(in English): This bachelor's thesis focuses on the analysis of the selected novels by Radka Denemarkova. In addition to the determination of the common features in the narrative discourse, thematic and language structure of the Central European trilogy, consisting of the novels A já pořád kdo to tluče, Peníze od Hitlera and Kobold, and the common features of other novels by the author, i.e. Příspěvek k dějinám radosti and MY 2, the thesis deals with changes and shifts in the same areas, from the author's debut until her novel MY 2. The thesis also deals with the image of the author, more specifically, how the novels were primarily received in her home country and how Radka Denemarkova builds her own image as an author of the selected novels. Title: The Language Humour in Andvertising Author: Radka Čimingová Department: Department of czech language and literature Supervisor: PhDr. Radka Holanová, Ph.D. Abstract: The presented work deals with linguistic analysis of means that frame humour in printed advertising. The analysis of the language humour is based on a selected advertising sample. This sample was used to identify, classify and specify individual linguistic means in more detail. Humour is interpreted as a play on words that is built around updating, change, intentional breaking of established rules, incongruity and around the relationship between language and extralinguistic reality. This play resulting in a comic tone of the advertisement concerns meaning as well as graphic form of individual linguistic means, usage of different varieties of lexis, intertextual connection and the relationship between words and pictures. The work covers all these aspects of the linguistic play on words as well as describes the theoretical context in which the play takes place and specifies the basic terms connected to the subject of the thesis, i.e. advertising and humour. Comparative study of early- and mid-ripening peach (Prunus persica L.) varieties: biological activity, macro-, and micro- nutrient profile

Fruits have always been a constituent in the dietary recommendations, and have undeniable health promoting properties. Revealing the nutrient profile and biological activity of different fruit varieties is essential for the utilization of their potential beneficial activity. The current study focuses on the detailed comparative analysis of three earlyand two mid-ripening peach varieties: “Filina” (peach), “July Lady” (peach), “Laskava” (peach), “Gergana” (nectarine), and “Ufo-4” (flat peach). They were characterized in terms of essential nutrients as carbohydrates (sugars, pectin, and dietary fibers), proteins (including amino acid content) and lipids as well as organic acids, fat-soluble vitamins, carotenoids and chlorophyll. Mineral content was also determined. In addition, polyphenolic compounds and the related antioxidant activity was studied (FRAP, CUPRAC, DPPH and ABTS methods)

The language and style of Radka Denemark`s novel "Kobold"

    No full text
The main purpose of my final paper is the linguistic analysis of two-part novel contemporary Czech writer Radka Denemarková Kobold "Excesses of Tenderness/ Excesses of People". My final paper consists of two basic parts. The theoretical part collect composition, because it is called open work and language instruments. Practical part is divided into the phonetic side, morphological, syntactic and lexical levels. This novel (itself) is not the only one novel which was written by this author but it creates the third part of trilogy about postwar history in the Central Europe. Its relation with bonding elements of the novels "A já pořád kdo to tluče" and "Peníze od Hitlera" will be studied in this thesis

Abstract PO-027: Associations of radiomics features with tumor necrosis following chemotherapy and/or radiation therapy in patients with extremity soft tissue sarcoma

Abstract Introductory sentence: The purpose of this study is to identify MRI radiomic features of sarcomas pre and post treatment with radiation and/or chemotherapy that correlate with the level of necrosis demonstrated on pathology report upon tumor excision. Experimental procedures: Patients with soft tissue upper and lower extremity sarcomas and available pre- and post-treatment MRI exams were included in the study. For the purposes of this study we utilized T2 fat saturated imaging sequences. We employed MINT Lesion radiomics software for extraction of quantitative imaging data. The lesions Regions of Interest (ROIs) were manually contoured MRI scans before and after chemotherapy and/or radiation therapy. Following treatment, patients had their tumors excised with corresponding tumor necrosis data recorded. Using Pearson correlation statistics, the percent necrosis was compared to radiomic changes (delta-radiomics). Summary of data: Fifty-two patients, treated between 2012 and 2020 were included in the study. The clinical characteristics were: male – (56%) and female- (44%); type of sarcomas ranged from Liposarcoma, Leiomyosarcoma, Myxofibrosarcoma, among others; Grade 2-3; Treatment with radiation and/or chemotherapy of different doses and regimens. MRIs were acquired within 3 months before initiation of treatment and within 2 months after treatment. Surgery was subsequently performed within 2 months of last MRI scan. The average necrosis on final pathology was 68% +/- 33% std. Total of 41 radiomic features were extracted from the ROIs. Five of the delta-radiomics parameters were significantly correlated with necrosis (p-value < 0.05) and sixteen were marginally associated (p-value < 0.1). The significantly correlated radiomic features includes first and second order values representing the distribution of voxel intensities within the segmented image regions and the statistical inter-relationships between neighboring voxels, respectively. Conclusions: In this pilot study we identified delta-radiomics features, related to first order radiomic data, or increased voxel intensity, and second order radiomics, or increased vowel heterogeneity, associated with the level of necrosis within sarcomas post radiation and/or chemotherapy. This data will be followed up with larger patient samples and including additional sequences for delta-radiomics analysis, such as Diffusion Weighted Imaging and Dynamic Enhanced Contrast to develop prediction models for necrosis levels. Title: Some electrical and photoelectrical properties of organics semiconductors Author: Radka Chomutová Department: Department of Macromolecular Physics Supervisor: doc. RNDr. Jiří Toušek, CSc., Department of Macromolecular Physics Abstract: The object of this study is to determine some electrical and photoelectrical properties of polymer materials and their importance considering their usage as a solar cell. Especially, thin layers of polythiophene (PT1,PT2) and poly-3-hexylthiophene (P3HT) are measured and determined. Studied parameters are Fermi level by Kelvin method, the concentration of free charge carriers, conductivity, exciton diffusion length and thickness of the space charge region by surface photovoltage method (SPV). Obtained values were then added to older measurements with similar focus for polymer poly[2-methoxy-5-(2-ethylhexyloxy)-1,4- phenylenevinylene] (MEH-PPV). Statistical inference based on saddlepoint approximations

    No full text
Title: Statistical inference based on saddlepoint approximations Author: Radka Sabolová Abstract: The saddlepoint techniques for M-estimators have proved to be very accurate and robust even for small sample sizes. Based on these results, saddle- point approximations of density of regression quantile and saddlepoint tests on the value of regression quantile were derived, both in parametric and nonpara- metric setup. Among these, a test on the value of regression quantile based on the asymptotic distribution of averaged regression quantiles was also proposed and all these tests were compared in a numerical study to the classical tests. Finally, special case of Kullback-Leibler divergence in exponential family was studied and saddlepoint approximations of the density of maximum likelihood estimator and sufficient statistic were also derived using this divergence.
