Pendampingan Pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris Berbasis Canva Bagi Siswa SD
Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PkM) ini dilaksanakan dengan tujuan untuk meningkatkan kompetensi bahasa Inggris siswa SD. Kegiatan PkM dilaksanakan oleh Prodi Pendidikan Dasar dan PGSD bekerja sama dengan siswa SD 1 Sribitan pada hari Kamis, 2 Februari s.d. 9 Februari 2023. Kegiatan dilaksanakan secara luring di SD 1 Sribitan, Bangun Jiwo, Kasihan. Adapun peserta kegiatan yaitu siswa SD 1 Sribitan, Bangun Jiwo, Kasihan. Pelaksanaan kegiatan diawali dengan pemaparan materi oleh masing-masing 2 narasumber, dilanjutkan sesi pembelajaran bahasa Inggris untuk siswa SD menggunakan Canva oleh mahasiswa Prodi Pendidikan Dasar, PGSD, dan PBI, kemudian diskusi dan tanya jawab, dan dilanjutkan dengan diskusi tanya jawab pembelajaran bahasa Inggris. Hasil dari kegiatan ini yaitu kegiatan berjalan lancar, cukup banyak manfaat yang diperoleh para peserta, diantaranya mendapatkan tambahan pengetahuan terkait pembelajaran bahasa Inggris untuk siswa SD. Community Service Activities (PkM) are carried out with the aim of increasing the English competence of elementary school students. PkM activities were carried out by the Primary Education Study Program and elementary school teacher education collaboration with SD 1 Sribitan students from Thursday, 2 February to 9 February 2023. The activity was carried out offline at SD 1 Sribitan, Bangun Jiwo, Kasihan. The activity participants were SD 1 Sribitan students, Bangun Jiwo, Kasihan. The implementation of the activity began with the presentation of material by each of the 2 speakers, followed by an English learning session for elementary students using Canva by students of the Primary Education Study Program, elementary school teacher education, and English education then discussion and question and answer, and continued with a question and answer discussion on learning English. The result of this activity was that the activity ran smoothly, and the participants gained quite a lot of benefits, including getting additional knowledge related to learning English for elementary students
Assessment of Techniques Employed by Basic Teachers in Reducing Pupils Undesirable Behaviours in Classrooms in Ilorin South Local Government Area of Kwara State
The purpose of this research is to examine the Techniques Employed by Basic Teachers in Reducing Pupils Undesirable Behaviours in Classrooms in the Ilorin South Local Government Area of Kwara State, Nigeria. Recently, the issue of undesirable behaviors among children in our society today and the world at large specifically in schools has become worrisome and a major cause for concern for parents, teachers, educational stakeholders, and other related agencies in the field. This study adopted a descriptive type of research design. The study comprised all public primary school teachers in Ilorin South. Multi-phasic sampling techniques were used in this study that is, Purposive and proportional sampling techniques were used to select one hundred and eleven (111) qualified basic school teachers across the fifteen (15) selected schools while the fifteen (15) schools selected using simple random sampling techniques. The research instrument employed was a researcher’s designed questionnaire in which the test re-test reliability method was used to determine the validity and reliability of the instrument using Pearson product-moment correlation (PPMC) and a co-efficient of 0.93 was established. The findings from this study showed that Teachers’ years of experience, age and educational qualification have a significant influence on the kind of techniques employed by the teachers while teachers’ gender was found not to have any significant influence on the kind of techniques they employed. The recommendation was made based on these findings.
