Gamification for behavior change: A scientometric review
Gamification, which refers to the use of game design elements in non-game contexts, provides similar experiences and motivations as games do; this makes gamification a useful approach to promote positive behaviors. As a useful tool for keeping users motivated, engaged and active, there is a wide interest in adopting gamification solutions for supporting and promoting positive behaviors and behavior change (e.g. quit smoking, ecological behaviors, food choices, civic engagement, mental healthcare, sustainability, etc.). In this study, we use the CiteSpace software to examine 984 publications and their 46,609 unique references on gamification applied for behavior change. The corpus of studies was downloaded from the Scopus database and refers to studies published between 2011 and the beginning of 2022. Several methods were used to analyze these data: (1) document co-citation analysis (DCA) was performed to identify the pivotal researches and the research areas; (2) author cocitation analysis (ACA) was performed to identify the main authors; (3) and keyword analysis was performed to detect the most influential keywords and their change over time. The results of the analysis provide an overview of the influential documents, authors and keywords that have given shape to the literature of the field, and how it has evolved, showing an initial interest in motivational and persuasion techniques, and in the gamification design, and subsequently in the development of more rigorous methodologies for both design and use. As the first scientometric review of gamification applied to behavior change, this study will be of interest to junior and senior researchers, graduate students, and professors seeking to identify research trends, topics, major publications, and influential scholars
This essay focuses on pattern of development of Internet in Italy. For this purpose the author analyses the results obtained by different models of public policies: a first one, based on wide autonomy and introduced at local level, and a second one promoted at central level. The analysis deals with two different case studies regarding respectively reti civiche – Italian web pages promoted by local institutions – and a new system of evaluation for academic research projects. The main finding shows how in latecomer country such as Italy there are better possibilities to get good results in the diffusion of new technologies through the activity of a central institution
La rinnovazione dell'istruzione dibattimentale nel giudizio abbreviato d'appello = The renewal of the evidence in the appeal trial of giudizio abbreviato
Starting from the relevant case law and legal literature focused on the applicability of individual cases admitting evidence foreseen by art. 603 CPP to giudizio abbreviato, the Author analyses the criticalities that still characterize the relation between the renewal of the trial evidentiary hearing in appeal and the features about the special proceeding. Finally, de jure condendo, there is a reflection on the balancing between the right of defence and the object interest in judging the case
Storytelling and Identity Construction in US Political Discourse
The volume investigates, from a diachronic perspective, the storytelling strategies constructing and construing the identities of political actors – whether activists, candidates or career politicians – and the discourse practices for raising public awareness and consensus in the United States from the 1960s onwards. Informed by systemic functional linguistics and critical multimodal discourse analysis and supported by an audio and video corpus constructed and annotated by the Author, it presents the results of research into different US political discourse genres, such as Black Church and lay sermons, Vice-/Presidential Nomination Acceptance Speeches and Inaugural Addresses, including their digital remediation, as well as other forms of web-mediated communication.
The investigation is carried out not only in terms of the relationship between texts and contexts relating to the American Dream and Civil Rights Activism, but also with reference to the evolution of culture-bound master narratives and socio-discursive roles affecting the performance of individual, institutional and collective identities in the construction and legitimation of leadership. More specifically, the volume places a special focus on the transition from the televised and newspaper-reading society of the 20th century to a digital society where, as a result of the ever-increasing impact of multimodal meaning-making strategies, globalisation and social media instant messaging, the practice of storytelling is in the process of being redefined and remediated: this entails a strategic relationship between master narratives and the construction of political identities in their interaction with the public.
In these respects, by revisiting well-known territory in a compact, holistic way, the volume is of particular value to specialists in political discourse analysis, but it will also appeal to readers who wish to gain a critical understanding of how political identities and political narratives are co-constructed
The Joint Chambers of the Supreme Court on the Appellate Remedies Against the Security Measures in Case of Conviction Issued in the “Giudizio Abbreviato”
The Joint Chambers of the Italian Supreme Court held that against the judgment of conviction issued in the so-called ‘giudizio abbreviato’ (summary trial without the evidentiary phase), which failed to rule on the security measure of expulsion of the foreigner pursuant to Article 86(1) of Presidential Decree No. 309/1990, the public prosecutor may lodge an appeal with the Supreme Court, and thus excluding that the decision may be appealed to the Surveillance Court pursuant to Article 680 of the Code of Criminal Procedure.
Physiological Aging Influence on Brain Hemodynamic Activity during Task-Switching: A fNIRS Study
Near-Infrared Spectroscopy in Gait Disorders: Is It Time to Begin?
Walking is a complex motor behavior with a special relevance in clinical neurology. Many neurological diseases, such as Parkinson’s disease and stroke, are characterized by gait disorders whose neurofunctional correlates are poorly investigated. Indeed, the analysis of real walking with the standard neuroimaging techniques poses strong challenges, and only a few studies on motor imagery or walking observation have been performed so far. Functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS) is becoming an important research tool to assess functional activity in neurological populations or for special tasks, such as walking, because it allows investigating brain hemodynamic activity in an ecological setting, without strong immobility constraints. A systematic review following PRISMA guidelines was conducted on the fNIRS- based examination of gait disorders. Twelve of the initial yield of 489 articles have been included in this review. The lesson learnt from these studies suggest that oxy-hemoglobin levels within the prefrontal and premotor cortices are more sensitive to compensation strategies reflecting postural control and restoration of gait disorders. Although this field of study is in its relative infancy, the evidence provided encourages the translation of fNIRS in clinical practice, as it offers a unique opportunity to explore in depth the activity of the cortical motor system during real walking in neurological patients. We also discuss to what extent fNIRS may be applied for assessing the effectiveness of rehabilitation programs.

L¿APPELLO DEL PUBBLICO MINISTERO CONTRO LE SENTENZE DI PROSCIOGLIMENTO
This PhD thesis focuses on the power to appeal of the public prosecutor against the acquittal. Within an historical perspective, the Author starts with an analysis of the issues related to the overturning of the acquittal given by the first-instance judge, rendered without a direct assessment of the oral evidence. This analysis has been also carried out through the decisions rendered by the European Court of Human Right and the Italian Supreme Court, trying to underline the progressive compliance of the Italian jurisprudence to the European one.
In this scenario, the main principle ruled by the Italian Supreme Court requires the Court of Appeal the renewal of the trial evidentiary hearing, when the evidence provided for the acquittal by the first-instance judge have been re-evaluated to prove the guilty.
After the reconstruction of the legal and case-law framework, this thesis offers some insights on the relationship between the overturning mechanism and the rights of defense and on the nature of the Appeal
Dimenticare Palermo?
