Frequency-Hopping/M -ary Frequency-Shift Keying for Wireless Sensor Networks: Noncoherent Detection and Performance
In this paper, a novel WSN framework, namely the FH/MFSK WSN, is proposed, which monitors M -ary events and conveys signals from local sensors to fusion center with the aid of frequency-hopping (FH) and M -ary frequency-shift keying (MFSK) techniques. The source events under observation by local sensors are assumed to have M states. The estimates of local sensors are transmitted to the fusion center using MFSK modulation aided by FH. Channels from local sensors to fusion center are modelled either as additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) channels or as Rayleigh fading channels. At the fusion center, signals are noncoherently detected based on square-law principles aided by equal gain combining (EGC). In this paper, the detection performance of the FH/MFSK WSN is investigated by simulation approaches. Our studies show that the FH/MFSK constitutes one of the promising schemes for efficient information delivery in WSNs. Deficits in high- (>60 Hz) gamma-band oscillations during visual processing in schizophrenia
Current theories of the pathophysiology of schizophrenia have focused on abnormal temporal coordination of neural activity. Oscillations in the gamma-band range (>25 Hz) are of particular interest as they establish synchronization with great precision in local cortical networks. However, the contribution of high gamma (>60 Hz) oscillations toward the pathophysiology is less established. To address this issue, we recorded magnetoencephalographic (MEG) data from 16 medicated patients with chronic schizophrenia and 16 controls during the perception of Mooney faces. MEG data were analysed in the 25–150 Hz frequency range. Patients showed elevated reaction times and reduced detection rates during the perception of upright Mooney faces while responses to inverted stimuli were intact. Impaired processing of Mooney faces in schizophrenia patients was accompanied by a pronounced reduction in spectral power between 60–120 Hz (effect size: d = 1.26) which was correlated with disorganized symptoms (r = −0.72). Our findings demonstrate that deficits in high gamma-band oscillations as measured by MEG are a sensitive marker for aberrant cortical functioning in schizophrenia, suggesting an important aspect of the pathophysiology of the disorder

Economic revitalization and city branding practices in the old industrial base in northeast China
The old northeastern industrial base, including Liaoning province, Jilin province and Heilongjiang province, used to be the most developed areas in China back in 1980s. Now they are going through a tough time in recent years. GDP growth rate of the northeast kept declining and below national average in the past ten years. Liaoning, the biggest economy entity in the northeast, even negative growth in 2015. Two facts should be blamed for, including single industrial structure and rigid governmental and economic system. Main industries in the northeast are resource-based heavy industry and manufacturing, which almost account for half of its GDP. This single economic structure can hardly maintain economic growth when its secondary industry is stagnating and even recession. And that is the situation in the northeast. Another problem is the lack of innovation caused by rigid governmental and economic system. Governmental institution still dominates the allocation of market resources. Specifically, state-owned enterprises are the main force in the market, and private economy is weak. While, state-owned enterprises cannot count on to initiate innovation..
