent the development of emotional burnout syndrome, the author proposes to introduce psychological training programs on various topics in medical institutions to minimize professional burnout and to develop soft skills, including self-regulation in communication.
Regulation of immune responses, apoptosis, and tumorigenesis by separate FOXP-3-dependent genes: Connection with clinical manifestations
Recently, forkhead/winged-helix family box protein P3 (FOXP-3) was described as the main regulator of regulatory T cells’ activity. This transcription factor has the ability to control the immunosuppressive response of regulatory T cells. FOXP-3 has binding sites for different genes specific for proteins with various important functions. In this article, selected FOXP-3-dependent genes with known functions were divided into two groups. The first group of genes has main immunoregulatory functions, and the second group has the ability to regulate apoptosis and tumorigenesis. Investigation of the functions of all FOXP-3-dependent genes opens perspectives for applications in different fields of basic and clinical research
