FRAZIER, E. FRANKLIN
E. Franklin Frazier was a sociologist, educator, author, lecturer, and head of the Department of Sociology at Howard University from 1934-1959. The papers, which consist of personal and family materials, correspondence, subject files, writings by Frazier and others, research projects and notebooks, photographs, memorabilia, awards, certificates, and scrapbooks, were donated by his wife, Marie Brown Frazier, in 1977. The materials span the years 1908-1962 and total 75 linear feet
GRIMKE, Angelina
In honor of his aunt, Angelina Emily Grimke Weld (1805- 1875), a noted abolitionist and feminist, Archibald Grimke named his daughter, the only child: Angelina Weld Grimke. Angelina Weld Grimke (1880-1958) was a prolific author of poetry, drama, and short stories. Among her most noted writings are, the plays Rachel published in 1921, and the poem The Black Finger , first published in Opportunity in 1923

Stewart, Ollie
Ollie Anderson Stewart (1906-1977), journalist, was the first African American war correspondent to go abroad during World War II. Notable among the correspondents from whom he solicited information was Mercer Cook, an author, professor of romance languages at Howard University, and later, ambassador to several African countries. Cook provided invaluable recollections of his associations with Baker. (His father, Will Marion Cook (1869-1944), was the famed violinist, composer and orchestral director.) The collection covers intermittent periods from 1953-1977, and was transferred to MSRC by a brother Dr. James W. Stewart in 1977-78
