Transcendental philosophy and ontology of difference in Salomon Maimon
The paper aims to show the relationship between Transcendental Philosophy and the Theory of Difference in Maimon's thinking. Starting from Maimon's first letter to Kant, the author explains the questions of quid iuris? and quid fact? In a further paragraph, Maimon's theory about the Understanding (Verstand) is compared with the matching theories of Fichte and Hegel. The analysis of Maimon's "Principle of Determinability" (Grundsatz der Bestimmbarkeit) is followed by a final remark on Maimon's meaning for Deleuze's book Difference and Repetition
1, num. 1 (2014), pp. 55-64
The author tries to explain the different positions and reciprocal relationships among the main representatives of German Idealism, concerning the problem of nature and spirit in the context of modern philosophical thinking. He tries to show the actuality of their theories and the impossibility to reduce them to simply another version of the modern metaphysics of subjectivity
The main objective of this paper consists in showing that globalization calls for a new relationship between political philosophy and objective reality. Through concepts taken from French contemporary philosophy, from Guattari to Stiegler, the author criticizes the confusion between Deleuze’s concept of “event” as a virtual production of sense and the modern theory of “augmented reality”. In the last section of his paper, he explains his idea of “Con-temporaneity” as a shared experience of common temporariness. He suggests also some possible developments of political philosophy beyond the tradition of the “history of concepts”
LA GOVERNANCE DEL MERCATO DIGITALE EUROPEO
Abstract. Abstract. In the context of “data spaces”, the essay explores the relationship between the autonomy of private individuals and the regulation of public powers in the governance of the European digital market. After outlining the various theoretical premises and operational implications of the most recent theories, the essay reconstructs the evolutionary lines of the system in terms of the person-market dichotomy. The essay highlights the increasing emphasis of public power regulation in both data regulation (DGA and DA) and market law (DSA and DMA). Given the multitude of interests at stake in the governance of the digital market and AI, the author suggests a reinterpretation of the relationship between individual freedoms and general interests in line with the constitutional system, centered on protecting the value of individuals and their rights to freedom as well as promoting the private self-regulation within the framework of subsidiarity

GNPAT rs11558492 is not a major modifier of iron status : study of Italian hemochromatosis patients and blood donors
Background and Aim. HFE-related Hemochromatosis (HH) is characterized by marked phenotype heterogeneity, probably due to the combined action of acquired and genetic factors. Among them, GNPAT rs11558492 was proposed as genetic modifier of iron status, but results are still controversial. To shed light on these discrepancies, we genotyped 298 Italian p.C282Y homozygotes and 169 healthy controls. Material and methods. Allele and genotype frequencies were analysed and compared with those reported in Exome Variant Server (EVS). To explore the role of rs11558492 as a potential modifier of iron status, serum ferritin (SF), liver iron concentration (LIC) and iron removed (IR) were studied according to allele and genotype frequencies. In addition, the effect of the SNP on liver fibrosis was examined comparing patients with absent/mild-moderate fibrosis to those with severe fibrosis-cirrhosis. Results. GNPAT rs11558492 minor allele (G) frequency (MAF) was 20.3% in HFE-HH, 17.2% in controls and 20.6% in EVS database. Genotype frequencies were 64% and 69.2% (AA), 31.2% and 27.2% (AG), 4.8% and 3.6% (GG) in HFE-HH and controls, respectively. No significant differences were found comparing genotype and allele frequencies even selecting subgroups of only-males with extreme phenotypes and low alcohol intake. SF, IR and LIC levels did not significantly differ according to rs11558492 genotypes. Also, MAF did not differ between patients with absent/mild fibrosis and severe fibrosis/cirrhosis. Conclusions. Our findings indicate that GNPAT rs11558492 is not a major modifier of iron status and is not associated with liver fibrosis in HFE-HH patients
Impact of natural Neuromedin-B receptor variants on iron metabolism
Iron overload heritability remains partly unexplained. By performing whole exome sequencing in three patients with clinical phenotype of hemochromatosis not accounted by known genetic risk factors, we identified in all patients rare variants predicted to alter activity of Neuromedin-B receptor (NMBR). Coding NMBR mutations were enriched in 129 patients with hereditary hemochromatosis or iron overload phenotype, as compared to ethnically matched controls including 100 local healthy blood donors and 1000Genomes project participants (15.5% vs 5%, p=0.0038 at burden test), and were associated with higher transferrin saturation in regular blood donors (p=0.04). Consistently, in 191 patients with nonalcoholic fatty liver, the most common low-frequency p.L390M variant was independently associated with higher ferritin (p=0.03). In 58 individuals, who underwent oral iron challenge, carriage of the p.L390M variant was associated with higher transferrin saturation and lower hepcidin release. Furthermore, the circulating concentration of the natural NMBR ligand, Neuromedin-B, was reduced in response to iron challenge, and was decreased in individuals carrying the p.L390M variant and with hemochromatosis in parallel with increased transferrin saturation. In mice, Nmbr was induced by chronic dietary iron overload in the liver, gut, pancreas, spleen, and skeletal muscle, while Nmb was downregulated in the gut, pancreas and the spleen. Finally, Nmb amplified holo-transferrin dependent induction of hepcidin in primary mouse hepatocytes, which was abolished by the NMBR antagonist PD168368.Conclusions: NMBR natural variants were enriched in patients with iron overload and associated with facilitated iron absorption possibly related to a defect of iron-induced hepcidin release.
The text focuses on offering an analysis of the Sartrean interpretation of the French Revolution which is contained in the Critique of Dialectical Reason. Because of that notions as oath, group in fusion, sovereign nation, freedom-terror or nihilation, that are all basic in the reading that the author of Being and Nothingness makes of this historical fact, become prominent in this essay and appear in it in a recurrent manner. Lévi-Strauss’ criticism at Sartre’s hermeneutical proposal on the Revolution is mentioned as well and this interpretation is finally compared with the one that Hegel puts forward in the Fenomenology of the Spirit.
