    This corpus contains audio recordings released by participants under the terms of the Growing Collection. To access this audio, you must agree to the terms of use. This Corpus contains audio recordings and associated information created using the Green Grass Park (Mandarin Chinese) speech elicitation tool (Pan, Fong & Styles, 2020), which highlights the /y/ vowel. 50 young adult speakers (25 male, 25 female) were recorded, speaking for 2-7 minutes each. In the current release, files are annotated for target words and target vowels. See Corpus Documentation for further details

    Audio recordings for the following preregistered study: Bin Mustaffa, MA & Styles SJ (2018), "Preregistration Documents: Ordering Laksa - Preregistered Design for Speech Elicitation in Singapore English Diglossia", DR-NTU (Data). https://doi.org/10.21979/N9/WW6ZHP Following the preregistered procedure, 10 participants were handed prompts denoting different types of eating establishment that served Laksa - a popular South East Asian dish. In each of 3 contexts, participants then proceeded to 'order a bowl of laksa' while their voice was recorded, resulting in 3 audio recordings per participant. Each audio recording lasts for less than one minute. This zip file contains all 30 audio files, with file names indicating the participant and condition of each utterance.     Systematic Review Data. Systematic review conducted as part of Undergraduate Final Year Project at NTU (Academic Year: 2022-23) The primary objective of this systematic review is to evaluate the quality of evidence supporting CBT treatment, with or without pharmacotherapy, for selective mutism in young children aged 4 to 10 years old. This review also aims to evaluate the quality of evidence for CBT conducted with pharmacotherapy in relation to treatment schedule. The updated preregistration documents include refinements to the search protocol after piloting, as well as clarifications to some data items allow inclusion of case studies and small sample reports in the qualitative synthesis of evidence, to align more closely with the Cochrane Risk of Bias Tool, and clarify the interpretation of some data items.     Systematic Review Data Files for a FYP project in Psychology Studies have found that mental health problems in children have long-term negative consequences such as lower educational attainment, and later in life, lower wages and a higher likelihood of committing crimes (Cuellar, 2015). Therefore, it is important that treatments for child mental disorders are readily available and can successfully ameliorate symptoms of these disorders. Attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is one of the most commonly diagnosed mental health disorders in children. Over the years, many interventions have emerged for the treatment of ADHD. Clinical interventions such as medication, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and combined treatments have reported significant reduction of ADHD symptoms in children. However, poorly designed clinical interventions could compromise the conclusions of ADHD studies. The current quality of evidence of research for ADHD clinical interventions varies. As a result, therapists may choose to ignore biases or implement certain treatments albeit poor quality of evidence in the research for the treatment. This poses some risks to children with clinically diagnosed ADHD as they might not be treated with grounded evidence-based practices. Therefore, it is important to conduct a systematic review of the available research on ADHD clinical interventions as it provides an unbiased lens to assess the state of the research landscape and evaluate the quality of evidence of ADHD clinical interventions. This helps therapists to be more informed about the current research landscape and make better-informed decisions when creating a treatment plan for children diagnosed with ADHD. V3 includes minor corrections to the data at the conclusion of the FYP project.     So, your prof has decided on a science communication project that combines images and text in the form of an infographic. This manual is designed to help you get started on creating an Infographic for a class science communications project that will become an open access educational resource. The manual contains general sci-comms guidance, instructions for how to author and license your new open access work, as well as information about image rights and referencing, and a design guide. The design guide provides pointers to help you to combine text and images in ways that are interesting without being overwhelming for your audience. The manual was first created by Prof Primate for students of ‘An Ape’s Guide to Human Language,’ a second-year course in Psychology at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. In our class, everyone is randomly allocated a primate as their target species for individualized project work. This means everyone in the class helps to build up our collective knowledge about primates, to be shared in a Festival at the end of semester. At the end of the manual are additional instructions for the Sci-Comms Project for An Ape’s Guide to Human Language in S2 of 2021, NTU Singapore. Prof Primate hopes this manual will be useful for students of all subjects, and may inspire more Profs to incorporate Open Access Comms projects (Sci-Comms, Ling-Comms etc) into their assessable work

    PEBBLES: Perceptual Experience Battery - BaseLine Experiment Screener

    The PEBBLES is a simple questionnaire that allows people to describe their sensory experience of the world in a standardized way, including any current prescriptions or devices they use day-to-day. The questionnaire was developed at the Brain, Language and Intersensory Perception Lab (BLIP Lab) at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore in 2017, for use in a variety of studies on multisensory perception and links between the senses. The PEBBLES includes simple questions about people's eyesight, hearing, and other senses. The whole tool can be used as a descriptive tool (e.g., to characterize the group of participants who took part in a study according to their self report), or different subscales can be used as a screener (e.g., to check whether participants can participate in a given study on the basis of their eyesight or hearing). The tool was first developed in 2016. A major revision was carried out in 2018, to reduce ambiguities in some of the questions, simplify the survey flow, and to make the layout more accessible for people with weaker vision.     Talk first given as a lightning talk at Singapore Open Research Conference 2022. NTU Open Research Award Winner (Individual) Abstract: As researchers, our goal is to communicate what we know and how we arrive at our conclusions. But scientific communication is changing – peer reviewed journal articles are no longer enough. New publication types allow us store and share the processes and products of research, from preregistrations and preprints, to data, code, and fully accessible research tools. By sharing widely, we create transparent, replicable, reproducible workflows. New media allow us to communicate with a broad range of audiences. By discussing our work in news and social media, we extend the reach of our expertise. And by sharing our educational resources, we can help each other train generations to come. We need to recognise Open Research as a powerful pathway to impact. The 2024 updates to this repository include the addition of "The Carrot Talk" video and transcript with full reference list.
