Interview with David Straus of San Antonio, Texas, a veteran from the United States Marine Corps during World War Two in the Pacific Theater as well as the Korean War. The interview includes some of Straus' background before the war and his personal experiences while in the Marines, including memories of Okinawa, various weapons, what happened at the end of World War Two, and his assignment in Korea

This private scrip was issued in Matagorda by David Straus. Simple lines decorate each edge of the note. A decorative printer's design comprises the left border. The abbreviation ''No.'' is printed towards the upper-left corner. The year, 1862, is printed in the upper-right corner. The phrase ''Fifty 50 Cents.'' appears across the face of the note. The note is redeemable in Moscow, Polk County. The following imprint appears towards the lower-left corner: Texas Printing House, Houston--E W CAVE. The signature on the verso of the note is illegible.[illegible
