Landscape functionality, cost effectiveness, and environmental impacts are a few of the items discussed. THE BASE PLAN describes how information is gathered, compiled and used in the development of a landscape design. How to conduct an interview, carry out a site survey and site analysis, and how to use information collected from counties, municipalities and developers are some of the topics discussed. THE LANDSCAPE DESIGN SEQUENCE explains the essential steps to create a sustainable landscape design. The design sequence includes the creation of bubble diagrams, concept plans, and draft designs THE COMPLETED LANDSCAPE DESIGN describes the transition from a draft to the completed landscape design. Important principles and elements of design are defined. Examples of how each is used in the development of a sustainable design are included.Weisenhorn, Julie; Ripp, Tim; Vaughan, Elizabeth. (2018).

Wage Dispersion and Equilibrium Search Models: Some Evidence from Italy

    No full text
This paper provides a structural estimation of an equilibrium search model with on-the-job search and heterogeneity in firms' productivities using a sample of Italian male workers. Results indicate that arrival rates of offers for workers are higher when unemployed than when employed and firms exploit their monopsony power when setting wages. As a result, workers earn far less than their marginal product. The model is then used to study regional labour market differentials in Italy. Wide variation in frictional transition parameters across areas helps to explain persistent unemployment and wage differentials. Copyright 2008 The Author. Sulis's story is part of a peer-reviewed edited volume of women's life stories that draws on detailed ethnographic research of village women's lived experiences and how they, individually and collectively, have taken action to influence village development in Indonesia's multi-level governance structure under the new Village Law in Indonesia. The analysis identifies the processes of women's empowerment, their involvement in grassroots women's collective action, engagement with civil society organisations, and how women influence village institutions, policies, development spending and priorities, and new projects as well as social norms in communities. Sulis lives in Tanggamus, Lampung. Through her organisation of youth music groups, she was selected as Head of the Community Welfare Section, a position she has held for thirteen years. Her concern for her community led to the Village Head selecting her to take part in DAMAR's gender awareness training program and, over time, Sulis has become one of its leaders. Sulis is also a key contact point to explain government health insurance policy to her community. Sulis has applied what she learnt in FAKTA-DAMAR classes and felt able to talk to her husband about how to understand gender equality and has developed her leadership and organisational skills. For Sulis, DAMAR's training has enhanced her leadership capabilities. It was the catalyst for her nomination for the 2020 Village Head election
