Coordinated hybrid precoding design in millimeter wave fog-RAN

    No full text
In this paper, we propose a femto base station cluster (FBSC)-based fog radio access network (F-RAN) structure, where multiple FBSs coordinately serve users in each FBSC with mmWave band. In addition, the FBS head (FBSH) in each FBSC receives data from the central processor (CP) via fronthaul link with microwave band. Based on this, we formulate a transmission delay minimization problem by optimizing coordinated hybrid analog/digital precoding under transmit power constraints of each FBS in the FBSCs and the BS in the CP. Then, we propose a coordinated analog precoding scheme for multiple FBSs within the same FBSC. Meanwhile, we equivalently divide the original problem into two independent optimization problems, and propose an effective iterative algorithm to solve them. Simulation results show the effectiveness of our proposed algorithms

W-operators and generating functions of hurwitz numbers

    No full text
This thesis is motivated by the W-operators introduced by Mironov et al. We prove that the W-operators are generalizations of the cut-and-join operator studied by Goulden and Jackson. We give a new description of the structure of W-operators, using the combinations of symmetric groups. As an application, we prove new formulas about generating functions of connected Hurwitz numbers and give topological recursion formulas for d-Hurwitz numbers.Submission published under a 24 month embargo labeled 'Closed Access', the embargo will last until 2020-05-01The student, Hao Sun, accepted the attached license on 2018-04-17 at 14:47.The student, Hao Sun, submitted this Dissertation for approval on 2018-04-17 at 14:59.This Dissertation was approved for publication on 2018-04-18 at 09:36.DSpace SAF Submission Ingestion Package generated from Vireo submission #12313 on 2018-08-31 at 17:29:30Made available in DSpace on 2018-09-04T20:47:19Z (GMT). A Constant Factor Approximation for Directed Feedback Vertex Set in Graphs of Bounded Genus

    No full text
The minimum directed feedback vertex set problem consists in finding the minimum set of vertices that should be removed in order to make a directed graph acyclic. This is a well-known NP-hard optimization problem with applications in various fields, such as VLSI chip design, bioinformatics and transaction processing deadlock prevention and node-weighted network design. We show a constant factor approximation for the directed feedback vertex set problem in graphs of bounded genus
