ECTV: Elon Current Events (April 25th, 1995)
This Elon Student Television show is titled Elon Current Events, and it is hosted by Maggie Blickle and Doc Siddal in the Mooney building on April 25, 1995. This program was created to keep the student audience up to date with events at Elon College and in Burlington, North Carolina. Some notable topics include: an Aids presentation by David Atkins; Safe Rides looking for volunteers; Elon College’s Elán Jazz concert performance of “Get Ready” with Catherine McNeela as the director; Elon College Television (ECTV) May Movie Feature Films; the Elon College art exhibition in the Isabella Cannon Room; Elon’s Gospel Choir spring concert performance; Elon College Wind Ensemble concert under the direction of faculty member, Thomas Erdmann; Gerald Whittington, and Victoria Fisher’s performance in Yeager Recital Hall; Elon Volunteers’ search for coordinator positions applicants; “Quick Fix” fast breakfasts and lunches in the old yearbook office in 101 Long building; and a Senior Showcase performance to highlight Elon Fellows academics. In addition, Elon Student College Television premiered a feature video on political figures who visited Elon College, and Bridget Dougherty lectured on the Alamance Care organization. Also, Staci Saltz interviewed Pat Kenny of Margaret Thatcher’s security organization about Margaret Thatcher’s visit to Elon College. This Elon Student Television show is titled Elon Current Events, and it is hosted by Alex Pickens and Staci Saltz in the Mooney building on February 28, 1996. This program was created to keep the student audience up to date with events at Elon College and in Burlington, North Carolina. Some notable topics include: Habitat for Humanity spring break trips to Gainesville, Florida and Almost Heaven, West Virginia; “Love and Action” donations of twenty dollars to Habitat for Humanity; Safe Rides volunteers; a concert from “Widespread Panic”, an American rock band from Athens, Georgia on Elon’s campus; and Elon College Faculty Follies performance. In addition, there was an interview with an Elon College Student Union Board (SUB) member, Andrew Stemmer. Maintenance training for police certification, equity, 2023
HB 2162 Section 10 called for the Department of Public Safety Standards and Training (DPSST) to develop, and establish by rule, a statewide equity training program for police officers. This shall include the minimum training required to obtain and maintain basic certification as a police officer under ORS 181A.490.
