[原著]Medical service areas in Okinawa Part 2. Local features of southern Okinawa

    Get PDF
Based on the basic policy for health and medical services, Okinawa Island is divided into four areas such as northern, central, southern and Naha to meet the medical needs of the residents of each area. The author has reported in Part 1 that the sufficiency rate for medical services within the areas in northern, central and Naha areas was not high enough, but had recognized the conformlty between the planned areas and the empirical ones. The southern area, however, had not recognized to be independent medical service area and was practically included into the Naha area. In this paper, the author had studied local features of the southern area in order to make clear the reasons of non-independency as a service area.論

An agriprecision decision support system for weed management in pastures

    No full text
Pastures are a vital source of dairy products and cattle nutrition, and as such, play a significant role in New Zealand’s agricultural economy. However, weeds can be a major problem for pastures, making it a challenge for dairy farmers to monitor and control them. Currently, most of the tasks for weed management are done manually, and farmers lack persistent technology for weed control. This motivated us to design, implement, and evaluate a Decision Support System (DSS) to detect weeds in pastures and provide decisions for the cleanup of weeds. Our proposed system uses two primary inputs: weeds and bare patches. We created a synthetic dataset to train a weed detection model and designed a fuzzy inference system to assess a pasture. We also used a neuro-fuzzy system in our DSS to evaluate our fuzzy model and tune its parameters for better functioning and accuracy. Our work aims to assist dairy farmers in better weed monitoring, as well as to provide 2D maps of weed density and yield score, which can be of significant value when no digital and meaningful images of pastures exist. The system can also support farmers in scheduling, recommending prohibitive tasks, and storing historical data for pasture analysis, collaborated by stakeholders.fuzzy systemsobject detectionpasture managementdecision makingdecision support systemsfuzzy neural networksPeer reviewe

Time and place of progressive regional metamorphism: a repley to N. D. Chatterjee

    No full text
Misreading of some published papers has led Dr. N. D.Chatterjee to erroneous conclusions about the local geology in the Ghatsila area in Singhbhum, eastern India, and his doubts regarding the metamorphic history deduced by the author here are therefore unjustified. The stratigraphy and structural geometry in this terrain are not at all debatable, and the evidences for a progressive metamorphism broadly contemporaneous with folding and preceding thrusting are incontrovertible. To take any particular metamorphic terrain, whether Simplon or Singhbhum, as the prototype of regional metamorphism is as yet premature

    Las competencias interculturales

The purpose of this article is to analyze in general the concept of  "competition" and its relation with the Regional Autonomous Educational System (SEAR). One of the SEAR main principles is the interculturality; for this reason, this review addresses particularly the intercultural competitions. The starting point of this concept is what is known as Program Oriented to the Integral Human Development (CODHI), which is a curricular scheme-project based on the humanistic and liberating tradition in the Latin American context.
