    Alice Steinle and her daughter Laveta Estrada are longtime resides of Ellis County, Oklahoma. Alice talks about her childhood and growing up on a farm. She describes their traditions and practices and how everyone in the community worked together. Laveta also talks about her childhood and her memories from growing up in the 1930s. They both mention the extreme levels of dust that they dealt with and their other encounters with rough weather, like the Woodward Tornado of 1947, which destroyed much of Alice's house. They discuss their family's history as Germans from Russia and their use of the German language in their home. Paris, France, 2000 - 2016).Matthias STEINLE est « wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter » (équivalent de maître de conférences) à l'université de Marbourg en Allemagne. Son excellente thèse de doctorat (en cotutelle Université de Paris IV / Philipps-Universität Marburg) s'intitule "Regards croisés entre les deux Allemagnes dans le film documentaire". Il est spécialisé dans l’histoire du cinéma et de la télévision et ses champs de recherches concernent la représentation de l’Histoire à travers les médias, les rapports médiatiques franco-allemands et la migration d’images d’archives. Lors de cet entretien, Matthias STEINLE revient longuement sur sa thèse consacrée aux "Regards croisés entre les deux Allemagnes dans le film documentaire".Il évoque ensuite la fonction fondamentale des images dans notre rapport à l'histoire et la mémoire et explique ce phénomène troublant qu'il appelle la migration d'images d'archives. Enfin, il revient sur son travail de collaboration à l'émission Histoire parallèle de Marc Ferro et sur son travail de recherche consacré au cycle d'émissions "30 ans d'Histoire" réalisé par Ferro pour la télévision en 1964. Le cycle, réalisé à partir d'images d'archives, confrontait pour la première fois les regards d'historiens français et allemands sur la période allant de la première guerre mondiale jusqu'à l'armistice de 1945. Ces émissions, qui avaient à l'époque constitué un véritable évènement, sont aujourd'hui tombées étrangement dans l'oubli. <br

    This 4 by 5.5-inch (10.16 by 13.97 cm) portrait of brewer Felix Steinle appeared in A Portrait and Biographical Record of Allen and Van Wert Counties, Ohio, published by A. W. Bowen of Chicago in 1896. The volume is 909 pages long and measures 8 by 10.5 inches (20.32 by 26.67 cm). Steinle was born in 1847 in Baden, Germany, where he learned the beer brewer's trade. After coming to the United States in 1868, he lived in Pittsburgh, Cleveland, and Cincinnati. In the late 1870s, he established the Fremont Brewing Company. In 1883, he purchased the Delphos Brewing Company in Delphos. He reorganized and purchased new equipment to increase the brewery's output and produce ice. In 1896, the company produced 7,000 barrels of beer and 3,600 tons of ice. During Prohibition, the company stopped producing beer, but sold ice and non-alcoholic beverages
