A propos de deux pèlerinages dans la Creuse / About two pilgrimages in Creuse
No full textIt is in comparing two pilgrimages observed in the Creuse region of France in 1986 and 1988, both of which take place on a fixed date, in the high country of the region, and which closely follow traditional customs - but which differ in that one is ancient and the other is of recent creation -, that a question arises with regard to the characteristics particular to popular rites. The ancient pilgrimage of Saint-Goussaud assumes its full consequence only in relation to a larger sequence and if apprehended as if it were a ritualized step in romantic courtship. As for The Night of The Full Moon, created out of concern to re-establish a link with the local past, the ceremony has no relation whatsoever with any other yearly event, is relevant only to itself - which immediately reveals the essence of true rite -, and throws light on the transformations of ancient celebrations in which, as with Christmas, the sense of the rite has all but been lost to habit.C'est en comparant deux pèlerinages observés dans la Creuse en 1986 et 1988, qui ont en commun de se dérouler à date fixe, vers les hauteurs de la région, et de s'appuyer sur des gestes de la tradition, mais qui diffèrent en ce que l'un est ancien et l'autre de création récente, que nous nous interrogeons sur les traits propres aux rites populaires. L'antique pèlerinage de Saint-Goussaud ne prend sens que s'il est rattaché à une plus large séquence et compris comme une étape ritualisée de la cour amoureuse. Quant à La Nuit de La Pleine Lune, créée dans un souci de renouer avec le passé local, elle ne fait écho à aucun autre moment du cycle calendaire, ne renvoie qu'à elle-même, nous faisant du coup comprendre ce qu'est un rite, et nous éclairant sur les tranformations de fêtes anciennes qui, telles Noël, ne se pensent plus dans un cadre coutumier.Es a través de la comparación de dos sistemas de peregrinación observados en la Creuse en 1986 y 1988 - que tienen en común el hecho que se desarrollan en una fecha fija y se organizan en torno a gestos de la tradición, pero que se diferencian en que uno es antiguo y el otro reciente - que el autor se interesa a los rituales populares. La peregrinación antigua de San Groussaud adquiere todo su sentido en la medida en que se encuentra inserto en una secuencia mós amplia y comprendido como una etapa ritualizada del proceso amoroso. En cuanto a La Noche de Luna Llena, creado a partir de la voluntad de recrear el pasado, no se inscribe en el ciclo calendárico y no adquiere su significado sino en su propia dinámica : ésto nos hace reflexionar sobre la naturaleza específica del rito y aporta una perspectiva sobre la transformación de las fiestas antiguas que, como en el caso de Navidad, no son pensadas en el interior de un calendario tradicional.Pinton Solange. Compactness estimates for box-b on a CR manifold
No full textThis paper aims to state compactness estimates for the Kohn-Laplacian on an abstract CR manifold in full generality. The approach consists of a tangential basic estimate in the formulation given by the first author in his thesis, which refines former work by Nicoara. It has been proved by Raich that on a CR manifold of dimension which is compact pseudoconvex of hypersurface type embedded in the complex Euclidean space and orientable, the property named ``'' for , a generalization of the one introduced by Catlin, implies compactness estimates for the Kohn-Laplacian in any degree satisfying . The same result is stated by Straube without the assumption of orientability. We regain these results by a simplified method and extend the conclusions to CR manifolds which are not necessarily embedded nor orientable. In this general setting, we also prove compactness estimates in degree and under the assumption of and, when , of closed range for . For , this refines former work by Raich and Straube and separately by Straube
Dynamic of large particles embedded in shear flows
No full textLarge particles () immersed in a closed turbulent flow tend to explore in a non-uniformly way the cavity in which they are placed. Here we study the slow dynamics of large particles (with various size) advected in closed turbulent flows at different Reynolds numbers. We investigate the spatial sampling experienced by large particles in two fully turbulent closed flows generated between counter-rotating disks (so called von Karman flow), focusing in the slow frequency's (, where is the rotation rate of the driving impellers) and characterize the power spectrum of the slow fluctuations of particles position. Both considered flows share a common feature : the presence of a shear region dividing two mean re-circulation regions ; however the spatial symmetries and the temporal behaviors of both setups are very different. The principal result in this research is that despite these differences both flows exhibit a well defined slow dynamical behavior that can be identified in Fourier space.
