No full textTarihçi ve edebiyatçı yönleriyle öne çıkan Reşad Ekrem Koçu çeşitli alanlarda eserler kaleme almış bir şahsiyettir. Onun en önemli eserlerinin başında ise İstanbul Ansiklopedisi gelmektedir. İstanbul Ansiklopedisi pek çok alanda içerdiği ciddi ölçüdeki bilgisiyle dikkati çeken bir eserdir. İstanbul Ansiklopedisi’nin bilgi ihtiva ettiği önemli alanlardan biri de Yeni Türk edebiyatıdır. Tezimizde İstanbul Ansiklopedisi’nin doğrudan veya dolaylı olarak Yeni Türk edebiyatı ile ilgili olan maddeleri tespit, tasnif ve tetkik edilmektedir. Ayrıca İstanbul Ansiklopedisi’nin Yeni Türk edebiyatı ile ilgili olan çizimlerinden de örnekler verilmektedir. His most significant work is İstanbul Ansiklopedisi. İstanbul Ansiklopedisi attracts attention because it has too much information about many fields. One of the important areas that İstanbul Ansiklopedisi has in New Turkish literature. In our thesis; the items related with the New Turkish literature are investigated, identified and classified directly or indirectly. No full text06.03.2018 tarihli ve 30352 sayılı Resmi Gazetede yayımlanan “Yükseköğretim Kanunu İle Bazı Kanun Ve Kanun Hükmünde Kararnamelerde Değişiklik Yapılması Hakkında Kanun” ile 18.06.2018 tarihli “Lisansüstü Tezlerin Elektronik Ortamda Toplanması, Düzenlenmesi ve Erişime Açılmasına İlişkin Yönerge” gereğince tam metin erişime açılmıştır.Yeni a dergisi 1956-1960 yılları arasında yayımlanan a dergisinin devamı olarak 1 Nisan 1972'de çıkmaya başlamıştır. 12 Mart İhtilâli'nden hemen sonra çıkan dergide, Türkiye'nin içinde bulunduğu sıkıntılı dönemi hissetmek mümkündür. Derginin yeniden yayımlanma amaçlarından biri de "1968 kuşağı" diye tabir edilen gençliğin önünü kesmeye çalışan yönetimi eleştirmektir. Bu amaç aynı zamanda dergide yayımlanan fikir yazılarının, şiirlerin, hikâyelerin, röportajların da konusunu büyük ölçüde belirlemiştir. Tezimizin amacı Yeni a dergisi penceresinden bir anlamda dönemin panoramasını çıkarmaktır. Dergide yer alan ürünler incelendiğinde, bu metinlerin dönemin atmosferiyle birlikte zaman zaman edebî dilden çıkıp politik bir söyleme dönüştüğü de görülmektedir. Bu dilin sebeplerinden biri de dergi kadrosunun eserlerini toplumcu gerçekçi akımıla biçimlendiriyor olmalarıdır. Tezimiz üç bölüme ayrılmıştır. İlk bölümde dünyada ve Türkiye'de dergi tarihi kısaca ele alınıp, dönemini etkileyen dergiler üzerinde durulmuştur. Ayrıca 12 Mart Muhtırası'na zemin hazırlayan, önce Fransa'da başlayıp daha sonra etkileri Türkiye'de de görülen "1968 kuşağı" incelenmeye çalışılmıştır. İkinci bölümde, Yeni a dergisinin tanıtımı yapılmış, dergide çıkan yazıların üzerinde tek tek durulmuştur. Üçüncü bölümde ise önce dergi numarasına göre, sonra da yazarların soyadlarına göre fihrist çıkarılmıştır. Yayımlandığı dönemde Sosyalist kimliği baskın olan kişileri etrafında toplamayı başarmış ve dönemine ışık tutmak gibi bir misyona sahip olması bakımından Yeni a'nın Türk edebiyatında oynadığı rol sonuç bölümde değerlendirilmiştir.The 1970s were "rich" years, in terms of journalism, in Turkey. The Yeni a magazine can be counted as one of the seriches. Between April 1, 1974 and June 1, 1974, twenty seven issues were published under this title. The publishing years of the journal were quite painful for Turkey. Turkey, yet unableto recover from the effects of May 27 coupd'etat, wasthis time facing the March 12 Memorandum.While this process has affected everything in the country, the publishing world had also taken its share. Forth is reason, the situation of the country was taken into consideration while examining the Yeni a. Ourthes is consists of three parts. In the first part, the world of pres and publishing both around the globe and in our country has been mentioned. The journals, that has managed to become corner stones,effected theer a andattract edvastamounts of reader saround itself in Turkey until the 1970s were briefly introduced.In addition to this, some in formation about, the "1968 Generation" , which had effected the World andour country, that has shaped the contents of the Yeni a were given andits effects on the journal were emphasized. In these condchapter, the journal is introduce dand some articles and poems that were published in the journal were examined. There percussions of these writings, in the world of literature at the time of the journal,were emphasized. Inthethird chapter, the Works that were published in the journalarelisted first by numbers, then by author names. Inthe conclusion section, a general evaluation was made on the place and importance of the journal in our literature with there sults that were obtained from this study

No full textIn April 2018, 7 Husbands for Hurmuz (7 Kocalı Hürmüz), a popular musical comedy farce from Turkey, was staged by Arcola Alaturka, a Turkish-speaking theatre group based in East London. This production was performed by migrant actors and musicians with a predominantly migrant audience in mind. A production of 7 Kocalı Hürmüz was included in the Ankara State Theatre’s 2017–18 season, and another large scale production directed and produced by established comedian Müjdat Gezen has, at the time of writing, been selling out in Istanbul.
Set in a time when a man was permitted more than one wife, the plot of 7 Husbands for Hurmuz is a reversal of this situation: the central character is a woman (Hurmuz) who has married six husbands – none of whom knows about the others – as a way of solving her money problems. She sees each husband on a different day of the week, but mayhem ensues when Hurmuz falls in love with a seventh man, and then all seven turn up to see her on the same day. Farce, slapstick and absurdity combine in a satire, which is also an extension of folk theatre forms relating to specific Asian performance styles – drawing on both ortaoyunu and meddah traditions in Turkey. It can be argued that 7 Husbands for Hurmuz has caused controversy because although the play features an array of strong female characters, it has been perceived as both feminist and anti-feminist.
The following piece is a conversation between Naz Yeni, the director of the Arcola production, and Alejandro Postigo, author and performer of The Copla Musical, a tribute to the anti-Franco Spanish drag artist La Gitana. The Copla Musical explores an intercultural adaptation of the early twentieth-century Spanish folkloric song-form of copla, merged with elements found in Anglo-American musical theatre structures such as book musicals, revues and jukebox shows. Copla ceased to develop during Franco’s regime (1939–1975). Forty years later, The Copla Musical aims to rejuvenate copla interculturally. The show is supported by academic research that questions how to share the Spanish experience of copla with an international audience of diverse cultural backgrounds, and how to introduce copla’s background as a storytelling form, a folkloric genre and a subversive tool beyond the Spanish twentieth-century zeitgeist. The conversation explores the many challenges of translating songs and theatre works from one language to another for a multicultural and multilingual audience
