Cross-border Tourism in the Russian Northwest: General Trends and Features of Development
As a result of the socioeconomic transformations in the Russian Federation, the openness of border regions under the influence of integration process taking place in the world community facilitates tourist mobility between neighbouring countries. The author describes an approach that considers the border regions of Northwest Russia as attractive destinations for tourists from neighbouring countries. The development of cross-border tourism as a specific form characteristic of only border regions is one of key areas of tourism development in these regions. An assessment of the prospects of developing cross-border tourism in the border regions of Russian Northwest becomes a relevant research objective. The author identifies the specific features and general trends in the development of cross-border tourism in the Russian regions in question. It is proven that Russian border regions are less competitive than the territories of neighbouring states in terms of the development of crossborder tourism. The author also points out to the avenues of stimulating cross-border tourism development in Russian border regions
Construct 69, Morris, Daisy / Stepanova, Optical and Construct 70, Morris & Co. (Dearle) Iris / Stepanova, Optical
Construct 69 and Construct 70 combine two machine printed Morris & Co. wallpapers with the design Optical derived from a textile print by Varvara Stepanova. Morris and Co. was a design company founded by William Morris, a late nineteenth century English writer, designer and Socialist activist. Morris & Co.’s work included wallpapers of highly schematised representations of flowering plants, now widely reproduced and found in ordinary middle-class English houses, where they represent the utopian traces of the English Arts and Crafts movement. In contrast Varvara Stepanova was an artist and designer who worked in Russia in the 1920s and 1930s as part of the Constructivist movement. The Constructivists’ abstract machine aesthetics supported the transformation of everyday life in the fledgling USSR, an aim which became unrealisable with the rise of Stalin and totalitarianism. Construct 69 and Construct 70 reanimate these two distinct languages and fragments of history, fusing them to suggest renewed possibilities for emancipation

A predictive processing account of the decision-making process in addiction
S pridobljenimi spoznanji želimo spodbuditi razmislek o novih pristopih k zdravljenju zasvojenosti in prispevati k širšemu razumevanju kompleksnosti tega fenomena. This work focuses on understanding the role of the decision-making process in addiction within the theoretical framework of predictive processing. Despite existing research on addiction and the connection between decision-making and addiction, there is still room for additional applied findings that can offer concrete solutions for treatment and living with addiction. From a neurobiological perspective, the reward system plays a crucial role in addictionhowever, from the viewpoint of predictive processing, the reward is a consequence, not a cause, of the organism\u27s actions, as the organism makes decisions to fulfil predictions that will lead to a reward. The aim is to examine how predictive processing can contribute to a better understanding of the role of the decision-making process in addiction and what new perspectives and directions this approach can open for future research and treatment of addiction. With a focus on theoretical analysis of scientific findings, we aim to answer research questions related to: the role of decision-making in addiction, understanding the decision-making process from the perspective of predictive processing, using this framework to explain the role of decision-making in addiction, and gaining new insights into the role of decision-making in addiction. The expected contribution of the research is to clarify the complexity of addiction with an emphasis on decision-making and to provide new perspectives and directions for addressing this problem. The research is not based on empirical methodology but on a critical analysis of relevant literature. With the acquired insights, we aim to encourage new approaches to addiction treatment and contribute to a broader understanding of the complexity of this phenomenon

Salix acutifolia f. pendula (Salicaceae) - a new form
A new form, Salix acutifolia f. pendula I. V. Belyaeva, N. Y. Stepanova et O. V. Epanch., is described and its distribution is given. Existing confusion between the names, S. acutifolia ‘Duschanbensis’, S. acutifolia ‘Pendula’, S. acutifolia ‘Moscow Cascade’, S. acutifolia var. duschanbensis and S. acutifolia [unranked] pendula is clarified

Diffusive author(s), cohesive author: Analysis of S/N (1994)
This study indicates the ways in which various aspects of the author(s) are brought forth in Dumb type’s performance art, the S/N production. Previous research has suggested a non-hierarchical organization of Dumb type and the absence of a “privileged author” in Dumb type’s collaborative work, S/N. However, the results that I have investigated from member’s interviews on the creative process of S/N along with my analysis of the recorded images of S/N, indicate a different aspect of the author(s). First, S/N was created through, so to speak, the collective ideas of the members of Dumb type. Further, S/N has at least nine quotations from previous performances, installations, and printed writings, besides the work-in-progress technique. Explicating one of the “author functions” as given by Michel Foucault, each text has plural subjects of the author. However, it has been revealed from members’ interviews that Teiji Furuhashi had a decision-making role in selecting the members’ ideas within the performance. Since then, S/N has had plural subjects of creation; however, Furuhashi is one of the subjects of creation along with the “privileged author.” S/N has plural authors (diffusive authors) yet at the same time, it has a “privileged author,” Teiji Furuhashi (cohesive author)
