    A letter from Laurence L. Doggett to Seward C. Staley dated July 18, 1917. In the letter Doggett seems to be extremely irate at Staley for acting impetuously.Seward C. Staley (1893-) received a bachelor of physical education from Springfield College in 1917. After this, he enlisted in the US army in 1917. During World War I, he worked at the Officers Training School Camp Devens and as assistant camp athletic director, was the athletic director at Camp Gordon, was commissioned Second Lieut. and served at University of Nebraska S A T C. He was honorably discharged December 26, 1918. He also served as the National Physical Director for Greece, 1920-1921. In 1929 he received a Master of Arts in Hygiene from Clark University. After Clark he received a doctorate from the University of Illinois, where his archival collection resides
