LISA: Lexically Intelligent Story Assistant
No full textThis paper serves as an introduction to building an assistive tool for story writers. Our tool, Lexically Intelligent Story Assistant (or LISA), aims to assist story writers by providing real-time feedback on lexical inconsistencies in the story. LISA analyzes the narrative and builds a knowledge base, using artificial intelligence to make inferences and point out errors in the narrative. Moreover, it also allows the user to interact with the system by querying the knowledge base in natural language form. This tool shows that it is possible to create a database for a narrative and use artificial intelligence to improve authoring of stories

No full textTells the story of Dr. Ralph Arrowsmith, a mid-20th century psychiatrist with a life-long connection to Coquitlam's Riverview Hospital [formerly Essendale asylum], a mental institution that opened in 1913 and closed in 2011. Dr. Arrowsmith, who was passionate about the psychiatric movement and deeply committed to his patients, recounts his years of practice with frank discussions of the treatment and perception of the mentally ill at the iconic mental hospital, from the peak of the institutional movement through deinstitutionalization.

No full textProfessor Alfredo Falcone and Dr Lisa Salvatore speak to Roshaine Gunawardana, Managing Commissioning Editor: Professor Alfredo Falcone is the Director of the Department of Oncology and the Specialization School at the University Hospital of Pisa, Italy. He trained in Pisa and Genoa, Italy, and has held major positions in Italian oncology since 2000. He currently has more than 300 publications, including papers in peer-reviewed international and national journals, book chapters, and more than 600 abstracts of presentations to international and national conferences. The majority of his papers regard clinical and translational research, with a particular focus on metastatic colorectal cancer. Dr Lisa Salvatore is a medical oncologist in the Department of Translational Research and New Technologies in Medicine and Surgery at the University of Pisa. She has been an author on about 40 publications in major peer-reviewed publications and has made numerous presentations in national and international conferences. Her main interest is focused on clinical and translational research in metastatic colorectal cancer
